"Comfort and a warm fireplace"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had been having a lot of rain and really just wanted to go home! But upon checking into The Hotel, we were so comforted by the staff, especially Tasha and her tour of the lovely amenities. She served us drinks and made us comfortable in front of the warm fireplace and we said "Ahhh". The room was large with a lovely view, the bed very comfortable and the dinner superb. The staff did everything they could to make our stay wonderful, thanks, we'll be back!
"Nice Place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was free in the lobby. It was a short walk from where the airport bus dropped us off and shopping/restaurants. Most of the tourist spots are a bit farther, but still very walkable.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Ardmore is a clean, modern hotel that has power showers and staff that are friendly. The food served is well prepared and affordable. For the money it can't be beat, but if you want nice pillows, soft towels& cozy bedding then you should spend the extra money to get them. Those of us who prefer value over the little "extras" would love this hotel. The 15 minute bus ride into downtown wasn't bad unless you JUST missed the bus and have to wait another twenty minutes to get on. It is a great location for a first night into Dublin or your last because it is only 15 minutes to the airport!
"Wonderful hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The westbury is a great hotel, very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Dublin soon!

"close to sights/shopping"
We loved it - great location, staff and breakfast. Lovely, large second floor room.
"Great Stay in Dublin"
Perfect location with walking distance to all must-see sights. Freshly prepared to your specifications hot Irish breakfast. We had a room facing the gated garden in the back of the hotel and slept with the windows ajar enjoying the fresh air and the peace and quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Dublin.
"Great for a quick visit to Dublin"
Stauntons on the Green was a great find for us. We visit Dublin at least once a year and have finally found a hotel that is walking distance to everything and reasonable for the location. The hotel is not too modern but great staff, free wifi and great location. We would stay and recommend this hotel again and again.
"Great Place to stay"
Absolutely beautiful room, So clean , nice people, loved it & would go back again ...Only thing is i wish there were more tv channels or movie channels.. Other than that AWESOME place , close to everything... Can't wait to visit again , also great service to & the beds were so comfortable.. even the pillows :)
"Convenient location but could use a big face lift"
Staunton's on the Green is in fantastic location -- on the quieter side of St. Stephen's. The hotel itself has the bones of a very charming place, but it is hard to ignore the dirty carpets and dusty corners. All of the rooms are walk ups so if you have a lot of luggage, I would recommend finding a place with an elevator. Our room was clean and simple. […] However, it smelled strongly of chemicals used to clean the bathroom. We left the window open at all times, which was fine given the weather was warm in August, however, there is a fair amount of street noise if you are a light sleeper. My only real complaint is the bathroom shower was not super clean and the rubber mat they provided was covered in black mold underneath. Not a huge deal since you can just toss it aside, but it would have been nicer to not have been "icked out" by the mat. Overall, it is a good budget stay. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You can park your car for 10 euros a night or you can feed the meter on the street for the most part. Read more
"I would recommend"
Staff was very helpful with all the information we needed to enjoy our visit. OK this is not a 5 Star hotel, but this place has all the character and flavor of Ireland you should be looking for. Breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable, even though we were not in the new extension. You can easily walk to most of the big sites except a few. […] The hop on hop off bus worked well and got you around quickly. Its only a 90 minute loop. We took the hotel advise and did one full loop and then decided what we wanted to spend our time at visiting and taking tours. The Park across the street is fantastic. I can't believe anyone would not be pleased with their stay here. I have visited 17 countries and I recommend this hotel completely. Read more
"Wonderful location"
This hotel has a wonderful location; very close to the Book of Kells and the National Museum. We also had a wonderful room with a beautiful view of the back garden and Iveagh Park. Our only complaint was that the bed was very hard.
"Very hospitable Guest House"
this is definitely a hotel for those who appreciate historical accommodations. The property is over 2 hundred years old and has charming marble fireplaces and creaky floors. There is no elevator. The included breakfast was very good. The bathroom was modern and new.. The location is across the street from the beautiful park and is walking distance to […] great shopping and dining. Read more

"Great Place to Stay"
The place was very clean and well kept. The staff were friendly, courteous, and eager to help out with any questions or problems I had. They offer a wide variety of choices for breakfast. You can choose a traditional Irish Breakfast with white or black pudding, a vegetarian breakfast, or a breakfast consisting of cereal, fruit, toast etc... It's quite […] possibly the best location in Dublin with a beautiful park across the street and walking distance to the shopping center. They also offer a spectacular laundry service and they were always able to get my laundry back to me the same day. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in Dublin. "Stauntons on the Green Dublin"
Even before arriving at the beautiful Irish doorway of Staunton's I was impressed with the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the large park, directly across the street from the guest house. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and assisted with my luggage to my fabulous and tranquil room. The bath was newly redone in a lovely light colored tile. The […] room was clean and kept clean by the helpful and courteous staff. I enjoyed a delicious Irish breakfast both mornings I was there. It was graciously served with friendly and attentive staff. The buses were close by but it was an easy walk to Grafton Street area. I also took advantage of the Wicklow tour and the pickup and drop off was directly opposite the Staunton's. Although , the weather isn't something one can count on it too proved to be warm and sunny for my time in Dublin. A 5 star review, is in order, for my time at Staunton's on the Green. I would defiantly make plans to stay there during my next trip to the area. Read more
"Lovely Hotel"
This hotel borders on a beautiful park, is very close to the center of the city (easily walkable), is close to a stop for the hop on and off bus, has caring employees, a great breakfast, very comfortable beds, and is quiet in terms of getting rest. What more could you ask for??? I would definitely go back to this hotel if visiting Dublin again.
"Nice location/view but several cons"
Pros: - Good location. - Nice view overlooking St. Stephen's Green. Cons: - The hotel has no lift. I had to haul my luggage up three large flights of stairs. The front desk didn't offer any help. - Had to call the front desk right away because none of the outlets worked. They said the breaker must have flipped. Was fixed quickly. - Walls are paper […] thin. I heard the conversations in the room next to me like I was sitting right there. Read more

"Great location"
Great location on the quiet side of St. Stephen's Green. Many sites are within easy walking distance. Hotel is getting a little long in the tooth, we had water stains on the ceiling of our room and the bathroom smelled a bit musty/moldy, but other than that its a great place to stay. The staff seem to take a genuine concern about your satisfaction.
"Charming hotel in a great location"
This is a friendly, comfortable hotel with a great breakfast and very good location on the southern side of St. Stephen's Green. Easy walking to many sights, restaurants, and pubs, especially Trinity College and the SE side of Dublin. But Grafton St. and Temple Bar are very close as well. We had a lovely visit and recommend this highly for couples. […] The hotel is very convenient for Air Coach (less htan one block) but a bit harder for Air Link (20 min. walk) so you might want to choose the first service. Read more
"very deceiving hotel website"
very deceiving website - hotel looks nothing like the images on the website. Service was dreadful- was told on arrival to leave my car on the double yellow lines on the bus lane outside the hotel to wait for someone to come to park it!
"AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!"
nothing worked from the time we arrived, the room was not ready, and it appeared as if it was not prepared when we finally got the key. there was no basin in the toilet, the 70's tyles had black moss growing in the grout, the shower head was just a hose. moving to the room, it was old, smelly, tasteless...except for the smell which was curried pork […] . spotless. good location. helpful staff. if i am to be hyper critical, there was no lift....
"stauntons on the green, dublin"
excellent location, just across st stephen's green from grafton street. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very comfortable bed. To be recommended.
"Awesome"
Such a good find in a great location. Love the staff and this is a great price for where it's located. Thank you!
"Clean, comfortable and close to the park"
I spend two nights at Stauntons and I had a good experience overall. The person at the desk during check-in was not nice at all. But the room (including toilet) was very clean, and the breakfast was decent. The sheets were not 1000 thread count, but the in general the bedding was ok. There was enough lighting and plugs for charging my phone, laptop […] and ipod. I could sometimes hear the door in the corridor open/close, but it didn't wake me up at all. My room was facing the back, so it wasn't noisy, not even on Saturday night. I liked the location, and being able to walk through the park first thing in the morning was refreshing. I was there by myself and I did not get judgemental looks from the staff, which is always good. Read more
"Great staff - convenient location"
Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Older part of the hotel was lovely but could do with a bit of work to fix broken curtain rails etc.
"Staunton's on the green- Good value for money"
This hotel / guesthouse is in a very handy location for the city centre, for tourists and business travellers alike. Breakfast was reasonably good ( choice of cereal/ continetal / full Irish/ all of the above). Parking is off-site and a member of staff takes your car away to the car park , and needs 30 minutes notice approx to bring the car round to […] the front , so this may not appeal to some visitors. However, my car was intact on being returned to me, and the staff were friendly and very helpful , so I would definitely stay there again , as many hotels of similar price do not include breakfast. had a lovely stay.Great breakfast. location excellent. very friendly and helpful staff.
"excellent"
One of the best I have stayed in, in Dublin. Very central, really nice staff.
"Stauntons on the Green, Dublin"
The hotel was clean and centrally located. Breakfast which I paid extra for however was a bit on the miserable side.

"Great location, friendly atmosphere"
Varying rooms, I wouldn't choose a single room as they are on the 3rd floor, they are small and there is no escalator. They would be handy for people not spending much time in the room. I had the opportunity to see 4 different rooms during my stays and one was really nice, one was decent and the other two were ok. They only provide one shower towel, […] although I'm sure they would have given me an extra towel if I had asked. The breakfast was lovely. Cute back garden and it leads onto the Iveagh gardens. It was nice and quiet and so handy in relation to location. Read more

"Great value"
Very friendly staff, some quirks about the room, no bedside lighting only wall lights, position of plugs etc. Still, great value and location.
"Good Location"
This guest house is located in close proximity to St Stephen's Green and Grafton Street. Have stayed here before but was disappointed with condition of bath in bathroom. So much so that we needed to change rooms. The lady on reception, who was most helpful, was very accomodating and immediately changed our room. New room was very comfortable and bathroom […] was fine. Breakfast good. Would, overall, recommend but just check your bath !!! Read more
"Stauntons on the Green Guest House"
Convenient location but hotel room very small and broken tiles in very small bathroom.
"Stauntons - Dublin"
Very quiet and comfortable, great considering the location is city centre and close to so many amenities. Our room was spacious and airy, with a wonderful tranquil view of Ivy Gardens. Would highly recommend it for anyone on a visit to Dublin city.
"The hotel had a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere"
We really enjoyed our nights stay here. Staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Excellant location.

Value for money in that location, good breakfast, nice staff.
"Stauntons On The Green Dublin"
Hotel was small but nice. Room very small but comforable. Staff just about ok. In a good location for city. Would still use again.
"Stauntons on the Green - excellent location"
Stayed here with my daughter for the weekend - excellent location for exploring Dublin, as it is only 5 minutes walk through St Stephens park to Grafton Street. A little noisy at night as the road is busy, but we did have the windows open as it was unseasonably warm! Would have asked for a room at the rear if we had realised, but this didn't spoil our […] stay. Breakfast was lovely and service was quick. Reception was always manned and very efficient and helpful - sorted out a little problem we had printing our boarding passes for return flight home. Would definitely stay again. Read more

"Stauntons On The Green"
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. The green opposite is beautiful and the hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major sites.
"Stauntons On The Green"
Will recommend based on the location as it is very close to Grafton Street and the surrounding area is safe and apart from sleeping we did not spend much time in the room. There is free wi-fi. However, most of the lights in the room did not work and the towels were dingy looking and the mat for the shower had mildew on it. The room only had one reading […] lamp to share between two beds and there were not enough outlets in the room. There is free breakfast which we did not wake up in time for. Definitely not a 4 star - I would give it 2.5 stars. Read more

"Super staff, clean hotel, needs some maintenance"
The Hotel has great access to central Dublin and is in an old converted house, opposite a beautiful park. The hotel itself was clean but some areas could do with some basic maintenance and upgrading. My room was clean and comfortable, but whilst the shower worked it needed repair. It also had wifi available in all the rooms - not all hotels in the area […] offer this. The staff however were very friendly and super helpful. I would stay here again as my experience was pleasant and I had a great nights sleep. Read more
