"Nice Area Close Tube"
The apartments are in a good area with a close store and tube station. The rooms are a bit disappointing at they are not as spacious as the pictures make them look. The carpet was pretty bad and the fridge had a broken door. It was a good option for our family as it was a living space different than you would get at a regular hotel. We didnt spend much time there so overall it was an ok facility.

"Very close to London Underground (Tube)"
The service at the hotel was excellent. The beds were comfortable. I appreciated the convenience of the breakfast room, and the choice of a continental or full English breakfast. The London Underground (Tube) Bayswater station is right around the corner. There are many restaurants within walking distance as well as a small grocery store.

"Good value - convenient location"
The hotel was as advertised and the staff was courteous and took care of us very well. The location was excellent in short walking distance of both Bayswater and Queensway tube stations and there are a lot of restaurants and pubs close by. The 4 or 5 times we used a taxi we didnt have long to wait as there are a number of other hotels nearby and a lot of taxi traffic. The only minor hits I would give to this hotel is the bed was harder than my liking and the Internet access while free, was very slow in the evenings. Overal though the Grand Plaza was good value for money and we enjoyed our stay.

Was there on a family vacation. Having a full service flat really helps keep costs down with being able to cook meals in instead of eating out all the time. The area is vibrant and easy to access all parts of London, whether walking or jumping on the tube or bus. Plenty of restaurants of every variety & pubs nearby.

"Convenient. That's it."
There is nothing exceptional to say about this hotel except that it is conveniently located near Hyde Park and Queensway. The hotel is designed in a VERY poor fashion and arriving to your room is achieved only after figuring out a way through the maze. We checked-in around 11pm. The receptionist provided very poor directions to our room, instructing us to go down an elevator that we did not, in fact, have to take. We had a significant amount of baggage with us and no one even offered to help or to show us the way to our room. Upon arrival in the room, we were disappointed. The room looks NOTHING like the pictures on their website. It was a room on their "G level" but if felt like we were in a basement. We left all of our baggage in the kitchen area because there are stairs to access the bedrooms. Each bedroom had a door to the hallway, in addition to the main door to the suite. This was strange and left us feeling unsafe. If you have children, this is NOT an ideal accommodation for you as they can leave from their rooms without you knowing. Luckily, our reservation was only for a short stay.

The rooms looked nothing like the pictures shown on the hote's website. Even though they're fairly clean, the rooms are very small and not very well furnished. We didn't even have a comfortable sofa to rest on at the end of a long travel day. The TV programs were terrible. Nearly half of the channels available were shopping channels. The DVD player in the room also didn't work with DVDs we brought from the US. The worst were the creaking floors. The hallways were also extremely narrow. If there's anyone walking by your door, you'd definitely hear the loud creaking. The staff at the hotel however, were very friendly. The breakfast was also very good.

We enjoyed our stay at the grand plaza. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was pleasant. The hotel was a short walk from Queens way with lots of shopping, food, and bus service. Overall the hotel service was great. It was walking distance to one of the more central Underground Stations and was easy to get to. The room was the perfect size for two people and could work great for long-term stay. I will say that the beds were pretty firm which isn't something I'm used to but if you don't mind firm beds then it doesn't really matter! Overall great stay =)

"The Grand is overrated."
Good location. One staff member, a young lady, was extremely helpful but she was the only one. The rest we found to be complacent and indifferent. The elevator was extremely slow and most times full or in use. We didn't mind the stairs most times but I would not recommend to weary travellers. The internet was down for 3 days of our 5 day stay! Absolutely terrible. Had to work at a nearby coffee shop to conduct business. Very annoying. Could not get a receipt upon check out since the attendant said that the printer was in use and would take 4 or 5 minutes. (On the way to catch a flight at 6am) Had to pay by credit card for the incidentals just to get a credit card terminal receipt otherwise he couldn't provide one if I paid cash. - Not sure about that! I have my own business and it did not sound legit. Rooms was very nice and comfortable and good location but overall, I wouldn't stay again. I wouldn't intentionally deter others especially if they find this to be a good price compared to other places. Not for me though. Thank you.

"Perfect base for our London family trip"
The hotel seemed very good from the website, and was advertised as "luxury apartments". Well, I have a different definition of "luxury" then the hotel owners, and this is not it. However: The hotel is 5 min from Bayswater tube, nice and clean and provide you with a room or two, a clean and fresh bathroom and kitchenette (but without the advertised dishwasher). There's also a nice selection of restaurants around Bayswater Tube Station. The personnel at the hotel was very helpful and friendly, providing assistance for all our needs. The continental breakfast was as good as a continental breakfast can get, with real cappuchino, latte and other coffees being made and served by hotel personnel. All in all good value for the money, and we only spent about 2 hours in the room each day except from when we were sleeping.

The Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments were great. We three women enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again. The staff were friendly and helpful in all ways. "great location but really needs a remodel!"
This hotel is in a great location, close to 2 tube stops (Queensway and Baywater). The surrounding neighborhood was great, staff service was average. The apartment we rented had dirty carpet, was desperately in need of painting, had an old, stale smell with a very strange layout that required you to do multiple steps within the unit. The kitchen was poorly equipped with a broken hot pot and very few kitchen implements.

"More room than usual for London"
The one bedroom apartment did have sufficient room and had everything you need, but the bed was not that comfortable, the carpet and sofa was really worn/dirty and there was no air conditioning. They did provide a "cooler" (fan that uses water), but you still could not get the room below about 76-78F (this is in September). The bathroom was good, with a regular shower and tub. There's a hostel or something next door so if you open your window at night (to get cool) you can get a ton of partying noise till late. Hotel info said you could get wine by room service, and then found out the new owners cut out all alcohol sales. The continental breakfast was OK but nothing special for the price. It is very convenient to the Underground and a lot of shops are 2 blocks away.

"A beautiful hotel with access to everything."
What a great experience! With an athlete and a serviceman in the family, we travel a LOT, in the US and abroad. We were in London for Triathlon World Championships. Also happening in London was Fashion Week, so things were quite busy around town. But our hotel seemed uneffected. On our arrival we were greeted warmly and checked in quickly, even with a lobby full of other arriving athletes and guests. The hotel is a beautiful old building near the neighborhood of Notting Hill. It's quiet, and we felt quite safe walking there at night. It was close to Tube stations, shopping and restaurants, with things to do and see whichever direction you walked. And with the Tube nearby, you could visit any part of London in no time. Our room was small for 4 people, but normal by European standards, and fine for a family. It had a kitchenette, wi-fi, tv and dvd player. And comfy beds. You could also purchase great breakfasts in the breakfast room in the mornings. We slept soundly, not hearing much street noise or anything of our neighbors. Other perks were the towel warmer in our bathroom, and a launderette that would wash your first load of laundry for free. Also, housekeeping always came through without disturbing us. And you could get a map of the area from the front desk that had discounts to local restaurants. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! Each time we came back to our room, it was like coming home. The Grand Plaza was a great place to stay!

Own catering with good kitchenette in the room(we didn't try hotel breakfasts),a lot of good shoppings around, sometimes pizza on trip.Hotel electricity breakdown for a few hours one day in the morning. "A Nice Option"
Our accommodations were a two-bedroom apartment, a small common room with kitchenette between two bedrooms. Each bedroom had its own bath. One of the bedrooms was large with a huge bathtub in the bathroom, the other very small but also with its own shower and toilet. This was perfect for my daughter and me. It is in a nice location, just north of Kensington Garden, near Notting Hill. Although the breakfast is charged separately, it is excellent and reasonably priced. There are a number of dining options within a relatively short walk. Bus and underground stations to major attractions are also in close proximity. The facilities are clean and comfortable but not luxurious. We enjoyed our stay.

"Good for families"
Family apartment is comfortable for 2 adults and two young teens. Good locations with easy walk to well-connected tube stops. Stores and restaurants nearby. Neighborhood an interesting mix of residents and tourists. The staff was very nice. We enjoyed the continental breakfast. Booking thru Expedia gave us "VIP" status which meant half price for breakfast. Without that I don't think it would have been a good value The only problem we had was noise. On the ground floor we were not comfortable leaving the windows open so we needed the air conditioner, which worked well except that every few minutes it gave off a buzzing noise that made it difficult to sleep. We reported this to front desk and they said they would look at it but the problem was still there the next night. The people above us seemed to be playing basketball at times. In the morning there was a jack ER going somewhere nearby starting around 830 The pictures on the web make the place look a little snazzier than it really is. The photos are accurate, though. It's just that they put the place in the best possible light Despite the minor issues we woul stay there again and would recommend to families

Perfect for our family of 5. Location was key: 2 blocks to tube. Close to eateries, sandwich shops and a mall, which had a grocery store with good selection of fresh and prepared foods. We had a family room: one queen with the one bathroom (not best for traffic!) the kids were in attached room with the kitchenette and 2 double beds, a spacious set up for Europe. Our room faced front so with our windows open, the occasional streetnoise was heard , ask for a back room, if you want quiet. No A/C but ceiling and portable fans helped. Kitchen was nicely equipped free coffee packets was a treat. Baggage storage was nice convenience. Staff seemed indifferent but room was clean/modern, location is a beautiful neighborhood, felt very safe walking back from tube at midnight.

My family was traveling to London for a vacation, and this was perfect. There are many restaurants and a couple of grocery stores on Queensway Road near the hotel, so reasonably priced food was a short walk away - a big plus for a family trying to travel on a budget. The hotel was walking distance to the Portobello Road market in Notting Hill, which was a fun diversion. The room was clean and nicely appointed. My only complaint would be that one of the beds, a sofa conversion, was a little firm, but I just told my kids to tough it out.
