"Not terrible but room for improvement"
The microwave sounded like it was going to explode. When we notified the manager, her recommendation was to just use the microwave in the public area, that's it. We paid for a room with a microwave and didn't get one. And I could hear the people in the surrounding rooms. I've never been in a hotel where I could hear the guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best property I have stayed at recently."
Very clean and comfortable room. Good WiFi speed. I'll be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was disappoited i the factm that our room was not ready when we arrived. We were a couple ofb hours early but there wasn't a single car in the parking lot. The pool had no umbrellas to block the midday sun. I felt that the staff wasn't all that concerned with the customer's comfort. We had to wait one day in the lobby while our room was torn up waiting […] for the staff to finish cleaning our room. Almost an hour while the staff was eating thr=eir lunch. I feel they should have either finished cleaning our room or waait until they had eaten their luch brfore starting on our room Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible stay in Gadsden Best Western."
I checked in at around 8pm and the a/c had not been turned on in the room and it was over 80 degrees. When I called and complained the Manager, Cecil, came up and did not appear to know what to do. I insisted that maintenance be called and they arrived and said that the a/c was doing all it could do. The room was so hot that it would take a while to […] cool off. He at least provided a fan. The bathtub would not drain and you stood in 10 inches of water during the entire shower. I deserve a full refund for this stay. The room was unbearable most of the night with the heat. When I checked out the next morning and explained the terrible night, the desk person said there was nothing she could do. That I would have to spend the night miserable because no one bothered to check the room is appalling. Absolutely horrible experience!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was nice, staff was very friendly and helpful. Little too chilly for swimming, but volleyball area, horseshoe pit and bbq available outside. Located close to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Can't go wrong here"
My work takes me to many different places so given the geography for where I needed to be, this stay represented one my best travel values this year. If you're looking for a very clean, well maintained hotel for a comfortable stay for an extremely fair price, I can highly recommend this Best Western Plus location and I will certainly look to stay there […] again on my next pass through this area. "Great Hotel with Excellent Service at a Great Price!"

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We reserved a King Suite and were very pleased with our room. #102. The hotel is newer and is very well appointed. Our bed was very comfortable, the room was quite large and the separate sitting area was such a nice perk for us. Also, I can't say enough about the great service we received. I can't remember the young lady's name that checked us in, (Something like Deeonka) but she was very sweet and had us checked in and to our room very quickly. The young lady who checked us out the next day was equally nice and helpful. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in the area. Kudos to the whole team at this hotel. Our stay was excellent!

Great place to stay for girls weekend playing Bingo. Very clean, nice breakfast & friendly staff. Check in & out was easy and fast! Located just off the interstate and only about 15 minutes away from a Bingo Hall for a nice weekend getaway. Hit the Gadsden Mall during the day and caught a movie. Hotel was a nice addition to a wonderful weekend!

Clean, updated accommodations. Fast, friendly check-in. Rooms were nicely furnished with modern decor. Excellent free breakfast and also close to several restaurants within 10 minutes drive with a couple of places within walking distance. Large well lighted parking lot, conveniently located just off the interstate with easy off/on access.

Check in was easy. Room was very clean. I loved the little extras, sanitized remote control, mints bedside, extra towels upon request at no extra fee, and the breakfast bar food was good and hot. Check out was even easier.

My husband and I stayed here during our grandson's baseball tournament and found the hotel to be very nice. The room was huge and had everything we wanted or needed. We stayed here 4 nights and found all employees to be very helpful and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our starting point for the Route 127 Longest Yard Sale. I luckily made reservations in advance. They were a sell-out that night. Upon arrival we were greeted by George at the desk. Very friendly and helpful. Suggested great restaurants and tips about doing the Sale. The fresh cookies were a nice touch too. The room was very nice and the bed quite comfortable. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones of our 10 day trip. Upon checkout, the clerk was equally warm and friendly. I found the people of Alabama to be some of the warmest, genuine people I've met in my extensive travels. Thanks Gadsden .
"Right off the highway"

Needed a night's stay, not far off I-59, and this Best Western fits the bill. Easy to find and near enough to restaurants & gas, we've now stayed here 3 different years while shopping the World's Longest Yard Sale that starts in Gadsden. Nice room, sofa, comfy chair, desk with updated chair, large turnable TV, clean bath and clean mini frig. Bed was a bit soft for us, but slept just fine, except for air conditioner that was almost up against the bedside. A bit noisy during click on & off. Breakfast was okay. Mini muffins, hot biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, etc OK. No black tea bags were a disappointment, as I do not drink coffee. Only had green tea. Oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins and dried cranberries was a nice addition. Though waffle mix tasted a bit sour, so that was trouble. Nice eating area though, remodeled since last year's stay. Overall, nice for a night's rest. We'll return.
"Under Renovation, But Okay"

This hotel is not 100% non-smoking. We were told that part of the third floor has smoking rooms. One elevator serves the 3 floors. Hotel has a covered drive-thru and automatic doors for easy entry/exit. 3 luggage carts were available. The lobby is somewhat small with limited seating. We loved the three friendly ladies at check-in who were also very helpful. Also, enjoyed the cookies and 24/7 coffee during the check-in process. There is an outdoor handicap-accessible pool but no jacuzzi. Fitness center had 4 machines and free weights. Two computers were available in the private business center. There were restrooms for both men and women. Do your laundry here. There was an outdoor patio with a BBQ grill. Could enjoy playing a game of horseshoes or volleyball. Appreciated having a guest book in our room. Our room with king bed had a desk with an arm chair, floor lamp, flat screen TV with decent channel lineup, 2 night stands with lamps and a clock, microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board, 3 drawers for storage, a rocking chair, coffee and tea, and a full mirror. The carpet looked like it might have been a little dirty and maybe a few stains, but not bad. The bath was all in one with a tub/shower combo. It was decent size but the lighting could have been a little bit brighter. Had a large mirror and decent vanity space. Had one towel bar and 2 hooks and a hair dryer with a night light. Good variety at breakfast. Biscuits and gravy, waffle maker, bacon, scrambled eggs, (seemed a little watery, though), good potatoes, muffins, toast, bagels, cereals, cooked oats, yogurt, juices, and fresh fruit. Would definitely return in the future.
"Still a chain, but they're trying"
08/05/14 Candonjan Salmon Arm
There seems little purpose in reviewing chain motels since, with their same pretentious columned designs, identical minimal breakfasts, and similar cheap furnishings and creepy pictures, there is little to distinguish them from one another. And indeed, we avoid these places as much as possible, heading instead for historical properties, independent hotels, or B&Bs. But sometimes, late at night in rural Alabama, you just want a place to sleep, and so we pulled into the Gadsden BW. (Actually, it is not located in or even particularly near Gadsden, but that's another issue.) And to be fair, at least this place is trying to distinguish itself. A nice outdoor veranda adjoins the breakfast area, where you can eat breakfast and enjoy coffee or, if so inclined, play some volleyball or horseshoes in the yard. Environmentally, at least they have eschewed styrofoam for paper plates and cups (though as I wrote in my review of the Missoula BW, which uses real ceramic mugs, glass glasses and stainless cutlery and the tumblers in your room arereal glass, "Now come on, other BWs, if Missoula can do it, so can you"), even though the one-use plastic cups in the bathroom are swathed in plastic wrap. I always like a hotel where the windows open, and after pulling on the handles here, I realized they had been screwed shut. Oh well. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful (though most of the nearby restaurants close at 9:00), and the stay pleasant.
