"Would totally recommend to anyone."
I was not expecting the River Walk Vista to be as nice as it was but I was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I loved staying here and would love to come back for a visit in the future. It's located right off of the River Walk which is really nice and the inside is decorated in a rustic home-like feel. Our room was perfect and we felt like we were […] staying at someone's house instead of a hotel. The breakfast was a nice add on along with the glass of wine before going out for dinner. I would totally recommend to anyone that is looking for a great experience in San Antonio. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Location was very convenient, the inn itself is very charming. There are a lot of small details that really show how much though the owners/staff put into it. The breakfast is pretty good and the rooms are spacious with tall ceilings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, great location, great food"
My wife and I stayed at Riverwalk Vista, we were in San Antonio for a retreat and came a couple of days early just for the two of us. The staff was so helpful, directing us to great restaurants and sights to see. Free wi-fi. The food at breakfast was very good, the hospitality time from 5-8pm included free wine and other drinks. The hotel has a lot […] of character, which was a nice change from staying in other hotels, which are really all the same. Our room was at the end of a hallway and we felt like we were the only ones on the floor. Plenty of little sitting areas for sipping wine or reading. The Riverwalk was right across from our hotel, the Alamo was two blocks away, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The only complaint is that the street outside the hotel is busy through the night, but with the air conditioner and fan running, the sound proof glass and shades the hotel installed, it really wasn't too much of an issue for us. For those who are light sleepers, it may not be the best location. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and will stay there again when we return to San Antonio. "Wonderful two day getaway"
We loved the hotel for its historical significance, the location so near the Alamo, RIverwalk, and downtown. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever eaten. The staff was very helpful. Everyone we met in San Antonio was very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A wonderful experience"
The Riverwalk Vista is a wonderful experience. Breakfast in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and wine in the evening all included. The location is perfect. Right across the street from the Riverwalk and only a couple of blocks from the Alamo. The parking situation is a negative, however. If at all possible, do not drive to the hotel, take a cab. […] There is a loading zone in front of the building, but only for two cars and it is usually full. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were directed to a nearby parking garage, but it was also full. Spent another half hour waiting for a spot to open up in the garage. You feel like your having a room in a family house, but with total independence. I got shocked and suspicious when i arrived since there was no reception, but as soon as you get in, u feel how special it is. Location is great as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved this Hotel"
Listed as one of Americas Historic hotels with modern bathrooms and furnishing. A must stay, good for business and leisure. I highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel with great staff!"
We really enjoyed the hotel this past weekend. Great location right near the River walk entrance. Three great bars with 100 yards. Really cool rooms with comfortable beds, pillow, etc. Updated for older hotel and had a lot of history. Only possible negative is they do not have on sight parking and on a busy weekend made things a bit difficult.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved the place and the set-up. Great room! Quiet too. But, the parking or lack there of, is annoying. We had to pay $24 to be in the city lot over night. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charcater and convenience"
This hotel is wonderful! It's close to the Riverwalk, the Alamo and shopping! It was full beautiful character with the original exposed brick. It's a small, but very secure. Loved every minute. :-)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet stay, right next to everything"
I definitely recommend this bed and breakfast! It was so cute and personalized - I loved the older style building (without all the negative aspects of an older building). You're basically staying on the riverwalk, and even with a bar two doors down, there was no real road noise. I slept like a babe! Cookies in the afternoon, wine in the evening, and […] a personally cooked breakfast. This place was very charming and I'm so glad I stayed here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A surprising find"
This is a first-rate hotel. It is sharply decorated and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is steps away from Rivderwalk. Don't let the steps and the door bell that greet you upon arrival throw you off. Go ahead and ring that bell. You will be entering into a lovely experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The experience was very enjoyable. The amenities and food were wonderful. The only negative is the lack of parking. You must park one block away. We will definitely recommend the Vista to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needle in a hay stack"
Upon arriving, the innkeeper enthusiastically helped me with my bag & called me by my first name. When she showed me my room, there was a teddy bear nestled among my pillows. That,...spoke volumes to me. The historic inn's playful & comfortable sense was clearly personal with that gesture. The room's 15 foot ceilings didn't compromise the warmth of […] the space regardless of 32 degree weather outside! A journal was also available for you to leave comments about your stay. These are all the things that mainstream hotels can't & don't offer you. . . . I loved it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel! "A hidden jowl in the middle of the city"
Don't be fool by the exterior of this hotel because once you get inside this hotel, you will be exposed to the friendliest staff and gorgeous interior architecture: from the wooden stairs (I just used the stairs instead of the elevator because the simple use of it made me feel like royalty), to the wooden floor, this hotel is awesome. You will get an […] excellent breakfast buffer with cold and hot items to chose from, fruits, cereals, juices, a wide selections of tea, and many other things. Around tea time, you will get fresh hot cookies and coffee/tea or hot coco. And around five, you will get white or red wine. At any time, there is coffee, water and tea for you. The common area is spacious, never felt crowded and you have a newspaper (to be shared with others). The rooms are wonderful, comfortable beds, with AC and and big and spacious walk in showers big enough for 2 ;-) Needless to say, we had a great time at that hotel. The staff is super friendly and wiling to go that extra step to make your stay even better. You do get access to a local pool and a gym ... however, I did not try neither of them so I cannot comment about the quality and distance from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My wife and I spent Christmas week at the Vista and could not have been happier with our selection. Centrally located in town, across the street from the Riverwalk and full of historical photos only added to the great accommodations and very friendly staff. Our 2 sons really liked the furnishings and room comfort along with the various seating areas […] to read, enjoy wine and just hang out and watch the people enjoy the city below. This was our first trip to San Antonio and when we return we will go back to the Vista. While looking for places to stay, I liked the small room count but was not sure what to expect. Well, believe me it is well worth it. In my opinion much better than the high rise, fancy hotels that are all around the area. From the home cooked pastries, coffee and friendly Innkeepers sitting down to talk and get to know each other - to the really nice rooms with fantastic showers (big part of my impression of a hotel) - all around it is a winner! Our room was on the 3rd floor so we just walked out to get coffee and treats. Wife and son loved the "cookie of the day" and they put out wine every day @ 5 pm to enjoy. "Someone Please Open a Window"
The hotel is cute, historic, & very close to the Riverwalk, an entrance being across the street. The lady I met upon check-in was very nice, & the breakfast they provided was wonderful. I appreciated that they had a diverse tea selection, & that they let it be available at all hours, as unfortunately we often had to leave very early in the morning to […] get to Lackland AFB for my sister's ceremonies, so we couldn't get breakfast. Also, the afternoon homemade cookies are AWESOME. Despite all these nice things that the hotel had to offer, the room itself was dismal. It smelled somewhere between wet dog and mold. We ended up spending most of my time at my parent's hotel instead simply because we couldn't handle the smell of our room too long. The first night I thought maybe it was because the room hadn't been rented in some time, & it would go away the next day when the cleaning lady came in. It didn't. The windows are sealed shut, presumably as part of noise-proofing from the busy street below. (It neighbors a McDonald's which usually had loud teenagers & drunk people at night) No air + terrible smell means not much sleep, & the bed sheets felt slightly damp at all times, much like when you don't run them long enough in the dryer. I think that was more from absorbing the moisture in the air however. I really want to recommend this place, but room comfort is a pretty basic requirement that needs to be fulfilled before considering amenities. Find a way to let in air into the rooms! "Old building but very comfortable and accomodating"
Only there for one night. Neat old historic building that's been converted into a hotel. Easy access to the Riverwalk and although parking is an issue it's not very far from the parking garage, less than a block. Only issue we had was from the road noise especially at 1:30-2am when the city crew decided to power scrub the sidewalks directly below our […] 3rd story window. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area and gave great suggestions on places to see and things do in our short visit. Breakfast was awesome, and although not a lot to choose from it was very filling delicious. If we make it back down there we will more than likely be back to this hotel but will ask for a interior room or non street side room if possible. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Riverwalk Vista was a wonderful inn (more than a regular hotel). The staff, Pat, Catherine, David, were friendly and very helpful about where to eat, where to go and how to get there. Breakfasts were ample with some special dish made every morning. Water was replenished in the room refrigerator every day. Great Place to stay stay in San AntonioGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was probably one of the best places we've ever stayed. The breakfast in the mornings and cookies in the afternoon are a great touch. I would highly recommend the Riverwalk Vista to anyone visiting San Antonio!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Riverwalk Vista is in a great location by the Riverwalk and Alamo. The breakfast was good and the evening wine offering was a nice touch. The hotel staff was excellent. It was a great alternative to a more pricey hotel on the Riverwalk. The room was very spacious, as well as the bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Home away from home."
The staff was fabulous - extremely accommodating and helpful with tips on worthwhile sights, how to get around and even insider tips. The attention to details - breakfast, snacks, home made lemonade and goodies, teddy bear on bed and rubber duckie in the bathroom- makes you feel as if you're going home to a cozy, familiar place after a tiring conference, […] meetings and sightseeing tours. The interior decoration is absolutely charming and gives you an impression of what the local, older homes could possibly look and feel like. The only downside is the poor internet access and dim lighting in the room if you have to do work and access emails. But otherwise I highly recommend staying here for a relaxed, homey and even romantic stay in a beautiful city. Oh, the location is unbeatable in terms of getting to the sights, Riverwalk, other major hotels and conference center for business meetings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overnite site seeing"
Oversized rooms, nice. Location good. Staff very accommodating. Hotel is an old warehouse and has some quaint characteristics. It is old so do not expect a modern room, although it was clean. To enter you must go up 10 steps which is difficult if you have large luggage pieces. Parking is also off site at a parking garage across and down the street. […] Cost is $12/nite with no in/out or you pay again. Most would not need as everything is pretty much within walking distance. Breakfast good and added touches of cookies and wine in the afternoon. I loved this hotel. It was located right in the heart of all the activity on the river walk. It is a small hotel and feels very intimate. I rarely saw another person in the hall. The rooms are gorgeous with tons of character from being an old historic building. Loved the hard wood floors and brick walls. Bed was comfortable and they provide many complimentary […] things...such as free wifi, snacks in the lobby everyday, wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning including a hot dish. There is not a river walk entrance to the hotel. You have to come up to street level but it is right there when you come up the stairs from the river walk. I would definitely stay here again. The Hotel (Inn) is an Antique Facility with interesting things to see. The Place was clean and the Staff very friendly and helpful. The Coffee is great and always available. "Nice historic hotel"
The building was a neat old structure. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The cookies and lemonade in the afternoon were a nice suprise. The breakfasts were ok but the "hot dish" tended to be very small portions. The downside; the bedroom was only lit with 3 small lamps so was dark t read or use your leptop unless right under a lamp. The hotel is […] on a busy street and the trolly bus stopped frequently below my window for several minutes of rumbling (though after 9:00 it stopped). The air conditioner was loud but that decreased the bus noise. There was no wi-fi and had to check out a cord to get internet service. The staff was friendly and helpful. Liked the keypad front door and the riverwalk right across the street. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My wife and I stayed at the Riverwalk Vista for our one year anniversary. We like funky type of places (bed and breakfast types). This place is amazing. Good qualities - small charming place with nice staff in a great location (heart of San Antonio) and comfortable common/breakfast area. Not for you if you a) want a bathtub, b) want quiet (can hear traffic), c) need to park a car - parking is a couple of block away - and there is no place to load/unload your luggage near the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It reminded me of a bed and breakfast."
The room was comfortable and clean. It reminded me of a bed and breakfast. The only complaint I have is the noise from the air conditioner running all night was something I am not used to. Otherwise, everything was fine. Very close to the convention hall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
I was very satisfied with the cleanliness, size, and comfort of the room. The complimentary breakfast was also more than adequate, although I missed one day due to the start of my meeting. Maybe breakfast could be provided at 7:30 instead of 8:00. The staff were very helpful and courteous. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only problem was Saturday night was a lot of street noise. You had to leave the air conditioner on and they had a white noise machine in the room. Loved everything else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful hotel with unpleasant neighbors!"
I stayed at the Riverwalk Vista on a 3-day business trip. I was impressed by the aesthetic, cleanliness, and historic character of the building. The staff was lovely and unobtrusive. The room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. The breakfast was great, with some lovely homespun touches. The whole hotel is quiet and peaceful. My only criticism […] is the location of the hotel. Through no fault of its own, the Riverwalk is located in a very touristy, low-brow corner of Downtown San Antonio. As a result, drunks, revelers, and drifters are hanging out in front of the hotel at night and rowdy crowds of tourists are swarming on the street during the day. Since there is no on-site parking, the 4-block walk to the nearest garage was filled with annoyances and retrieving my car took an average of 30 minutes each time. If your objective is to stay in the thick of Downtown and be close to all of the tourist attractions, this may not be a problem for you as it was for me, but if you are looking for a more low-key San Antonio experience, it is something to consider. Again, I would like to stress that the hotel, its staff, and my room stay were all exceptional and lovely. If I could move this hotel to a quieter address, there is nothing that would prevent me from giving it a 5-star rating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This place is right in the middle of it all! 5 minutes from the convention center, across the street from the Riverwalk, and around the corner from the Alamo! My boyfriend and I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. We loved that there was a breakfast every day snacks and drinks available the rest of the day. I also found the common room […] very appealing for mingling with other guests. Also, I would take home the shower if I could. The only minor thing was the AC leaked, but hey, it's a historic hotel.
