First off, let me preface this by saying we weren't intending on getting anything other than a plain hotel on the beach. So our expectations were just that, a room to sleep, free parking, easy beach access. Breakers had way more than we needed but we enjoyed it all. The kids barely went on the beach, the preferred to stay in the pools on site, the lazy […] river was a huge hit. Which allowed my husband and I to relax on the lounge chairs and have a few drinks. It was close to a lot of restaurants but far enough away from all the noise. We parked our car at check in and never went back to it until it was time to leave. We will definitely go back. Read more

We stayed one night it was rotten weather but there was so much to do at the pool my 4 year old daughter had a blast! We had an ocean front room it was clean and a great view! The staff was great very friendly and always helpful. This hotel strikes me as a reconditioned 1950's hotel. The outside of the six buildings looks good, the grounds are well cared for. Unfortunately, the rooms have not been significantly updated: the walls are textured sheetrock painted an ugly green, the bathroom tile and fixtures are from the '70s, the linens are cheap and apparently from the 70's. […] If you don't plan to spend time in your room, you should be happy, but if the room is important to you, look elsewhere. It was an okay stay we stayed on the Seaside building which is like old and dilapidated almost. Had a very pungent smell in the room. Didnt like that the parking garage was far and had no elivators. But the service was great and it was right on the beach which was lovely. Unfortunately I will not stay in that particular building again.

Used as a one night layover on our return home from Florida. Wish we would have stayed in this hotel on the way down as well. Arrived at 6:30 pm so not much to explore but the hotel was north of the boardwalk with very limited Hood Rats and teeny-bops prancing around or holding up their pants while walking (what's up this that, I thought that fad was […] over???) Anyway, 3 restaurants just up the streets in front of the hotel (3 min walk) with one being family friendly; Pizza, Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's cat-a-corner from the hotel; shopping complex, restaurants, putt-putt, etc. on the street over (one block up, across from hotel). Room was just your average hotel style but was clean, roomy, balcony facing the ocean, 32in TV, Queen Beds. All-in-all, a nice place to stay with multiple pools/hot tubs, and quite enough even during Spring Break nights. Read more

I have stayed at the Breakers several time. I love the location to Broadway and some of my favorite restaurants and shows. However, it's not close to the boardwalk... and it's no longer worth the price. The rooms are Ok... but certainly nothing special. The beds are super hard. The room was ok since we just needed somewhere to sleep and take a shower. It is an older hotel but clean. All the people working there were very nice. Bring your own coffee. They supply coffee maker, cups and spoon but no coffee supplies. Hotels.com do not specify there are multiple towers in the resort, or do they let you know what tower you will be staying in. I stayed in the Palmetto tower and it needed some major improvements. The doors were dirty, which made me not want to even enter the room. The sliding door that led to the balcony was on its last leg. I had to slam it just so […] I could lock it. Maybe I was given a bad room, but I don't think I will be staying there again. The walls were thin, and you could hear the conversations of the people next door as is you were part of their conversation. We had planeed on staying two nights for a weekend stay, but we checked out after the first night. I booked a room here because the hotel advertised that it had wireless Internet service, and I needed this to do some work during our stay. I was never able to access, and the Internet, and when I asked about this, the individual at the front desk indicated […] that this is a consistent problem. Also, when we checked in (Friday night), there were only two people at the front desk, so it took about 15 minutes to check in as many folks were coming in at about the same time. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom had nicely folded towels but hair in the tub and on the shower wall. Elevator only went to the 7th floor, my room was on the 8th, but was a very smooth ride. Beware: the hotel restaurant waters down their whiskey. Once you've tasted/smelled the local water you'll understand how obvious this is. The food was ok. May be one of the worst nights I have spent in a hotel. The bed was hard, the heater which was right next to my bed, clicked on and off every 10 minutes...all night long. There was a gap under the front door large enough to slide a short stack of pancakes under. This made the room drafty and noisy. I paid for 3 rooms for my employees on Hotel.com, for 49.00 a room, when they checked in they were charged 30 more dollars. When I looked at my charge account I was charged twice, once for $33.90 and another for $11.30. So to sum it up, we were charged the 49.00 plus tax for each room and then another 45.20 in surcharges. The door to our room was in poor shape. Light shone through every side and it rattled every time another door in the hall slammed. I wedged luggage against it to keep it from rattling. My husband & I loved staying at Breakers, so much we may stay there again when we visit Myrtle Beach. The front desk & concierge maybe were not top quaility, but overall my room was nice & clean, only complaint is hard towels, I was told by a fellow traveler this is done sometimes so people do not steal them.
