However, its location was excellent due to its proximity to Trinity College and the Temple Bar area but without the noise. The staff was very helpful and attentive, and the rooms were clean. Very pleasant staff. Good location. Competitive rates. The only draw back is that at night, there is lot of noise. The reason being its close proximity to tram, bus station and bars next to it. If u ignore this, it is a nice bet. Also Internet needs a bit of upgrade.

The hotel is located next to a major bus station, an elevated train, and a police station. It is very loud at night - we had to use ear plugs to sleep. It was also very very uncomfortably warm in our room and that forced us to keep our window open for air - which made the noise factor even worse. The floors were incredibly squeaky, the room had not […] been vacuumed when we arrived, and the toilet only flushed with any effectiveness about every 4 attempts. Each plumbing fixture leaked and the sink "burped" loudly all night. Overall. for the price, a great value. Two minor problems. The first room we were assigned the toilet wouldn't flush so we requested a different room. Second room much nicer and had no problems with it. Housekeeping had trouble with replacing towels. They would take the dirty ones and not replace all of them with clean towels. I wasn't expecting a whole lot--I picked the hotel because it was the cheapest option I could find, and my taxi driver expressed his horror at my choice--apparently it's in a 'bad' part of town. While I waited for her to input my reservation manually, she rang me up some tea, and I sat down in their quaint little lobby. Quite quickly someone had served me a nice tea arrangement, my room was ready, and I got to go up. The room itself I loved. In the states, especially for that price, I would have gotten some claustrophobic little room, but my room was HUGE. I mean not in square feet, but the ceiling and window were so high it gave the illusion of being much larger. It had a lovely bathroom, extra blankets, an easy-to-work heating/cooling system, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. (Or maybe I was just super tired!) The hotel staff was very helpful. The location was not great for exploring Dublin center on foot, and the hotel was difficult to drive to. Parking in the hotel lot can be reserved online or by calling.

Overall, I must admit I was slightly disappointed with the hotel. Our room was smaller than expected, and the furniture was arranged in a way that made it feel too big for the room...desk chair needed to be tucked in completely to exit room etc. The room was fairly clean, but there were many carpet stains. Housekeeping did not replenish tea/coffee items […] or soap in the bathroom and we were only given one cup for tea/coffee. The plumbing in the shower did not work well...temperature fluctuated dramatically. On the plus side, the staff at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful and dinner at the adjoining restaurant was delicious with wonderful atmosphere. I would stay here again. I read some comments about it being a noisy hotel, but our room must have been far enough away from the bus station/tram, as we didn't have a problem with that. The beds were harder, and the pillows even harder, but otherwise the room was nice. They had slippers, shampoo and hair dryer to use. When we arrived there our reservation said it was the Isaacs hotel but the hotel name was different. We sorted it out, where the Isaacs is a hostel and the had recently changed their name from Isaacs. It was nice. Nothing fancy, but your basics are all there. The Isaacs is near a Garda Station, Bus stop, and around the corner from the water front. For the price and the location, you're getting a decent room at a fair price, but know that you will be getting city noise, too. Having been to NY I thought no big deal, I failed to take into account that we'd be 1 or 2 floors off the street rather than 40.

The Issacs Hotel was close to the bus, train and tram stations. Infact so close you might as well be sleeping on the street with them. Upon arrival, the clerk, Tamara, was so rude she made me feel as though I was lucky to be staying at her hotel. The room we were given was okay for an old hotel. I di not realize it was on the street and so I called […] to find out what time the noise would stop and was told it goes on late and starts early in the morning. We were moved to another room. It was like going through a maze just to get there. We went up to go down and down to go up and then more stairs all the time lugging our luggage. We were told we had an upgrade but believe me, it was no upgrade. We were in the basement in a room that was outside a smoking patio and next to the gym. At least it was quiet. The shower did not drain and the hot water set off the smoke detector. I must say the worst part was trying to find our way out of the room. I think if the desk person, Tamara, had been plesant, it would not have felt so bad. I should have staed at the Ashling and taken the tram into city center. Do yourself a favor and choose a different hotel. You will be glad you did! Read more

Hotel Issacs (not to be confused with Hostel Issacs halfway down the block) is a nice place to stay in Dublin. Its downtown location is convenient for walking to most Dublin sights. Me and my GF stayed here for a couple days while seeing Dublin. The Lobby is very inviting with friendly employees. Flyers for things to do and an internet computer that was kind of expensive for me. (Rather find a cheaper internet shop in the city). We took the elevator up a couple of floors and then needed to walk a couple of steps up to the hallway […] where our room was. We noticed that the floor seemed a bit warped and creaky. Ok.. no big deal, its an old building. Our room had the same red carpet as the hallway, there was a couple light spill stains on the one wall, TV was tiny. The bathroom was decent enough. Our window faced the courtyard where people would sit outside for the restaurant which could get a little noisy at times. It didn't bother us too much though. When we got there it was pretty hot and there was no A/C. We had to keep our window open which also let in the restaurant noise. Overall the hotel was pretty good. We just crashed there at night while seeing Dublin during the day. We tried the restaurant and it was very good. Also there is a great place for an Irish breakfast at Isaacs Deli around the block. (We never made it to the hotel breakfast.) On the downside, the rooms were old fashioned. Didn't really like the carpet or bead spread, but seemed clean enough. Having no A/C was a bummer. They serviced our room every day though and staff was friendly. I would recommend this to people that wanna see Dublin. Not if you're going to be in your room most of the time. The location was also right next to a tram stop and bus station. Also within a few blocks of the Temple Bar. They also offered an airport bus service which runs every 2 hours. We missed it on our way in so we took the local bus with the help from the tourist desk in the airport. We were able to use the bus on the way out. We enjoyed our stay in Dublin. Read more
