Friendly staff and plenty to do in this hotel. We had rain the entire extended weekend, but kids loved the indoor pool. The food in the resturant was really good and the breakfast buffett was a great deal (kids ate free). Our only complaint was that the bed in our room didn't have a center support so we driffted towards each other:( Would stay there again!

Clean, well maintained, friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Lots of things to do without leaving the premesis. The weather was terrible while I was there but I did not have to go out in it to eat, the food in the on site restaurants was wonderful. Great specials too! This is also an ideal place to stay with kids because there is plenty for them to do. I felt safe there. Highly recommended especially in the off season!

We enjoyed our stay. The weather was awful so the indoor ice skating rink was wonderful, the indoor pool and ping pong were also life savers. The only reservation I would have was that there were bugs in our room and the hotel staff didn't seem too concerned about it. Also, the hotel is a little antequated.

The hotel was very outdated. We were put into the old part of the hotel that overlooks the ice skating rink. The ceiling tiles were hanging down, the carpet felt moist, and it had a musty smell. I have stayed at top of the line hotels as well as not so good hotels and this was by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in a while.

I planned a mom & me weekend with my 15 yr old daughter to Ocean city for my birthday. When I booked online there werent any oceanfront rooms availiable which I was ok with. When I went to check in... I heard the guy at the desk tell another person there was one avail with 2 queen beds on the bottom floor. It wasnt what they were looking for so I asked about it when I got up to the counter. The guy said yes it was avail. and all I would have to do is call hotels.com to change my reservation and pay the small difference. While I was on the phone the head manager looked it over and pointed out that it was only for one night..but I needed 2. When I got off the phone he told me the situation..but then offered me one of the TWO BDRM CONDOS on the ocean for the same price. He said he didnt anticipate selling it that weekend so I was more than welcome to have it. My daughter and I were in shock. We both had our own bedrooms with tv's and our own bathrooms..We went from a 2 double bed small smoking room. to a two bedroom non-smoking ocean front condo..we had the most awesome time. The hotel was everything we hoped for..ice skating... the restaurant, the icecream parlor...the beautiful and clean path way beachfront that was lighted until after midnight...the only one on the beach that did that. I would recommend this hotel in a hearbeat!

We stayed at the Carousel in the off-season, so I don't know what it is like when it is filled to capacity. The room was very well appointed and clean. We called the front desk to let them know our TV remote did not work and someone brought a new one up and ensured that it worked properly within a matter of minutes. Service in the dining room was fast (we were the only ones in it). Despite the fact that the posted hours of the pool/spa were posted as 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the actual hours were only 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., so we were not able to use those facilities, to our dismay. Two internet terminals are provided to hotel guests, but only one terminal worked. Our oceanfront room overlooked a rooftop of part of the hotel and that detracted from our view. Our room fan only had one setting and was quite noisy. But, all in all, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the Carousel to anyone considering a stay there. The personnel were very friendly.

This hotel should be $50 a night. The rooms where very old and dirty. The mattresses where ancient. The carpet in the room smell. They should do a makeover immediately if they want to continue to charge top dollars rates. I wouldn't stay there again if they gave me the room for free. The actual carousel in the lobby is a joke, they should be named the ice skating rink since that's really the main attraction. The beach behind this motel make it an ideal location but the outdated dirty, smelly rooms mess the whole experience up for anyone to truly enjoy their stay.

Not very pleased with our visit to the Carousel resort considering that the first morning we were awakened to the sound of water dripping from the ceiling. This continued to the point of water turning into a steady flow of water that was coming thru from two floors above us which came from a broken pipe or sewer line.After contacting the front desk we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for a new room. Front desk mgt felt that they responded to the situation quickly and expediantly. After speaking with the mgt;they felt there was NO need to compensate me for the inconvenience during my stay.For this reason I do not recommend this hotel!

The Carousel Hotel provided a quality setting for me and my two children, ages 10 and 12.It's convenient to the beach and main highway. It had adequate pool, restaurant and outside bar/sandwich facilities on site. The ice skating rink with the "Ice Age" evening show was an added bonus for us. The breakfast buffet with two children free for each adult was a great deal.

stayed on the 5th flr facing beach. the roof of the lounge/indoor pool is all you see. no beach view at all. carpet needs replacement. I also killed a roach in the bathroom. I was shocked. I have never seen a roach in any of the hotels/motels I stayed in all my life.

My family and I absolutely loved this hotel, ameniies for the kids , my girls loved ice skating, wonderful location, great rooms. We will return every summer!

The elevators were so slow, most people took stairs. The steps were very narrow and dirty concrete. My room was on the 5th floor - and it overlooks the roof of floors 1-4. I couldn't even see the beach from my balcony (but they advertise beach front). Sitting on the balcony all I could see was the roof and sky, and all I could hear was the air conditioning units. The balcony was dirty, and about 12 inches wide. Pretty disappointing for the price.

Not bad... but the cost is extrmely high, especially if staying one night. The extremely high price was not accompanied by any extra frills... other than an ice-skating show in the lobby.

We were fairly satisfied with our stay. Hotel seemed under staffed and overly crowded. Over all stay was satisfactory.

Easy check-in. Room ready upon arrival. Clean and neat, actually better than I originally expected of a normal hotel room in a big hotel during peak season in Ocean City, MD. Easy access to stairways and elevators and has ample parking.

Was a great place would def go back!

It was a pleasant stay. It's right on the beach, and within walking distance of lots of restaurants. The hotel was very busy, with lots of families and kids running around, so the elevator was tough to catch at times. Room was nice and clean, with a little balcony. Not the most luxurious place, but not shabby either. Staff was nice.

Screaming children, hard bed, worst value of all time. I have stayed in many hotels for business and have never felt this dissatisfied. The only positive was the view everything else was sub standard.

The hotel was not quite what I expected. My daughter and I had a good time though. She loved the fact that there was a skating rink there. And the beach was right out the back door. The carousel that they have in the picture is very miss leading. Very small like a toy. Other than that the place was very good...

lots of things to do with kids... specious room with 2 queen size beds... two complimentary beach chairs during our stay... free parking and access to the amenities on the day we checked out as well... kids Camp 3 times a week in the evening... kids movie in the auditorium... outdoor bar and swimming pool... outdoor live music daily... ice skating shows... ice skating all day for $6... wish we could return the chairs later than 5pm and the outdoor bar would opened til late, not 6pm, and the music goes on til sun goes down. room needed some minor updates/fixes.

This place is dirty and outdated. It is need of a serious facelift and some training for it's staff in customer service. If you are looking for a place to lay your head at night and nothing else....this is the place for you. Don't expect it to be priced accordingly though. Oh and don't froget to have $20 cash on you so you can leave a deposit for your luggage cart. I was told that this is because "you guys" would just leave them all over the hotel and we would have to go get them. It really gives you the feeling of stopping at a gas station where they have to give you a key for the restroom. Once you get the cart don't expect any help from the guys outside. I don't really need help with my bags but I certainly didn't need the bellman outside to be commenting on our luggage as he leaned against his podium. What a joke. If you are in the market for a hotel with a nice balcony, look somewhere else. Our balcony was roughly two feet deep with a 1 plastic chair on it that looked liked someone may have vomited on it not too long ago. I read a similar review before I booked and then thought "how bad could it be"? I never write reviews....this place deserved one.

The indoor pool was Great! This hotel is for kids.... families! My husband called the main lobby "kiddie-ville". But if you like video games and kid stuff its perfect.. The beds were not comfortable. The bar closed early and the music ended at about 5 and for us we were just getting back from the beach and wanting to relax at the bar with the live music... and everytime we got settled it ended. The floors in the room were dirty... the bathroom floors were not mopped... I used a white towel to clean the water on the floor and the towel was almost black.. yuk!

Overall, I was very disappointed. With the rate I was paying, I knew I wasn't going to get five-star service. But the hotel staff were all very rude, especially the people behind the desk, and there's just no excuse for that. I wouldn't exactly call it a roach motel, but I don't think it qualifies to be called a "resort." The beds were comfortable, though, so if you're just looking for a place to spend the night it might be okay.

The room was clean and in good condition, but the location of the balcony on the roof was the detractor. The only view from the balcony or any window in the room is of the hotels roof mounted cooling units and windows leading to the adjacent hallways. I believe that the upper floors would provide for better a much viewing pleasure. The hotel itself offers many activities on the premises and has a good atmosphere.

I just loved it!!!!!!!

IF YOUR NOT RIGHT UNDER THE AIRCONDITIONER THEN YOU WILL BE OKAY, OTHERWISE BRING EXTRA COVERS. THE MANAGER WAS VERY HELPFUL TO SEND MAINTENANCE TO HELP AND THEY DID WHAT THEY COULD. WE HAD THE BEST NIGHT SLEEP ON THE LAST NIGHT THAT WE STAYED, WHICH WAS EXCELLENT SO WE COULD DRIVE HOME THAT DAY. I HAVE STAYED HERE OVER THE YEARS AND I WILL RETURN TO GIVE THEM AND ANOTHER ROOM A CHANCE.

We had a beachfront hotel room. We could open the balcony sliding glass door and hear the ocean. We had a room with 2 queen beds and a sofabed. The regular beds were comfortable, but the sofabed was not comfortable.

The hotel has very friendly staff, from the front desk to the security people, everyone was very friendly & helpful. The hotel is in a great location. The beach front was beautiful, the interior of the hotel was nice too, though the rooms were absolutely filthy! I wouldn't allow my family to touch anything before I cleaned it for myself. Lucky for us there was a grocery store directly across the street. Now I realize hotel rooms aren't going to be spotless of course & my expectations of hotel rooms-especially on the ocean front aren't the highest as they do get a lot of traffic, but this room was in major need of a good cleaning. It was obvious the only things that were changed in the room were the sheets & the towels. Other than that, the stay was fine. Was OK for the price we paid. We stay in Ocean City a lot & we just love it there.

Overall we enjoyed our hotel, mainly because it was walking distance to The Green Turtle (right across the street). There were a lot of kids all over the place, but we expected that with the name Carousel". I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind being around kids :-)

we loved our room! We really enjoyed the balcony! We will stay here again next year!

We went down the end of May. This was our second visit to this hotel. There was construction in the three room directly below us. For the first two days they stopped the noise around 7pm and didn't start until about 9 am. The third day they did not stop working until about 9 pm. Luckily my kids are deep sleepers. The worst thing for me was the water pressure. It was almost impossible to take a shower. The water took forever to get hot and the pressure was so light I walked around the whole vacation feeling like there was conditioner in my hair. There was also alot of small problems like the sliding glass door was very hard to open, coffee pot didn't work and the room was cold. When the front desk was called they did everything they could to satisfy us. Unfortunately, the hotel needs some major upgrades to live up to a 4 star rating. We will probably not go back to this hotel again.

Not everything was quite up and running for Memorial day weekend and there was a small problem with the billing (we were asked to pay on arrival when the room was already paid for), but the hotel rectified this right away after speaking with hotels.com. Our oceanfront room had a great balcony with table and a wonderful view! Though the hotel is a little on the older side, the rooms were clean.
