We had a great time... last year we stayed at the hotel that was next to the Thunderbird, which is now owned by the Thunderbird.. we love the location.. close to Sloppy Joes, Gigi's and great pizza at Foxy's... Publix is also just a block away... we are already looking forward to our next mini vacation there.

We enjoyed staying here. We have 3 kids, and I think this area is more meant for adults, but we still had a blast. The front desk told us where kid friendly restaurants were at in the area and they were walking distance. The beach is very long, but gorgeous. The kids had a blast playing in the water. There is a very nice pool with a bar and a band in […] the evenings. That was really fun for, but more of an adult area. If we sat on our deck of our room we could listen to the music and hear the band, so that was awesome. They told us there was another pool on the property that we could go to that might be better for the kids, but we ended up going shopping instead, so I can't give a review of that one. The hotel is a bit old, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The people who work there are extremely friendly and helpful. I would defintely stay here again if my husband and I came back. If we brought our kids again I would probably go somewhere different just because of the shops and restaraunts that are nearby. If you do have older kids though, you can see the pool on your tv in your room, so you are able to watch them, that was a very nice feature! Read more

Had a wonderful time staying at the Thunderbird! We parked the rental car and never moved it in 4 days. Went to the beach everyday and walked to 3 great restaurants for dinner every night. The staff was super friendly and the beds were comfy. We would consider this our 1st choice for when we return next year!

Our overall opinion is that it is an older hotel with good service and beautiful location. You are right at the huge beach with plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. Breakfast was ok but they were overburdened once the tables filled up. There are a couple places nearby for breakfast/lunch/dinner but we found more places in St. Pete, which […] is right near by. The room was ok with two comfy beds. It is dated and therefore, don't expect to much. Kids should wear socks unless you want to wash their feet after a couple minutes running around. The hotel was fine and the service good. Check in was quick and efficient. I do have one complaint. The walls are so think and the people next to us so loud that at times we thought someone was in our room. It woke us up. Not sure how many people were in the room next to us but they were extremely loud.

My wife and i stayed here for our vacation. We found the location to be nice, but our room was in great need of updating. The air conditioning did not work, our shower head fell out of the wall, the stove was probably from the 1800's, the television in our room came and went. Hotel right on the beach just a walk out your door, no streets to cross! Great pool too with plenty of chairs and a walk up Tiki Bar and music every day to relax to. Convenient to restaurants and the new Treasure Island Trailway which is perfect for walking, skateboarding, roller blading and even biking. Dated but adequate hotel. Beach is a good 200 yards from hotel. Soundproofing is weak between rooms. Staff were all great. They need 2 clean A/C unit coils and drain pan as strong must odor came from unit. Make sure & try Midlands Restaurant nearby....pricey but awesome!!

I lived in st Pete for over 10 years and when family comes down we always stay at the beach usually 2 nights. Being it was march and hotel rooms are way to expensive we only stayed one night.. I wanted something a little different this time so I stayed at the Thunderbird. I knew of it from many years driving thru treasure Island but was very satisfied […] with the accommodation and grounds. The only negative thing was the beach is over 260 yards which is far for older people to walk as st Pete beach is is a hop skip and a jump to the gulf. Also being a business owner myself I feel they could have made alot more money if they had pool side service for drinks and food. I felt like getting up and making some myself . just a suggestion especially during high season. they have great tables near the tiki bar and music so why not . just that extra step. Read more

Old style Floridian "resort" right on the gulf. Rooms are kept in good shape, most rooms have a view of the water once you step out of the room and sit on the balcony. Great restaurants and bars nearby including a Walmart and Publix. Johns Pass is walkable for outdoor fun......a good deal here!

My wife and I celebrated 30 years of marriage at the T-Bird and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Right on the beach with a heated pool and a surprisingly decent little cafe. Very homey place not fancy. Relaxed with a musician by the beach and Tiki bar. Easy to get to other parts of St Pete's and the Tampa area. Very satisfied!

Clean with big rooms. Bathroom very small but very clean . Air conditioner had a great deal of odor. Beach very nice but 200 yards to water. Over all 7/10. I would recommend to friends.

It's nice to stay in an older hotel that is well maintained because of the added charm of it's age. The front desk called our room within 10 minutes of arrival to make sure everything was to our liking. We reported a small problem and help was on the way within 10 minutes. The location is beautiful right on the beach.

Construction made it hard to get around. Parking was limited. No place for guests to park. Construction of sidewalk in front of room was an eye sore. Beautiful room on the beach having to look at the barriers was not pretty.

The hotel is on the beach but you have to walk about 300 or so feet to get to the ocean. The hotel had very little parking and tight spaces. The room is ok. The bathroom is outdated. They have a problem with the toilet draining correctly and I had to call to get it cleared. The shower leaked. We had the best experience with the hotel. ALL the staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The restaurant was great, and our bartender at the tiki bar (Vlad) was just nice. From the minute we stepped through the door, the Thunderbird had a nice feel. Missy greeted us and was most helpful and informative. Ben also was very accommidating, everyone we encountered at the motel was friendly and we loved the location and look forward to outr next visit, as this was our first trip to Treasure Island, an loved it.
