Small and unique
Nice room. Close to the subway station. Casa Loma was close but decent travel needed for other attractions. Check in was a couple buildings away, but staff were available to help. Located by university Greek life but we didn't have any issues with that. We would stay again.

Ended my trip in disappointment.
I wanted to like this hotel, but the way we got treated was incredibly disappointing. My boyfriend and I were under the impression that our entire stay was under control in the hotel's system, but in our third night we find out they had us booked for one night out of 4 nights as we booked through hotels.com. On our third night we arrived to the hotel and tried to use our key cards and none worked. We had to track down an evening manager and even he did not know what was going on and told us we should be good to go, and as we waited in their office I turned around and saw all of our belongings all bagged up in a corner like if we were thrown out.I've never felt so insulted! I freaked out and he did his best to accommodate us to a new room because he could not find a key that would open our room door.My passport and other important things were still locked up in the room safe which I couldn't get ahold to until the next day.To top it off, we got moved to a room that the thermostat was at 90 degrees and it was the coolest room available at the time! It felt like an oven! We had to open the windows and the manager brought in a fan and all of that did nothing.Even our original room did feel warm, but it was tolerable. This room was tiny compared to our original room. We slept in separate beds!It was supposed to be a romantic getaway! The hotel did charge us half the price for the entire stay, but at that point, it was just unbearable.

Historic and funky.
Famous old hotel. Small room and smaller bathroom. Stairs, no elevator. Historic Pub was fun. College crowd, on a street with Frat and Sorority houses.

Pub: Upon check-in, they give you a $12 certificate to use at the pub next door. Good bonus. Amenities: they only give you shampoo, bar soap, and lotion. If you don't want your hair feeling like broom bristles, better bring your own amenities Noise: The hotel is located on the same street with fraternity and sorority houses of UToronto. Drunk college students are a little noisy at night.

OK only Stay this time. Last time was better.
Overall it was a nice stay. However, the room was advertised as having a King Sized bed. It was not a King sized bed. It was two twin beds attached in the middle that gave way when you rolled over it. Also, the remote for the tv did not work and the front desk had no sufficient replacement batteries for it.
