"Close to all we required"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 2, 2013
Excellent stay. I went on business and my wife and kids on vacation. The check-in counter/customer service/staff were exceptionally good. The only minor issue I had was that the shower head in the bathroom is too low - I am 6'2" .

"It's ok"
It's clean enough. Not the prettiest place but good for a bargain night to stay close to the convention centerGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff very accommodating. Close to Center City holiday sights. Room w/2 doubles small but comfortable once lack of heat rectified (compressor was not initially running). Breakfast better than anticipated. Very good weekend rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a good nights sleep"
I was kept up all night by the fan that you cannot turn off. It was blowing in my face the whole time. Also the walls are thin and you can hear every time someone closes their door. No windows to the outside. Parking deck was too hard for me to find. It is actually in chinatown but not labelled well for the hotel. So i just parked in an outdoor lot […] that was closer actually. "Better than expected"
We didn't expect much because of the price and other reviews but it was actually very nice surprise. It's nothing spectacular to be honest and the exterior of the building is not very appealing but hotel itself is actually quite clean and comfortable. Our room (and I think that's the case for most of the rooms) didn't have any windows so that was a […] little bit depressing but other than that, I really don't have any complaints! Staff was really helpful and nice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I don´t recomend it"
I did not like this place, vecinity is bad, housekeeping was poor they just changed towels and did not clean the room. Breakfast was ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charmless"
If you like a small, open plan hotel where drunken conversations in the lobby at 3am sound like they're right outside your door -- ditto the noisy tour group departing at 6am -- then this is the place for you. Women traveling alone will find that it's better to approach the hotel from the 13th street side so they don't have to run the gauntlet of men […] hanging around smoking outside the two missions next door on Race Avenue. The picturesque view of the alley behind is just a bonus. In its favour, I'd say the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Room Tip: I'd hope that a room back in a corner would be quieter, but doubt it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient & Courteous!"
The hotel staff was very courteous during my stay! At check-in they even gave us recommendations of where to eat/shop/etc since we were visiting from out of state, and looked up information for us to give us phone numbers. Our room was nice, clean & comfortable. Breakfast was awesome! Check-out was also courteous, & they store luggage free of charge […] if you want to come back for it later. Overall, satisfied! "Great location. Not so great place."
The location of this hotel was ideal; however, the hotel itself was quite disappointing! It was noisy inside and out. There were people arguing in the hallway. A dog could be heard barking although no pets were allowed. Also the only vending machine that contained soda and water became out of order. Ok price for no frills.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine for sleeping IF AC is working"
Room was small with no external windows. Clean and confortable for sleeping. Our AC wasn't working well so stay was stuffy but they did bring in a fan which helped.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location"
it was pretty clean, the pillows were soft. the staff was really nice, thank goodness there was someone at the desk overnight to let me in at 2 am after i forgot my key. the problem was the room was so small like a vox, and i had a lot of stuff with no where to put it. everything is miniature, the bathroom, sink and room itself. but it is typical of […] an inner city hotel and for it being travelodge it was cleaner and nicer than other travelodges i've been in. the best part was the location-in walking distance from everything you could possibly want to do in philly, plenty of food, and shopping nearby. and the neighborhood isnt that bad as long as you realize it is a big city. however it is downtown, not the hood like other travelers might think. i walked home from my friends dorm at jefferson college, and the walk was short, well lit and not scary at all. not one person bothered me, a shock for a female alone in the wee hours of the morning. A lot of noise outside the hotel and management was slightly unconcerned (unsympathetic) about it. Otherwise, hotel was clean, and location fine although right next to a homeless food distribution spot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I was traveling for business. It was clean quiet and free b-fast in the morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful in finding a place to eat. I would stay here again. Couldn't ask for more given the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to city-center"
Rates were reasonable, and the location was actually very good. By far the cheapest place to stay if you're looking to be just a short walk away from all the sights. The staff were all very kind and always willing to help. The hotel itself was a little dumpy though. Rooms were small; the bed was terrible; the shower had some weird water pressure issues. […] The worst part was the WiFi. It didn't work at all the first night we were there. At that point, I had wished we had spent a little more money to go somewhere a little nicer. "A few blocks from Chinatown"
The Travel Lodge was better than first appearance. It's across the street from the Philly Convention Center, and about 2 blocks from the Market, as well as a couple blocks from Chinatown. The rooms were small, but decent and clean. Our room contained a small fridge, and a safe. Continental breakfast consisted of cereal, english muffins, or near-frozen […] muffins. The front desk attendance was always populated, and they were always nice and helpful. BIG down-side: no on-site parking, even though Hotels.com will tell you there is.. "Acceptable for meetings at the convention center"
I stayed here for 3 nights during a meeting at the convention center. It is on the back side of the convention center, so I had to walk about 1.5 blocks to enter the center, but I could exit out a back door closer to the hotel. The walk was pleasant during the day time, but I felt uncomfortable walking alone to the hotel after dark. There is a convenience […] store immediately next to the hotel entrance that sold some snacks, but otherwise the nearest restaurants are 2 blocks away, on the other side of the convention center. The room itself was small and the only window was into the hallway, but it was pleasantly clean and generally acceptable. The wifi connection worked smoothly. The continental breakfast options included yogurt, toast, bagels, cold cereal, coffee, tea, and juice--nothing fancy, but OK. There are no "extras" at his hotel--no gym, restaurant, or business center. In summary, it met my needs for a place to stay during my conference, but I would not choose to stay there with my husband and daughter. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Place To Stay!"
Overall, this Travelodge was fantastic. I will definitely be staying here again. I was driving from a few hours away and when I arrived at 6am, they were more than willing to accommodate me. That's a full 10 hours before check-in! The neighborhood is kind of sketchy but that comes with the territory in any downtown of a big city. I was more than willing […] to trade a few weird stares from vagrants in exchange for a 10 minute walk to anywhere and anything. Music venues, restaurants, clubs, bars, touristy stuff, museums, etc. were all within a reasonable walking distance. Philly is a very pedestrian friendly city and at no point will you ever be the only person out on the streets. Parking leaves a little to be desired. There are several lots in the neighborhood but no parking on site and the towing in Philly is outrageous. It's an industry, so just cough up the extra bones to park legitimately. This is why I'm so happy I decided to stay in the city rather than somewhere in NJ and drive. Between the tolls and the parking and the wasted time, it would've been more expensive and more of a hassle. Definitely would stay again here. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, close proximity to everything. The Sheraton 3 blocks down is double the rate, and for what? stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Budget Hotel"
I was very pleased with the Teavellodge Philadelphia Convention Center. The staff was helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was not fancy, but was good and plentiful. However, I read the reviews on hotels.com and other sites before going and knew NOT to stay on the first floor, where the complaints were about thin walls and noise […] at the main desk. Hotels.com confirmed with the hotel staff before I booked that I required staying on another floor. The hotel agreed and I made sure the hotels.com supervisor note this on my copy of the reservation before I confirmed the three-night rental. He did. I called the Travellodge just to check that this note was there about a week before my visit and the Travelodge staff confirmed. When I arrived, I got a room on the 4th floor. My stay was very good. You just need a little pre-planning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel to be close to downtown Philly"
I stayed at this hotel which is in the business district. It was near one or two other hotels and walking distance from the metro, malls, convention center and etc. fairly surprised at the hotel service based on other recommendations. The hotel room was a decent size for two people and had a window facing the hallway. It felt fairly safe because outside […] doors locked at about 7 pm and very friendly and hopefully staff. I would stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was decent with coffee, tea, juice, toast, English muffins and muffins with a choice of cereal. Didn't have any noise problems. "Best hotel bacon ever"
My friend Eric says, "Most hotel bacon is pretty lame but this hotel bacon is the best I've ever had!" haha! The breakfast was really great and did not feel like a hotel breakfast or a buffet. The service was great and they really helped us out of towners around. My only complaint would be the cost. "nice but SMALL with NO WINDOW"
the staff is pretty nice and helpful, and the location is good ,near lots of attractions so they re all within walking distance. the room is clean but its just TOO SMALL,and remember you DONT HAVE A WINDOW!!! thats understandable since its in old city so youll decide urself if that works.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was VERY small, with no window to outdoors, just to a hallway. Parking was extra, in a garage almost 3 blocks away. The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful, but would have been nice to know, up front, about the size and parking issues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Between Chinatown and Academy of Music"
I chose this hotel because I was planning to come by bus, wanted to go to Chinatown and the Reading Terminal Market, and had tickets for a concert at the Academy of Music. This was an IDEAL, central location for all of the above. The room was in decent shape, and I found it to be quiet and comfortable. The staff were all very polite and helpful--really […] nothing to complain about at all. "For bargain hunters"
About 1/3 of the price of other lodging in the area. Next door to a homeless shelter would scare a few people away. Also, not located in the best part of town. "not a good family choice"
The AC in the room was broken, and they couldn't resolve it. They gave us a fan the 2nd night. Neighborhood is very sketchy, wouldn't stay again for that reason as well as the ACGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wouldn't stay again"
The hotel was located in what seemed a sketchy part of Philly behind the convention center. Our room was alright (enough to sleep in) but the shower didn't get very hot and our A/C didn't work the 2nd night of our stay. It never got colder than 80 degrees, which was rough on the 4th floor. Wouldn't recommend staying here. Would pay the extra $20-$40 […] per night to stay somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"OK place to stay for convention center conference"
If you are having an event at the convention center, this place is RIGHT across the street. It's a no-frills sort of place-- nondescript hallways, room, lobby. The elevator was broken the ENTIRE length of my three night stay but someone at the front desk helped me bring my stuff upstairs and downstairs each time. Plus the more exercise the better! The […] bed was comfortable and I had requested a room with a window and got one. It's a small room but its just myself so I had no issue. Other people had whined about the location next to a homeless shelter but it's not as if there are tons of homeless people lying about-- I only saw some folks a couple of times. Still, for a pleasure trip, I'd likely pick a place with a little more character (and a bit thicker walls). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
