Very comfortable and amenable to family travel. Clean and had all things necessary for cooking in if wanted. about 90 minutes from Yosemite, which was reasonably convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A pleasant stay"
The Little Valley Inn is located in a very pleasant secluded spot about half way between the Yosemite entrances to view the mountains and the Sequoia Redwoods. It is relatively near to Mariposa. The room and hotel are bot very pleasant and from that vantage point, I would recommend the hotel. ON the negative side, the air conditioner in our room was […] very noisy, so much so that it had to be turned off to speak in the room. The included breakfast could include a bit more than it does, such as a waffle maker. On balance, we did enjoy our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close enough to the major sights"
very helpful explanations from the owner. The only down thing was the nonfunctional WIFI service in the room, kept us unconnected for 3 days, in these remote locations where no mobile reception exists it becomes critical to have internet access.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
Very nice but a bit far from Yosemite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I will give it 3/5"
The hotel is just ok. It is on a road close to Meriposa. It takes more than 30 minutes to get to both entrances of Yosemite park. The beds are clean and comfortable. The decoration is nice. The owners need to spend more money on these rooms. They have plastic hangers that they collected from stores, and some are broken. They coffee maker needs to be […] replaced, and their coffee and tea are not inviting. The breakfast is ok. The owners are nice. It is an ok hotel , and It does not deserve the 4.5 rating that I saw on hotels.com. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value compared to our other options. It is not as close to Yosemite as some of the other hotels but it's also half the price. It's about 1hr 15 min to Yosemite destinations (curry village, Yosemite village) It was a pleasant experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming Hotel away from the hubbub"
We really enjoyed staying here. The proprietors live on sight and were available 24x7 if we needed anything, which we didn't. They were happy to give us directions to Yosemite and suggest things to see. The Hotel is equal distance between two different Yosemite entrances and about 5 minutes away from Mariposa. Easy to find. Free WiFI and breakfast. […] Very clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to Mariposa, Oakhurst & Yosemite"
Nice owners. Cozy room. DirecTV and wireless. We were visiting to compete in the Bass Lake Triathlon and found it convenient and about 40 minutes from Bass Lake. Inexpensive and a bargain compared with other places we have stayed near Yosemite. We would definitely stay at this hotel again but would like a closer hotel to Bass Lake if possible in the […] future. Mariposa is really a pretty nice little shopping and dining area that pleasantly surprised us because we had not planned to visit that small town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quirky and Quiet Getaway"
Interesting little "Bed and Breakfast". If you are visiting the Yosemite area and want to be away from the hustle and bustle this is a great spot. Woke to the sound of birds each morning. Breakfast was minimal but met our needs (cereal, bagels, juice, coffee, fruit, etc.) The grounds are very quirky and worth a stroll around to look at the different […] areas. Rooms are really small houses and were comfortable. You are about an hour away from Yosemite. We would stay there again if in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Without a doubt one of the most beautiful and unique hotels I have stayed in. Very comfortable, clean and extremely peaceful. The owner was very welcoming and caring and made you feel like home, not just like any other hotel. We had a wonderful time, thank you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Yosemite Weekend Getaway!"
The experience my partner and I had during our stay at the lovely Little Valley Inn was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we walked in to check-in we were warmly greeted and treated as family. My partner and I were trying to stay away from the typical corporate hotel chains and wanted to try out a small business and fell in love! The woman that […] greeted us and helped us with any questions about what to do and where to eat was the kindest person we had ever met. We also enjoyed the fact that the location was very convenient. It is near a local diner, gas station, and convenience store; literally 4-5 minutes away. We strongly recommend staying here and promise you that you won't forget it! Thank you for making our stay so fantastic! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Little Valley Inn Thank you so much for taking the time to post some feedback. It was a pleasure having you both, and we look forward to seeing you again for your next weekend getaway!
This was a little further out from town than we had thought but once found a very happy find. The room we had was the cabin, spacious, good bathroom, microwave and fridge. The breakfast was a happy start, the room well appointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Sehr nettes Hotel"
"Won't Stay Here Again"
07/09/14 Mary0Kate Paris
The inn is located between the south and west park entrances (it's an hour or more away from each entrance) and the rooms are clean, if a little tacky. The owners are, as another reviewer succinctly put it, sour. They have you pay up front, which is unusual, and they're happy to see you lose $100+ if you have to cut your reservation short one night. The owner proudly told us a story about another customer who was set to lose "hundreds of dollars" when he had to cancel a four-day trip prior to his arrival. This sounds egregiously unprofessional to me - usually a hotel will charge for only one night if a reservation is cancelled on the same day at the last minute. The point is, these people are not pleasant, and it ruins the experience. And there's at least one hotel that's nicer and prettier, closer to the park, and less expensive than this one.
"Very clean, quiet, and o.k. but not the best value"
06/09/14 happy672 Falls Church, Virginia
This hotel was very clean, and quiet. They only advertised a continental/cold breakfast and that is what you received - cereal, English muffins, packaged jams, hard boiled eggs, and slices of mellon - but after 3 days, it became quite tiresome and Hampton Inn looked wonderful by comparison. The place seems like a motel, because it is little units of two cottages that isn't attached to the main building, and they look cheaply built, but are perfectly comfortable and functional. There was good a/c and plumbing and the bed was good, so everything was comfortable, but it felt "rustic" and not like the bed and breakfasts I'm used to. There were nice organic toiletries. The owner was rather sour sometimes - and was annoyed when we arrived at 9:00 p.m. (because there was no signal in spots in Yosemite and we couldn't call). This place is o.k. - but would book direct and save $10 a night, which I saw posted on the door. I paid over $400 for 3 nights stay, and didn't feel it was a great value but it was better than the tent that was offered to me in Yosemite for a similar price.
"Family friendly and convenient location"
06/06/14 Jamnfam Kansas City, Missouri
We were looking for a nice place to stay outside of the park and we found it at the Little Valley Inn. They have a wonderful cottage for a small family and our two young boys loved being near the woods with a short, kid friendly trail to explore. The location is conveniently located between the South and the West entrance to Yosemite. If you are looking for something outside of the park that is very clean, quiet and has plenty of space to relax, this is it.
"good place - very calm and engulfed in nature"

Went there based on trip advisor reviews. Plan was to visit yosemite and hotels were very costly close to the park. Its abt an hr drive from here. the place was gud. Owner was very helpful in suggesting places to visit. BF was OK - wud have been great if there was some hot omeletes or something hot - like pancakes or waffles.
"New Mexico-"Very disappointed with Owner"
05/11/14 Gene G Albuquerque, New Mexico
We did not stay here because of the owner's attitude toward a $416.25 reservation that was miscommunicated. We called to confirm a reservation for June and the Owner said it was for May and why we did not let her know. Well we did not receive and email confirmation so we decided to call and confirm and she was very rude and inappropriate about the situation. She was on speaker phone and the whole family heard her say rude comments. She said "that she would get her money no matter what". We were disappointed with her attitude and she did not try to accommodate us or refund our money. Make sure you have your reservations correct or you will have the same thing happen to you. All the ones that we contacted (Hotels.com, credit card co.etc.) were also disappointed.

Stayed here the first week in September. The room was great. The Location was Great. and the owner was the biggest asset to the place. She was very helpful with suggestions on how to plan your day. Would stay here again and again and again....

Me and my wife stayed here for 4 nights while we explore Yosemite. It is a good impression you drive up to the house, it is well maintained. Colorful flower gardens, and a water fountain and our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The owner goes out of her way to make sure we enjoy ourselfs. You feel very out doors and have great shower and my wife really loved the bear decorations. The TV had always movies to watch. The wifi wasn't very fast but it was OK for our purposes . We would tell everyone to stay here
"Great place to stay"

My husband and I just stayed here with our little girl. Owner is lovely!! and very helpful. Gave us loads of information about the area which was great for us as we had limited time to explore so could come up with a plan before leaving the room. We were so glad we stayed here as have been to big cities mostly on our trip and were sick of rushed sometimes rude service. It was nice to meet some lovely small town people! Would recommend purely because of how lovely owner is but is also a great location!
"Unfriendly owner who changed once we paid our full bill on first day."
Never again. Owner was very rude and once we paid our bill she became very bossy and angry. Needs to consider selling her business if not interested in providing customer service. Came to your room at 10:55 and beat on the door, then proceeded to yell at me and told me that we must think we were above her. ?? She seemed mad that we walked in to breakfast to have a cup of coffee and a danish right at 9:30. She brought out some watermelon and asked us if we ate it all? Wow!
"Best Inn for a Family Vacation to Yosemite!"
07/13/13 Leah S Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
My family went on a vacation to Northern California this June, and could not have been more pleased with our experience at Little Valley Inn. We knew we wanted to spend a couple days exploring Yosemite, but because we had to fly in we couldn't camp, and staying at a hotel was going to get pretty pricey…Lucky for us, my dad found Little Valley Inn online, and we went for it! Christine was AMAZING. She had this amazing binder with all the details on the best hikes to take in Yosemite, and sat down and talked with us offering some tips on great day trips. We took that binder with us wherever we went! Christine was also always available to answer our questions and help us out. Breakfast was provided every morning, and there was always plenty of variety and tasty things to eat. As far as our other meals went, we went to a local grocery store that Christine recommended, and were able to buy all our food for the few days that we were there. The room we stayed in had a full kitchen – equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, tableware, cabinets, and a table. It was awesome! It made it so we didn't have to eat out all the time, and made planning our meals for our hiking days very easy. And overall, the room was fantastic. Everything was very clean. There were two queen beds, and one couch that had a pullout bed. There were also night stands and a television available. The bathroom was spacious, and also very clean. Shampoos and soap was provided, as well as towels. Little Valley Inn as a whole is also very “green” – there were little reminders to turn off the lights, and she only washed your towels every day if you threw them in the tub – so there was the opportunity to conserve water. Overall, I would highly recommend Little Valley Inn to anyone who is going to be travelling in the area. It was relatively close to Yosemite, and close to the little town of Mariposa with some fund shops and restaurants. For a great family vacation spot – check out Little Valley Inn!
