"Great Location, excellent staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed here on our honeymoon, couldn't have asked for a better place for the money. The staff was extremely helpful with speedy check in/out. Concierge staff was on their A game the entire time. Room was cleaned daily and very comfortable. The bar was nice but a bit expensive ( but that's London). Vauxhall tube station is only a five minute walk which isn't bad at all. There is a grocery store next door that has about everything you need. Was a great stay.

Famous for its hotels, Mayfair holds London's most expensive homes and, on Bond Street, its most expensive shops. But the tucked-away pubs, restaurants, and shops of atmospheric Shepherd Market offer affordable local colour, too. Sandwiched between several main roads, Marylebone has a village atmosphere and a charming High Street. Nearby attractions include Madame Tussaud's and the Georgian splendours of Regent's Park, including London Zoo.

Great big-city location for a reasonable price. Close to lots of shopping, parks and tube stations.
"Customer Service? NOT AT ALL."
While the location of this hotel is SUPERB, we had to move rooms twice in order to get a room with the following: temperature control (there was no heat in 2 of the rooms), hot water (NO hot water in several rooms) and no NOISE (construction taking place above the room we were in). The hotel staff at the front desk were helpful whereas the management […] were basically AWFUL. Read more
"Very pleasurable stay"
We were extremely pleased with this hotel. The rooms were spacious, we had a fantastic view of London from our 12th floor room, and the service was very helpful and friendly. There were a few minor mishaps (our TV and a couple of outlets stopped working on our second day, but they fixed it all by the time we got back in the evening; also, they said […] our room was ready but when we got up there -- before check-in time -- it had not yet been made up. But we were glad to be able to dump our suitcases and freshen up a tad and then go back out). The location is convenient to everything, and there are great restaurants in walking distance (we recommend Texture and Back 2 Basics). Read more
"St Georges, London ; comfortable and convenient."
Well situated but out of the bustle of Oxford Street. Upper floor rooms at the back are nice and quiet despite central location. The rooms are larger than usual in mid-priced London hotels; well kept, and a super friendly and helpful young staff. The only thing missing was provision for morning tea or coffee - not in rooms or lobby, though there are […] many coffee shop nearby. Read more
"Great Location!"
Terrific place that is close to Oxford Circus and all the shops on Regent Street. I must say the mattresses in the room were a little old, but the room was clean, well maintained and I look forward to visiting again soon.
"Hotel Saint Georges, Fitzrovia, London"
The hotel is very well situated just off Regent Street several blocks north of Oxford Circus. The staff were cheerful and considerate. All rooms are on high floors, thus quieter, with reliable lifts and lovely views of the city from the side we were on. We did not eat at the hotel, but found several good places for breakfast within 1-2 blocks. Also […] many good restaurants nearby, and a short walk to the theatre district and the shopping mecca on Regent, Bond, Oxford streets. Read more
"St George Hotel in London"
A great location, walking distance to main shopping areas, Soho, etc. The hotel was a great value compared to comparable hotels in this area. Next door is a very good Turkish restaurant worth trying.

"St. Georges on Regent Street - Great Location!"
I very much enjoyed my stay at Saint Georges (I was there 6 nights). The location is AWESOME, close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The room was clean and fairly spacious - much better than another hotel I had stayed at in London previously. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to London for work or pleasure! Next time I […] am in London, I will definitely look to stay here again. Read more

"Great Location without the frills"
This hotel is in many ways typical of London accommodation - rooms are fairly small, furnishings are a bit dated and amenities limited. There is only a very small reception lobby on the ground floor. The building is a drab 60's structure with the lower floors used as office space (for the BBC I think). That said, the location is excellent. Just one […] short block off Oxford Circus. This puts most of the West End in walking distance. Front desk staff were pleasant and efficient. From your room enjoy the view of the Langham Hotel across the street where guests are paying hundreds of pounds per night more than you!. Read more
"Great Hotel , just needs some updates!"
Great hotel , great location, walking distance to everything and decent rates! Room was nice and bathroom was nice as well just need some new carpet and mattress upgrades , maybe a little paint. Overall it is a great place to stay!
"Excellent location"
We stayed 4 nights in St. George's hotel and have nothing but good things to say. The staff was friendly, our room was clean and had nice furnishings. Our room overlooked the BBC studios, a great modern building. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but that was ok since there are plenty of decent restaurants in the area. The Underground stop Oxford […] Circus is about a 5-10 minute walk and suited our every need. One sight that is easy to miss is All Saints Margaret Street Church, just around the corner from the hotel. It is quite the architectural gem, unlike any church I've seen before. All in all for the hotel, a very positive experience. Read more
"St. Georges in London--reasonable, good location"
We've stayed here before and it's well located and very serviceable. The restaurant is a bit expensive for breakfast -- the buffet was 26 pounds for 2 and that's about $40. Less expensive options are right outside the hotel, so that's what we did. The rooms are fine if a bit dated. Last year we were here and one elevator was being updated. This year […] the other elevator was being updated. The entire hotel could use some updating but our room was quiet and that was important. Also, the price was reasonable. The room had wi-fi and a mini-refrigerator that was empty, in case you wanted to store your own snacks -- a huge thumbs up, as opposed to some hotels with a mini-bar that comes fully stocked and motion-sensitive to charge you if you even bump a bottle of water. "The Perfect Location Hotel with a few issues...."
I love this hotel....! I have stayed at three other hotels in London and this is the perfect hotel to stay if you like walking to the theatre, museums, and shopping on Oxford St. The staff is extremely personable and helpful. My only issues is that they only had one elevator working (which they said they were working on), the television reception constantly […] froze or the even turned off and would not come back on for hours (the staff said it was not their fault but rather the new satellite company the had installed). The rooms are spacious but do not expect High Tech Modern nor British quaintness...the rooms look as if they were done in contemporary 80's. But hey who stays in there room when they are vacationing in London. I highly recommend this hotel. Read more
"Worn out hotel, not even near luxury"
Hotel under construction, which I did not know about. Tried to nap during teh day, but noise woke me up. The only elevator was not always working, Everything old and worn. Bathtub has black mold under caulking etc.

"A very tired hotel"
aclearly seen better days has this hotel. Run down and not a lot of effort made for the customer. The rooms were awful, stains all over the carpet whiich actually spoilt it for us right from the start. Smoking smell in the room and on the whole floor. Great location but that is all. Never a 4 star 2 at best! Would never stay here again.....
"St. George's on Regent Street"
I chose to stay at St. George's for a few nights after my business trip was up. Since the hotel is highly revered the price was a bit much for two nights, but given the location and reputation it's quite understandable. The location was perfect: right on Regent Street just near Oxford Street, in the heart of London's shopping district. The Tube was […] only a few minutes walk from the hotel, making it an ideal central place to stay if you want to make a day trip to visit any of London's many attractions, museums, etc. The hotel itself was gorgeous and well-thought of around the area. The room was spacious and comfortable, with lots of room and worked perfectly for me for two nights. The staff was incredibly nice and professional, allowing me to check out a little later than check-out time and calling me a cab and checking up on it to make sure I made it to Heathrow on time. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Lovely for romantic getaways and business alike! Read more
"Saint Georges Hotel in London"
The Hotel was in a brillant location for high street shopping & underground, just minutes walk to Oxford Circus. Staff were very friendly, helpful & checked us in early. The room was a good size & clean & comfortable, perfect for a long weekend. Only down side were live wires exposed from the heated towel rail in the bathroom that was not connected […] or working. However we had a great stay & would definately stay again & recommend to others if you want to be in the heart of London. Read more
"Good Hotel in a Good Location"
Hotel was in a good location near the Oxford Circus Tube stop. Plenty of clean restaurants and pubs in the area. The room's A/C did not work very well but the windows opened up for some great views and fresh air. The bathroom and room were very comfortable and the staff were very courteous.
""Not impressed""
Excellent position for the main shopping of Oxford Street and Regent Street ,apart from that not very impressed! Only one lift working, bedroom was in very poor state of repair and in need of re-docoration. On the plus side the breakfast was excellent! Overall a very poor 4**** hotel.
"Make sure to say "NO SMOKING ROOM ONLY""
Great location... close to everything, yet you don't have to deal with the large crowds. The room is comfortable and quaint. But make sure when you book to say you only want a non-smoking room, otherwise you'll be stuck in a little, dark room with furniture reeking of stale smoke.
"Needs improvment"
The hotel is in a great location off Regent street it in the middle of the best shopping area. Unfortnatly the staff is not as porfessinal as should be. They couldnt find my reservation for a couple of hours while i was giving them the confirmation and many other things. I think you can get a better hotel for the same money.
"Fantastic location, walk to everything in London!"
This hotel was great. Staff were super helpful, we got a great rate through hotels.com but will stay here again, worth the extra $$ compared to other hotels in London because of the location & room was nice! Walk to excellent shopping, all the sights, Soho & Carnaby St restaurant around the cnr. Can't go wrong.
"St George Hotel"
Location was excellent, staff were extremely helpful Views from restaurant were superb and both food and service were excellent, although breakfast was a tad expensive (a bowl of porridge was only available when taking the full English breakfast menu!). We were given a free upgrade, so had a nice room. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
"Hotel saint Georges, London"
With its close vicinity to oxfordstreet and the tube it was the perfect place for the perfect price. The room was a bit chilly due to the English inabillity to use double plated glass windows, and there was no extra blanket. However this was a minor problem, otherwise we have no complaints, the hotel staff was very accomodating and the view from the […] bar/lounge/resturant was to die for. Sadly due to our schedual we had little time to try the hotel food, so we have no opinion about that. But the bar menu was WONDERFUL!!!! Drinks at a fair price and were wonderully made. Very much a hotel worth staying at. Read more
location is so good for shopping, eating. oxford circus station is near our hotel But redecoration inside rooms of upper floor now, it makes noise & dirty.

"Spacious Room-hard to find in London & good locat"
Our best hotel experience in London! The rooms had plenty of room for 2 large suitcases & carryon's without feeling cramped. Felt more like a 4 star hotel in the US.Free wi-fi in room & elevators were a huge plus! On top of all this, it was a short walk from the underground station. Would stay there again if we could get a good deal on price like we […] did this time. Read more
"Saint Georges Hotel - clean & great location"
Surprisingly cheap for a hotel in that location. The location was perfect. We could easily jump on a bus to other main attractions. The room was clean, and had everything we needed. Yes, it's a bit old, but everything was clean, which mattered most to us. There isn't a lobby area, just a reception desk and a few chairs. It can get a bit crowded in the […] reception area. "nice location"
great location, hotel staff were very nice...allowed us to checkout 1hr later... had a great time there.... the rooms are pretty smallish (standard ones) and old inside, but dont let this turn you away from the convenience and location on Regent St
"ok hotel; convenient location"
Good value, adequate, a little dated and worn, but more than adequate. Not especially fancy, but everything works. Great location.
"The Hotel in London - excellent for theatres"
This is an ideally placed hotel for theatres & shopping. The hotel has all amenities, comfort & friendly welcoming staff. Recommended. Restaurant food excellent, value for money on the set menu.
"good location, great price"
Hotel location is pretty good/convenient. the staff is friendly and helpful. overall is satisfied. room is clean but the only drawback are the furniture is a bit old.
"Thumbs UP !!"
The hotel was great though our room needs some refurbishment in terms of the deco and the beds needs some changes. Other than that, overall, we are happy of the location. It is nearby to most of the shopping centres, and also the restaurants. The Underground is just few steps away from the hotel.
"St. Georges Hotel, Regent Street, London, England"
Very nice hotel. Had a number of issues on check in but they were all resolved with a short time - like not enough skirt hangers, fridge not working etc. People were pleasant and the room was clean and neat. Check in and out were smooth and quick. Location was great for the tube and shopping.
"Great location St George London"
Stayed one night room 1212. Great location for West End. Maybe not for special occasions but will stay again for West End Shows (it's close to Oxford Circus)
"St Georges Hotel Langham Place London"
The room we were first allocated was dingy dirty and the bed was soft with dips and bumps and totally unacceptable. i complained and was initially told the hotel was full but I insisted that our room was changed it was not fit to stay. in. we were given a superior room and although small the bthroom had been refurbished and the bed was like new. However […] I would not recommend this hotel until the whole place is tidied up -state of paint on windows a disgrace and dirty net curtains Read more

"Fantastic location but in dire need of a refit"
This hotel is all about the location. Regent Street with Oxford Street a short walk away, it ticks all the boxes when it comes to being central. However, the hotel is let down by its condition. It is in desperate need of a refit to bring it up to date and to the standards of other hotels in the city. The decor is a bit tired and there were a few things […] broken, such as the sink. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable and the rooms were very small with old carpets. Read more

It was my first time in London, and we need to stay in London city which is close to attraction area. "Dated"
This hotel needs updating, it's tired and needs the decorators in for a good overhaul. The location is excellent, but for the money you can find much better hotels.
"St Georges - Oxford street"
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room ready 3 hours early. Only stayed one night - can't comment on restaurant or food as I didn't eat there. Good sized twin (slightly uncomfy hard bed though - but I'm just not used to hard beds). Clean and well furnished. Best thing was the location. Just walk 5 mins straight up the road from Oxford Circus […] tube station - fabulous! Read more
