We travel to Hot Springs alot, several times a year and this was our first time staying at this property, the location is excellent, water on 3 sides of the property and only a short drive to downtown. The resort staff were all excellent and the room was clean, the indoor pool and spa were a nice feature. The property itself is very dated and needs some updating and repairs but everything was clean and we had -0- issues. Recommended for the money!

The staff told me they had new owners and would be remodeling soon. I love the location, but I will make sure they have remodeled before I go back. The staff is the best.

The hotel was nice. We got a lot of room for the price. It is definitely an older hotel that could use some updating. They have a restaurant area that was open for breakfast. The 'hot' breakfast was mildly lukewarm, but it was a free breakfast I was not even aware that was included. Everyone that worked there was extremely nice.

My husband and I stayed at the Lake Hamilton Resort for our 1st wedding anniversary. At first glance the hotel looks dated and the rooms could use updating, especially the TVs, they appear to be from the late 80s. The staff was friendly enough though since we were the ONLY people there i think they could have extended the pool hours for an extra hour or two. The pools were nice and the room comfy, lots of room, though they could update their bedding, our comforter had a hole or two. Being that we were the only people there it was very peaceful. The sauna was out of order which was disappointing and the breakfast they offer could be a bit more palate friendly (eggs were a bit runny and hashbrowns were greasier than the finest fast food restaurant). And we did notice two roaches near and around the pool area, so they may want to get an exterminator in to spray. But the view was beautiful and the the hotel was peaceful and quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for. They are also pet friendly, big plus, as we have to take our mini pin with us everywhere. Overall i would reccommend theis hotel, the price is right and it is close to downtown--about 5-7 minutes away. With the affore mentioned improvements that could be made i think the Lake Hamilton Resort would do great business.

The Lake Hamilton Resort has so much potential! It's clearly in need of some TLC, but the room was comfortable and spacious for the money. The towels weren't the softest or whitest, and the individual soaps/shampoos looked like they had just come out of a storage box from 1985, but the room had all of the ammenities that I look for, and then some. My King suite had a refrigerator, sink/wetbar, microwave, TV, large living area with desk, phone, couch and other seating, basic bathroom with sink, a separate sink and vanity outside of the bathroom, separate bedroom with a second TV and workspace, and a balcony overlooking the lake. I read many of the recent reviews on hotels.com and they are all true - except for the one claiming that it was going to be updated in December of 2008. Basically, if you keep your expectations low (which I did), you will be pleasantly surprised (which I was). I kept thinking how great this place would be for a family on a budget. Plenty of space, you can't beat the price, and kids don't care if the carpet and fixtures are dated. Although I didn't use it, the indoor pool area looked nice (outdoor needed work but was open for use).

I knew what I was getting myself into. I read the other reviews. I knew it wasn't going to be a new hotel. But I was going to give the hotel a fair chance. The hotel was built in the early 80's. (I asked). According to the lady who worked there it was originally a Sheraton, but now it is privately owned. People at the hotel were friendly enough and did their job. The ladies at the front desk were always laughing and talking, which I thought was nice. Here are the specifics of why we won't be staying there again: 1) Price. Way overpriced. It should cost $69/night, and then I wouldn't have a single complaint. 2) Condition. The Hotel has never had a renovation. It isn't clean. There is dirt in every corner. Mold on the tub. Rust on the pipes. The grout is all black. The screws in the cabinets are loose. Not all light bulbs work. The linens are old and worn. 3) Mattress. The mattress is terrible. My wife had to sleep on the couch it was so bad. 20 year old hotel mattress. I didn't sleep a wink. 4) There is no real restaurant. They have a breakfast that compares to something like you might get at a Hampton, but without any type of selection. "Plate 1 or Plate 1". No buffet. But again, the lady who was actually doing the serving was very nice. 5) Location. Not as close to downtown as I had hoped. We had a great trip and plan to go back. What I learned about lodging is that the "Value Chains", (think Clarion), are the way to go. They were newer, better locations, and much better priced. I don't usually stay at budget hotels, but in Hot Springs, they are more than okay. Sorry to be so hard on the hotel, but it just really wasn't that nice.

The hotel, located on a peninsula on Lake Hamilton, has beautiful veiws from the room. The hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool, a boat dock, a sauna, and it's own private beach. The downfall is there are no lifeguards so it is a swim at your own risk situation. The sauna was broke when we visited but wasn't too big of a deal for us. My only issue with the hotel was its cleanliness. It wasn't disgustingly dirty but it wasn't clean either. Those of you who are particualr about cleanliness may want to forego a visit to the resort.

I stayed at this resort 10 years ago and it was great. Well, what a difference 10 years can make. The room size and set-up is nice. However, the hotel needs some serious renovation. The carpet had a damp smell. The bathroom was scary. It just needed to be totally gutted and re-done. The balcony was dirty and needed to be hosed down. Also, be advised that the city apparently drains the lake in the fall so all you'll see is a big mud hole - no lake - if you go during this time of year. This was a major disappointment to us since we were expecting to see LAKE Hamilton. On the brighter side: The staff was very nice and the hotel breakfast buffet was a plus.

The room we checked in was old and worn out with many stains on walls and curtains.beddings were dirty and old. Our major concern was spiders in the room and out patio area where you can see huge spider webs all over. The only thing we liked about this resort was view of the lake. That was it! This place needs major cleaning and renovation in each room and surrounding area.

Nothing was working, sign on the sauna saying "out of order" looked like it had been the a while. The hottub was out of order, which I think happens often because they didn't seem too concerned, and my room smelled like old smoke. My room had VERY thin walls, I could hear everything the couple next door were doing and I could smell the cigar smoke, even though we were on the non smoking level. Nice view after we complained about a tree directly in front of our balcony. Nice location..., it was kinda creepy though, reminded me of The Shining....

My boyfriend and i had a wonderful stay at Lake Hamilton Resort. We were able to check in early and the room was clean and much bigger than expected. The only thing i had a problem with was a dog barking outside in the middle of the night. I would recommend staying there anytime.

The hotel itself was clean and in decent condition, however, all of the indoor amenities were out of order. The sauna was closed for repair, as was the hot tub, and the indoor pool was not heated. These were big reasons we booked a stay at this hotel. We wanted to be able to enjoy the amenities while the weather outside was cool. Also, the bedding was some of the lowest quality I have ever experienced at a hotel. You could feel the springs in the mattress, the blanket was covered in burn holes, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. Not a good night's sleep. Not worth the money.

I loved the balcony, loved having two separate rooms. It was very spacious for the price we paid. The atrium was beautiful, and we loved feeding the ducks. If I had any complaint at all, I think they need to wash the bird droppings off the sidewalk every day. Those large geese really make a mess, though we really enjoyed the birds!

My cousin and I had decided to get out of town for a girls' weekend getaway. After reviewing the choices at hotels.com, this hotel was the best fit for us. I looked over the reviews and some stated about the hotel being outdated. The resort may have been a little older, but we absolutely loved our stay! Our room was huge and was very quiet. Of course it overlooked Lake Hamilton and had a nice walkway along the hotel. It was a few miles from town, but the drive was not bad at all, very nice. The hotel, the service, the location were all great. I would definitely stay there again.

For the money, this was a very good place to stay. They have their own boat ramp, good parking and great location. The resort is old, and it shows its age. It is kept clean though. The room was actually more than I expected, very big and a nice balcony. The wireless internet is not to the rooms, only in the lobby area which was a bummer. For the money, this was a great 3 day trip.

The Lake Hamilton Resort was not a "cookie cutter" type of hotel. It was located on the lake and included a beach area, 2 pools, and a hot tub. The rooms are older and "broken in," but comfortable enough. The room could use some updating, and the shower could use a good scrubbing followed by a grout seal. But, overall, we felt it was clean and in good working order. Housekeeping was a little slow to bring additional towels and hangers on the first day. However, we did appreciate the free laundry facility down the hall. We would stay at this hotel again, should we be in the area.

An older property that is past its prime, but still a nice place to stay. The kids loved the indoor pool and my wife and I enjoyed the whirlpool. The room was very large and it was nice to have 2 separate rooms and the view of the lake was great. We enjoyed the breakfast bar on Sunday morning before we packed up to go home. Internet access would have been a nice addition.

The hotel really needs updating. The bathroom floor was dirty the shower tub was poorly designed and water ran over it right on to the floor. The toilet was another story. The lid would not stay up because of the counter top being to low and the lid hit it and slammed down every time you used it. The carpet in the hall ways was buckling up making it hard to roll the luggage carts. I do have to say that the staff was very friendly.
