Situated along a 720-foot stretch of Myrtle Beach, this family-friendly resort is 0.4 mile from Grand Strand, and 2.1 miles from Myrtle Beach State Park. The resort is popular with golfers drawn to the more than 90 golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area.
Hotel Features.
Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort features 22 water attractions, including indoor and outdoor pools, children's pools, lazy rivers, and spa tubs. The resort offers a summer program of supervised children's activities. Sunning lawns are dotted with lounge chairs and wooden stairs provide direct beach access. Cabanas and lounge chairs can be rented on the beach. A fitness center is on site. The resort's golf department arranges tee times at all of the Myrtle Beach area's golf courses.
Guestrooms.
Compass Cove offers 531 nonsmoking guestrooms, suites, and condos located in 3 buildings. The 4- and 5-story Schooner Building, has exterior corridors. Suites are located in the 16-story Pinnacle Building and condos are available in the 15-story Mariner Building. Accommodations offer private, furnished balconies or patios with full or partial views of the Atlantic Ocean. Other amenities include cable TV, refrigerators, microwaves or stoves, and coffeemakers. Wireless Internet access is complimentary. 2- and 3-bedroom units are equipped with washers and dryers, and full kitchens.

Compass Rose - Buffet and à la carte breakfast featuring southern specialties.
Crow's Nest - Casual restaurant and bar on second floor of Pinnacle Building. Lunch/dinner menu includes sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, and tropical drinks. Ocean-view dining room and open-air deck. Overstuffed leather chairs surround large-screen TV. Open daily from late morning until late evening.
Tiki Hut - Beachfront bar and snack bar serving hamburgers, hot dogs, tropical drinks, beer, and wine. Located on the pool deck on the ocean side of the Schooner building. Open from late morning to early evening daily during the summer and on weekends in the spring and fall.
This Myrtle Beach resort features 22 water attractions. An outdoor pool complex extending along the resort's beachfront adjacent to the Schooner Building includes sundecks furnished with lounge chairs and umbrella tables, two shuffleboard courts, palm trees, and hedges bordering and interspersing the pools. The complex comprises a 200-foot lazy river with tubes; two pools, one measuring 50 by 20 feet and the other 40 by 15 feet; and a children's pool.
On the street side of the Schooner Building, a solarium contains a 60-by-20-foot indoor pool, two four-person spa tubs; a children's pool with mushroom-shaped shower; and a 200-foot lazy river with tubes.
At the Pinnacle Building are two outdoor pools, one measuring 40 by 8 feet and the other 50 by 8 feet; a 15-foot-long outdoor children's pool with a mushroom-shaped shower; an eight-person outdoor spa tub; and a 10-person outdoor spa tub. Indoors is a 50-by-15-foot pool, a toddlers' pool, an eight-person spa tub, and a 12-person spa tub. Behind a glass front that's removed in summer are an indoor/outdoor 220-foot lazy river curling around a six-person spa tub and a children's pool with mushroom-shaped shower.
Arrayed along 720 feet of beach frontage, the resort includes sunning lawns furnished with lounge chairs and provides direct beach access over wooden stairs that protect fragile beach grasses. Cabanas and chairs can be rented on the beach. A water sports center a half-mile south of the resort offers a wide variety of rental equipment, including personal watercraft and windsurfers, and books parasailing flights and banana boat rides.
The resort's golf department arranges tee times at all of the Myrtle Beach area's 120 golf courses.

The hotel was okay for a weekend getaway. I was hoping to get some schoolwork done while my kids were asleep, but the wireless internet wasn't keeping a connection - even after contacting the nice support people. There was cleaning solution left in my room after housekeeping serviced the room (luckily my kids were old enough to know not to touch it). "Nice Place, but alittle out dated."
The rooms were very clean, but alittle out-dated. Very nice view of the ocean. The pool area looks bigger in picture than in person. It's in the quieter section of Myrtle beach if your unfamiliar with the area. Overall it is a decent place for the money they charge.
"Great place to stay"
My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Compass Cove. We would consider staying there again on our visit to Myrtle Beach. Room was very clean. Staff was extremely nice. Parking was great. Would highly recommend the Compass Cove to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice relaxing vacation.

"too little time to enjoy"
The room was in very clean condition and comfortable. We arrived late and we were hoping to be able to leave a few hours later the next day but were told to leave no more than 30 minutes later or be charged an extra day. We weren't happy about that but in all, the place was good and fun. It was near everything!

"Very Poor Sevice !"
Stayed the last week of March 2012 and that's when the nightmare began. First day there they almost sent my wife to the hospital after serving food she is highly allergic too.After calling it to their attention twice they sent the food back only to remove the top layer of the item and sent it back out only to cause an allergic reaction to my wife. The […] air conditioner in the room was broken and had to sleep in lawn chairs outside to stay cool. They replaced the air conditioner twice until they got one that worked. One day at the bar by the pool two subjects got highly intoxicated and started using profanity and derogatory terms at two homosexual subjects at the bar. The bartender waited before calling security and police to the scene. All this was in front of small children around the pool. There was no trash can in the bathroom in the room and resulted in repeated request just for a trash can. To be fair some of the problems were addressed by management but on the whole the service was nonexistent at this facility and for the pay you can do much better else where. This all happened just in 5 nights. Great location but very poor service and attitude by some of the staff. Better deals else where on the beach. . Read more

"A nice stay."

We had only been to Myrtle Beach one other time for just a couple of nights so we took a friend's recommendation to stay at Compass Cove. The service was great and our stay was good but the older part of the resort, the part in which we stayed, needs obvious updating and maintaining. We were slightly surprised when we looked up at the ceiling over the […] bathroom sink and saw plumbing pipes since the ceiling panel was missing. The hotel was nice. Our hotel room was clean and having an ocean front balcony was a great perk with a great view and relaxing sound of the waves. "MB trip"
We had a great time. The room and staff were nice. The full kitchen listed in the room description was missing the stove but we did have a microwave. Other than that - we would stay again in the future.

"Beautiful Ocean View"
We loved our stay here. We have already recommended it to our friends. It is an older hotel, but still very clean. It had plenty of options for swimming and it was a great place for our family. Very family/child friendly. It was so nice to have our children asleep in the bedroom while we had the living area to relax in.

I traveled here with total of 4 adults and 2 children, this place had exceed my expectations! There is things to do in this resort for all ages. My children loved the swimming pools all 23!!! I would highly recommend this resort and again and I would love to come back!

I got a great value in March with a discount on an ocean view suite. Loved all the amenities: ocean view, beach, heated lazy river, hot tub, heated indoor and outdoor pools! Full kitchen was very handy. Loved having 2 TVs. Check in and check out was super fast and courteous. Needed a code to use the free WiFi. Hotel was ok asked for extra pillows for fold out couch and was told they had none. was charged a$100 deposit for the room when we got there for damage per night because we were under 40 spent 2 hours trying to get deposit back we had to wait for the maid to clean the room before we were returned the deposit also no maid service the whole stay. poor […] service Read more
"If you want the best"
If you want that beautiful ocean view as shown in the pictures, make sure you book the Pinnacle building and not the schooner building. The Pinnacle building has suites that include a kitchen and a living area. The schooner rooms do not have either of these things. I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. No complaints at all! 3 BR Condo, very clean, very comfortable, side view of ocean, but still just enough to be happy with....will definitely stay again!

"Parking Only problem"
Hotel was very nice, especially for the price. All service personnel well trained and friendly. Only issue was parking, as their were three different areas to park, and all of them almost always full. But, it was sold out... so to be expected. Good place to go. I'd return.

The only thing I had a problem with was I had asked for early checkin because checkin time was 3:00 and we had a wedding to be at by 4:00. We got there around 2:00 expecting to be able to go on in and our room was not cleaned and didn't get ready until 2:45. This was on our reservation so they knew it. "compass cove"
My stay was very nice until I was bitten by something during my stay. I check out on Marth 5th and today is March 7th and my bite has gooten worst. Maybe a one time incident. But maybe will not recommend your resort.
The room was very clean. Have a couple of problems with the room, but it was taken care of no more the 10 mins after my call. Staff was very friendly. Will stay again.

"Great place to stay and unwind"
We had a couple of problems but they were handled very quickly. The room was clean and neat. Our only complaint would be that the sofa is old and in need of replacement. We had 5 adults and 2 children staying in our room and we had plenty of room even with a energetic 3 year old. The kids loved the pools and they had easy access. "Great Hotel"
Check in was easy - however - they do require a deposit ($100.00) that hotels.com doesn't tell you about. Biggest problem, we went out, got in about 4am and our key did not work. Called the front desk and the night clerk was VERY rude. Would recommend to other, just make sure your key works :)
