My wife and I loved the Silver Point. It was reasonably priced, and though the rooms were quite spare, they had everything we needed. The deck that is built right on the corner of Silver Sands Beach is excellent. We stayed at Silver Point for a long weekend and had a fabulous time. The hotel was wonderful and would happily recommend it. The beautiful beach area is very popular for kite-surfing...less so for swimming. There is nothing nearby to walk to so taking the bus or a taxi is a common reality. The distances getting around the island from the hotel can […] be daunting but we dealt with it. The area around the hotel is a little sketchy, especially at night, but it was safe and the people were friendly. It would have been nice if the service at the hotel was a little more proactive. No one ever walked around the pool / sun deck asking if we wanted a drink. A happy hour would have encouraged a more social atmosphere too. The food was fine but the menu was limited. The view from our room was spectacular and the front desk was always happy to service our needs and make reservations. The hotel is small and old, however I happen to like small hotels, could be more updated but for the price i paid I'm not complaining. People are friendly, as they seem to be all over Barbados, and only once did I get "attitude" from an employee when I asked if each me and my husband should get a coffee pot (rather than one for the both of us), my question […] would seem weird except the two mornings before that one when we ordered coffee each of us got our own large coffee pot (with up to 3 cups of coffee per pot) rather than one to share FOR THE SAME PRICE! After i NICELY pointed out that fact she stormed off and brought two teeny tiny pots (likely used to hold the milk), but it seems she realized the error of her ways as she didnt end up charging us for the coffee and was pleasant the rest of the time. So, aside from that little incident everyone was rather nice and friendly and genuine. One huge complaint is the food prices, they are pretty insane all around the island so this is not exclusive to this hotel but the prices were EXORBITANT (and I live in NY!), the food was good however (except the one time I got a fruit worm in my granola, but again in defense of hotel the granola was sealed so this is totally on Kellog's, and they didnt charge me for it and gave me a free fruit plate and the sweet waitress apologized profusely but this is totally not her fault so just steer clear of the granola and yogurt for breakfast). My wife and I were celebrating our third anniversary and decided to stay at this hotel based on comments we saw on Expedia. We were not disappointed. The staff was very professional and friendly whilst not being intrustive. The hotel is located on a secluded beach which was absolutely beautiful. Just 10 minutes driving from Oistins (great for seafood) […] and 20 minutes to "The Gap". We had three meals at the hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner; a little pricy but each one a delightful experience. WIFI is available on the hotel deck and works well. The locals on the beach tried to sell us coconuts, conch shells, jewelry, surf lessons, etc. but for the mst part they don't pester you once they know you aren't interested. We found this to be true at all of the beaches we went to . Terry, the cab driver who we used most of the time, was very friendly. We weren't sure what to expect since some of the reviews were somewhat negative, but we found it to be the perfect place to stay for a couple of days before flying to St. Vincent. We were pleased with our room selection, which was one of the ocean front suites. If you want a view of the ocean, you should definitely go with one of these, as it did seem that the rooms with a partial view didn't have much of a view at all. We ate almost all of our meals at the restaurant on the property, and while we found it a bit pricey (but not dramatically so since we are used to the prices in California), we thought the food was delicious. The service at the hotel was excellent. We weren't too concerned about the surrounding neighborhood (per the reviews) because we have been to quite a few Caribbean islands and had a good idea what to expect. We walked to the bus stop one evening through the neighborhood and felt completely safe. The locals are really friendly, and quite helpful if you need directions or recommendations. Nice, Clean, conveniently located if you enjoy surfing/wind surfing and kite boarding/surfing. You can do all of this right off the beach. I would suggest renting a car if you plan to venture out for dinners and excursions. Great Value for money especially after checking out some of the other Hotels and their ridiculous prices.

Silver Point is in great proximity to the BGI airport. It's only ten minutes away from the airport! The resort is located in the midst of a secluded and residential area where at night we could hear the neighbors dogs and some conversations the locals were having in their backyards (Pretty common where I come from, so it was not a problem for me). The […] beach property at the hotel is perfect for windsurfing, however, the waves crash pretty hard on this side of the island so it is not conducive for a calm swim in the water. The restaurant, reception staff, and security are extremely nice but the bartender is my FAVORITE! They called us cabs and recommended excellent places on the island to visit. Beware: The free wifi can only be used if your room is close to the main part of the hotel and they have suites located on both sides of the street, so there is a chance you will not have wireless access unless you are lucky enough to have a suite in the main building. Lastly, our suite was definitely spacious, clean, and room service replenished everything we needed daily. However, we were on the fourth and top floor of the hotel (No elevator), so after dragging our suitcases to the top floor we were also disappointed that in the suite only the bedroom had air conditioning. This is typical of hotels in the Caribbean, so I would stay at Silver Point again depending on if I plan to party or if I plan to relax. This hotel is only for relaxing! Read more

We stayed in a one bedroom beach front suite... which were awesome!! I highly reccommend going beach front. However, We didn't spend much time in our room and probably could have saved some $ by going with the beach front studio. The beach is small, relatively clean, and simple, with lots of kite surfers which are always fun to watch. Water is a bit strong & rough, so I wouldn't reccommend swimming unless you're a very strong swimmer. If you want to take Kite Surfing lessons you will need at least 2 days with 3-4 horus of lessons.
