Home to some of London's most famous institutions —the Houses of Parliament (Big Ben), Westminster Abbey, and Tate Britain— Westminster is busy by day and quiet by night. Buckingham Palace is located across lovely St. James's Park; Whitehall leads to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, passing 10 Downing Street and the Queen's mounted troops at Horse Guards on the way. The streets around Victoria Station offer hotels to suit all budgets.

We went on a girly weekend and loved the hotel - the room was comfortable (although it took a couple of attempts to get the twin beds we had booked). A great bonus was the pc with internet access. It was so useful for looking up restaurant details and how to get places. The bar upstairs was super although a little expensive but this was a special treat - and it felt like one.

Great hotel and convenient only if you know how to get there. You can easily get lost. Fantastic breakfast place nearby- got to try out the Regency Cafe. Great Indian food restuarant nearby by as well: Cimmamon (expensive but good) and Millbank Indian Restaurant (much less expensive). Hotel staff was good. Clean rooms but small bathrooms. Would recommend the hotel others.

I've stayed there many times before, and each experience has been a great one. Only problem this time was that the free internet connection was down for several days. The internet was available via the Mac's in the room, but not via wired or wireless connections so I could use my laptop. It may seem out of the action, but the bus routes connect easily to the center city.

We went to London to celebrate our anniversary, and the City Inn was the perect location to do so, a short stoll along the river to Big Ben etc, and very close to Pimlico tube. The room was clean and had all we needed, the free rental DVD/CD's were a nice added touch, along with the free internet. The breakfast was superb, the staff all very helpful. Would certainly return.

On the plus side, the rooms are large, the design is quite smart if not entirely original, and the iMac in the room allowed me to leave my laptop at the office. On the other hand, you're a 15-minute walk from a Tube station, the service felt a bit curt, and the concierge didn't go through too much effort when I needed to find a SIM card on a Sunday. If your destination happens to be nearby it's probably a good option for you, but I didn't find the supposedly distinctive touches of the hotel merited the inconvenience.

We visited the City Inn with friends and didn't quite know what to expect from what looked like a business hotel. Why did we worry. From the moment we checked in until the time came to reluctantly check out, this place was an absolute pleasure. From the smiling young man on the reception desk to the charming and polite chambermaids, the staff were plentiful, polite, cheerful and efficient. The room was ultra-modern and immaculate, and the food was of excellent quality, while in the lounge bar we were treated like royalty. I really cannot fault the City Inn and look forward to the next visit with relish. Well done.

The room and bathroom were well presented and very clean - you also have the benefit of an IMAC with free internet access. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone

Upon arrival was impressed with the modern and minimalistic lobby. Greeted by checkin and given room prior to the designated arrival time. Lovely suite, with very comfortable bed, IMAC, lovely shower, adjustable temp of room. We didnt get food at hotel as was rather expensive on our budget - however it was very popular and looked lovely for couples. Only fault was that we were woken up at 6am by the machinery adding cladding to the building. They held our bags upon checkout so we could look around some more of the City. We even saw Mr Motivator checking in upon our departure ;o)

While The City Inn is located very conveniently to Big Ben & Westminster Abbey, the location was the only really good thing about it. The folks at the concierge desk did not appear very knowledgeable about local restaurants and shopping. When we asked about local shopping, we were directed to Edgeware Road via the Tube. When we got off, it was a less than desirable neighborhood, certainly not what we expected. It was not a quality recommendation, and being just one of a few such blunders, we just stopped asking for their advice. Other than that, it was a nice, clean facility. The food at the restaurant was decent, but the exchange rate was painful.

Stayed at the City Inn for 2 nights over Easter weekend with some friends. Hotel was a little hard to find, but conveniently located once we found it. Great location in Westminster. Short walk to the Westminster tube station. Rooms were comfortable (if small, but you expect that from European hotel rooms), modern and clean. Very "W"-ish. Hotel staff was very nice. We had asked if anyone had a deck of cards and not 10 minutes later a staff member brought one to the room. Good customer service.
