"Loved it,everything about it,the location,staff."
Fantastic, staff, food, rooms so comfy loved everything about it. The children aged 6 and 10 said it's the best hotel ever. The food was lovely a great choice of breakfast something for everyone, the diningroom is beautifull and the staff have it well organised,if tables are full you give your room number and sit in the lounge and they shout your room number […] when a table is ready which is only minutes,so there are not people walking around looking for tables.then you are escorted to you table all clean and set up ready no waiting for them to clear it and reset it up. We will be back soon a big thanks to all involved. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Good Find in all the Rubbish Around"
I stayed here by chance as the hotel I normally stay at just outside Blackpool was full. This was a good choice considering the location and the generally run down Blackpool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff good, very clean, breakfast great. It is in perfect area if you have children as it is right next to pleasure each but as a couple we walked for 10 mins along beautiful promenade and used casino for food and entertainmentGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean & quiet"
Best hotel in blackpool, good nights sleep and size of rooms at reasonable rate + parking and a very good breakfast. Staff were accommodating to needs of hotel rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff were exceptional, hotel itself was beautiful. We had a fantastic stay for 2 days, location ideal right next to the pleasure beach and surprisingly quiet. The only issue we had was finding a parking space, there doesn't seem to be enough given the capacity of rooms. Highly recommend this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent for Pleasure Beach..."
Great Hotel, lovely staff, great breakfast, restaurant had a good selection for evening meals. Would have liked some evening entertainment. Our daughter being 3yr had us back in the hotel around 7pm each evening. Had there have been some evening entertainment would could have settled there for a while rather than the room..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Near to pleasure beach and parks and comfortable"
Me and my family had a wonderful time in the hotel...liked the breakfast...suited everybody's needs...Genuine Expedia guest review
Both my partner and daughter are really fussy eaters but with the fantastic choice at breakfast they had plenty to choose from. Rooms could do with a mini fridge and then the hotel would be perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Staff are Exemplary. Thank You, Big Blue."
Family of 4 - M, D and 2 teens - very picky about cleanliness, quality of staff and standard of accommodation. No worries here! 2 rooms on second floor at rear of hotel, both overlooking the Pleasure Beach rollercoaster. Very well designed room to include usual drink facilities, hanging space, contemporary en-suite, dressing table and bedroom. Also […] included; separate desk/office area, mini lounge with remote control fireplace, area rug, comfy easy chairs and footstool, iron and board, gleaming white linen and towels, contemporary window and room decor. Ate at the hotel restaurant both nights - fabulous ( Chicken Stroganoff, Roast Breast of Duck, Slow Roast Shoulder of Beef, Roast Belly of Pork, Cod Loin special... and the Bailey's Creme Caramel - Sublime!) A fabulous stay. Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley was a beautiful day out in this part of the world - recommend that too! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not 4* in my opinion"
Although the location was great, the hotel is starting to show some wear round the edges. They say it's the little things that make a good stay, but here it's the little things that all add up to it not being as good as it should. Most of the time there was only one person on reception, with queues of people waiting, some of whom only wanted the exit […] code for the car park. I waited 10 minutes one day for the code, which I then found out wasn't changed daily. The bed was very uncomfortable (springy and noisy) and we only had one pillow each. Although it stated in the booklet you could ring down to housekeeping to obtain additional pillows, each time I tried to ring the phone rung until it cut off so I didn't bother again. In the room service menu it stated £5 room service but on the bill, the first night they charged £6.10 with no explanation. We had one meal in the restaurant and while the food was nice, we were left with the dessert menu for 30 minutes. We eventually had to call someone over to take our order. I'm a well seasoned traveller both in the uk and abroad and to be honest one of the larger cheaper hotel chains gets it way better than the big blue. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Second time we have stayed here and we love it. Attention to detail and staff friendliness are excellent. Very comfortable room overlooking the pleasure beach with a separate room for our daughter with bunk beds and 2 TV's. Food in the restaurant was also very good, we had both an evening meal and breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel and […] wouldn't stay anywhere else in Blackpool. "Hotel next to Blackpool Pleasure Beach"
Big Blue Hotel - not only next to the Pleasure Beach park, but practically in it! Our room at the back gives a rider's view of the roller coasters. The Park is only open at the weekend at this time of year, thank goodness - it would be really noisy, but some people might like that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and quiet"
Out of season so quiet but very impressed. Staff friendly and very impressed over all. I am sure when the pleasure beach is open it is louder but very pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast was poor as a lot of things were extra price, such as an omelette , come on big blue sort breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
If you know Blackpool you'll know that most of the hotels and B&Bs aren't great. I thought we'd give the Big Blue a try on the strength of the positive reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly reception staff, comfy big room, good bathroom and shower, hearty self service breakfast and great location for the Pleasure Beach. The only issue we […] had was getting dinner on the Saturday night. We were told by reception when we checked in that they recommended booking a table for dinner as it may be busy. Most hotels say that to secure a booking and I usually find that there's actually no problem just turning up however on this occasion we went down to the restaurant at 8pm to be told they had no tables at all for the rest of the night and that was pretty normal on a Saturday even in low season. We were told we could order room service but that there was a wait of over an hour for food being delivered. In the end we gave up and went out to get take away and ate in the room which wasn't quite what we'd planned. Should have listened to the advice to book I guess! Parking was also a bit of an issue with no spaces left at all when we returned in the evening. The hotel manager moved his car to allow us to get a space which was helpful but anyone arriving after us would have really struggled. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Our stay at the Big Blue"
The hotel is well located beside the amusement park we were just down as a couple in a double room but seen some of the family rooms as we passed and the bunk beds are located round a corner in the room so you could put the kids to bed but stay up yourselves. The rooms have DVD players which again is handy if you've kids Never had an evening meal in […] the restaurant but the breakfast was first class The staff were all very friendly and helpful Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Second stay at the Big Blue"
After a great stay last year we went back with some friends. Great hotel, nice rooms & a great breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed just one night back in october - just a short trip to see the illuminations as we had not been for years but saw it on corrie and decided to go! Lots of kids in the hotel, which i dont usually like, but only to be expected in Blackpool I suppose. Great room, really comfortable and right at the start of the lights. My only disappointment was breakfast, […] not the food but the 45 minute queue! Never had to queue for breakfast anywhere before, and not really sure what the problem was, just too many people and not enough tables I assume. All in all, probably great for families, but not quiet enough for me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A fabulous hotel would highly recommend"
I took my mum away for a little break before Christmas and the hotel ticked every box. On arrival we had been upgraded to a superior room it was on ground level for my mum which was great as she does not like lifts. Staff were all professional and approachable. Breakfast was of a good standard and I would recommend the cocktailsGenuine Expedia guest review
Lovely Hotel but in the winter it is quite away from the attractions that are open. In the summer this would be ideal for the pleasure beach and the waterpark. The rooms were nice and big, lovely big bed in the main room could do with a door on the kids area. Nice breakfast too and nice friendly staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel next to pleasure beach"
When we first booked the hotel it was a kind of "lets just have a quick get away break " and as we rambled through the choice of hotels this one stood out at us. Now bearing in mind it was out of season, missed the lights by a week, and the pleasure beach was closed. We had a fantastic stay in this hotel. We were running a little late and didn't arrive […] at the hotel until half nine Thursday evening. We were greeted and made very welcome by reception. The room was immaculate, bathroom spotless and very well decorated through out, nice touch with the fire as well. Our room was on the fourth floor, and as regards to the view, well there were no sandy beaches, but a view of the pleasure beach roller coaster lines and tracks through French doors. Brilliant!!! Ok, it would be noisy, and if you were staying in season for a quiet stay it would not be for you. But as we are big kids at heart we were fascinated by it, but really disappointed that the rides were not running. We would have loved to have sat looking out of the French doors of our room, glass of wine in one hand watching people whizzing by and having fun on these rides. Breakfast was spot on, the restaurant clean and tidy and the staff friendly, and efficient. A little pricy, but hey, you get what you pay for. The hotel position is great, a stones throw away from bus and tram stop.Anyway, we will be staying again, in season this time, with two teenage daughters who I'm sure would love the hotel and room. Great family room, brilliant layout for two adults and children, as it enables the kids to go to bed whilst Mum & Dad stay up, watch TV etc! Nice modern feel, breakfast was lovely, staff couldn't be more helpful. Reception lady offered to provide warm bedtime milk for my toddler to save me going out in the dark to find a shop for a pint of milk. Parking […] was plentiful and we found a space easily, didn't eat lunch or dinner in the hotel but the menus looked nice and catered for children too. Makes a change to find a nice contemporary hotel that welcomes children (along with the occasional mess they bring!). Will return again in the Summer. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall very satisfied"
We had 5 rooms. They were very well thought out. Only problem was in 3 of the rooms (all superior family rooms though we were only using the main beds) the main bed was not comfortable in that the mattresses were 'springy' and quite hard. The other 2 rooms, a double and a de luxe family, didn't have this problem. Maybe the mattresses are being gradually […] changed. Otherwise breakfast and service were great. The staff were very helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"BOUTIQUE???? Maybe Not!!!"
They call it a "contemporary boutique" hotel.... HARDLY!!! It's a long way from being a boutique hotel with 5 star luxury and individually designed rooms.... but it's also a long way from the lower end rooms that you usually get in Blackpool. It's really a large Premier Inn PLUS. The rooms are great (especially the family rooms) but the look and feel […] of the place is just bulk standard chain hotel. HOWEVER the restaurant during my stay left a lot to be desired.... there was actually more OFF the menu than on.... no point in having a menu of the day when it's almost all gone!! And a whole page of cheeses to choose from.... no sorry, NO CHEESE. (Perhaps Wallace & Gromit stole it all ). My room would have had a great view of the Big Dipper had the windows been cleaned this year.... but nevertheless it was quirky!!! Would I stay again.... YES, if the price was right... but I would eat elsewhere!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Head and shoulders above rest"
The Big Blue is the best hotel I have stayed in, in Blackpool by a country mile. Having said that, we got a great rate due to the Pleasure Beach being open until midnight, which we were warned about before we went. However the fact that the "Big One" came roaring past the window every two minutes, did not bother us in the slightest, and to be honest, […] with the window shut, the sound proofing was entirely adequate. The room was very luxurious having been given a complementary upgrade to a delux double, we did not want to leave. The breakfast was a buffet affair, which suits us because we can gorge on the bacon and sausage, and ignore the healthy yoghurt etc. Over all, it was a very pleasant stay and we would not hesitate to stay there again. "Fairly happy, but a little over-priced"
Stayed for just one night in a family room during half-term to see the illuminations. Its a tidy hotel with nice staff who were happy to help with our requests. The restaurant was good, high quality food for lunch and a decent breakfast. The room size was fine, and the bunk-beds for the kids is a nice touch. However, there's no easy space for a travel […] cot and the mattress on the adult bed was well passed its best. Its a safe bet in a town where there's a real mix of quality but look for a discount as I'd say its a bit pricey compared to other places offering the same facilities. Our third stay at the Big Blue which says it all really. Our 1st choice hotel in Blackpool. Excellent location, the family rooms have great views over the pleasure beach park. Rooms very comfortable and housekeeping […] is to a very high standard. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
