Do not book room 54: it is right next to the kitchen which gets very noisy very early in preparation for continental breakfast and the courtyard outside breakfast area looks right into the same room. Front desk staff usually very helpful. Other than kitchen noise, the hotel was fairly quiet. Internet was available, but charges for using were cheap; €5 for 100 minutes, which is far cheaper than cruise ships! I'm not usually the person who logs on and writes negative reviews, but this time I feel it is warranted. Mostly, I'd just like to warn you and set your expectations. First, the hotel is very dirty, especially the shower. Second, WiFi is not free and you probably won't have access to it from your room anyway - I was told lobby only. Third, they will […] charge you a fee to keep your bags at the front desk for a few hours after checking out (every other hotel in Europe that we stayed at did not charge such a fee.) To keep this review short, let me tell you that the room was so bad we didn't even end up staying the night. Fortunately we only booked this hotel for one night, so we just took a loss on the room and switched over to a different 3 star hotel in Venice, which of course costed more, but we were more than happy to pay it. The pictures on hotels.com of this hotel are played up big time and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone trying to have a romantic evening in Venice. ...If you're a 20-something bachelor then OK, you can probably deal with it, but otherwise definitely avoid. Surprisingly, the hotel had a big room. The bathroom was large, clean, and maintained. The bedroom had a new flat-screen TV, a safe, and A/C. Another pro was its location to the train station. There were a few cons to the hotel though. The biggest was it had no elevator. Lugging around the luggage was a hassle. For the room, the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The “queen” bed is just two twin beds put together side by side. The shower stall was also a pain. It is literally the size of a phone booth, so maneuvering around was tight. The spot where the hotel is in the alley is also rather unnerving at first. We walked down this dark alley that felt very sketchy. It’s scary at first, especially when you have ALL your belongings with you, but Venice is that way and it really isn’t as dangerous as it looks. It’s just something to get used to. Overall I thought the hotel was satisfactory and suited our needs. Its location was prime, but the price seemed a bit steep for what we got. My general recommendation is to find a hotel near the train station that doesn't require you to carry luggage over Venetian bridges. Read more

We chose this hotel because it was close to the train station. We didn't want to walk our bags throughout the small crazy streets of Venice. Our walk was short from the Train Station so that was good but the alley our room was on was loud throughout the evening and early morning. We could hear everything. Nice Hotel with good breakfast, friendly staff. If your room is on the 2nd floor, it is really on the THIRD FLOOR. Up marble winding stairway, so be prepared if you have leg or knee problems or have a lot of luggage.

Looks like the hotel has recently remodeled and assumed a modern theme. The room was the most spacious of the hotels I stayed in Italy in this range. The AC worked great and the breakfast was good but standard fare in a nice room. The location was convenient for travel in and out of Venice.

The rooms were tiny, but yet good enough for a few nights. 50m walk from thE main railway (Santa Lucia) and ferry station (Ferrovia). So definitely a excellent location. Cannaregio has just as much to offer as any of the other areas in Venice mainland. Truly a remarkable holiday!!!

The hotel is in a superb location for anyone travelling by train. My room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good, served in a sunny and pleasant room. There is access to a computer (for a payment) which is helpful. Interactions with reception staff were mixed - one extremely helpful; the other rather dismissive.
