Very noisy from traffic and at 3:00 at least ten people were outside the lobby on two nights talking loudly and smoking. Cigareete smoke was either from adjacent room or air intake was taking the smoke outside into our room. On Saturday night, I called down to the desk and complained and they made the people leave.

GOOD: My room was in good shape. The hotel was nicely maintained and clean. The bathroom was spacious and clean with nice new fixtures. The high speed internet was refreshingly high speed and they bake cookies in the evening so I could cure that sugary snack craving. For me the location was convenient but it may be too "residential" for some. There's […] a mall about a mile away for shopping and food. Ample parking. Friendly staff. JUST OK: There's a Denny's across the street but other than that, all of the walking distance restaurants are local establishments and you need to be willing to try something different. The continental breakfast was convenient. They have a nifty automatic pancake maker along with scrambled eggs (which were inexplicably bland) and sausage along with the usual bread, bagel, cereal and fruit. That's all fine for me, but others may complain about the food situation. BAD: Ironing! First, you can't adjust the heat setting on the iron so it'll burn right through anything delicate. Second, I hate the Pressto Valet. Hate, hate, hate this stupid thing. It is an irritating little device that bolts to the flat end of the ironing board to secure the iron, but makes ironing pants miserable. Why take something as miserable as ironing and add another layer of misery? In the future I'm checking with hotels to see if they have it before I stay. Yes... I hate it that much it's the only reason I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Read more

I stayed here for one night for business. It was clean with updated furnishings. I didn't have any noise issues. The breakfast was decent, even if the choices were somewhat limited. The surrounding area isn't the best but it was conveniently located near the 101. A solid, reliable place to stay in the area.

Stayed one night and never again. First, hotel is in bad neighborhood and located right next to busy freeway. Traffic is heavy in surrounding area as hotels off busy street. I was in a non-smoking room which had a series of smoking rooms just a few doors down. I ended up having to switch rooms because person(s) were smoking marijuana in their room. […] The source came from the room next to me which was supposed to be non-smoking. However, the front desk clerk could care less about the marijuana smoke or the fact that it was occurring in a non-smoking room causing me to become ill by the odor. The staff actually argued with me stating marijuana is legal in CA although it was not. When that argument failed, he suggested that the guest was using medical marijuana. Even if that we're true, it was still supposed to be a non-smoking section of the hotel and the whole hallway was overpowered by marijuana odor that suggested it was occurring in other rooms too. Still, the staff did nothing but argue. The room itself was basic. There was a gap in the door so outside odors easily seep into the room. The water pressure is awfully low. Food seemed ok but cook was wearing very wrinkled like maybe she slept in them and it was a somewhat dirty uniform that looked like pajamas. Good location for eating within walking , as driving is difficult due to extreme traffic on this street. Everything is within walking frome Drugs to a supermarket , great Asian food! Hotel has 3 HBO stations free and good quality TV flat screen 45inches. Price of hottel is ok for the area.

Loved it...convenient drive to conference downtown daily for 30% of the downtown rate. Confortable night's sleep each day. Relatively friendly front desk didn't turn flips because I was there, but nice enough. Never got the chance to eat breakfast since we had breakfast at the conference. GPS system led us astray so even though hotel is just off the freeway, we had to make two passes in order to get to it and it was during rush hour traffic. Although this hotel was clean and fairly well maintained, it wasn't in the best part of town. The surrounding area was very run-down and not the safest looking. It was close to the freeway, which made it convenient for our quick overnight stay and our evening at the HP Pavilion, but I wouldn't have stayed any longer than that.

They overbooked and didn't have the room we reserved. The place is a dump. I have sent an email to the Best Western Group to reconsider allowing their name on this hole in the wall. This Inn was conveniently located to very good eating establishments, shopping, and easy access to freeway. I would readily recommend it to all. When I return to San Jose again I would plan to stay. The people at the desk were very kind and accommodating. The cleaning staff also were very efficient and thorough.

The staff were friendly, the breakfast was great but the room maids were terrible. Floors were poorly vacuumed, the beds were sheets were never changed and we stayed 5 days. I marked an "X" with a pencil at the bottom of the sheets and the beds were made but the "X" remained all 5 days.

The rooms are clean, but that's about it. They do offer free breakfast in the morning, except the clerk totally forgot to mention that breakfast ends at 9:30. When my friends and I went down for breakfast at 10, the breakfast was already gone, and I asked the clerk, and she disrespectfully said that breakfast is for early morning therefore it ends at […] 9:30. For the price of the hotel I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and the condition. The carpeting in the hallways are somewhat dirty, and the counter top in the bathroom was kind of stained and worn, but otherwise I was very happy with my stay there. I would definitely stay again. Nice looking hotel, not bad at all. But there were no thick curtains to close, so that bothered me to have extra sleep in a morning. I have never experienced this at a hotel. Water pressure for a shower was bad. I needed to take a bath instead of taking a quick shower because of that. One more thing. Unfortunate locaton, old, and odorous. Upon arrival I was suspicious of comfort and asked to see my room before checking in. The 1st floor room window was literally 12 feet from a freeway onramp! The place smelled like cigarettes and cats! Had prepaid my reservation, and chose not stay there anyway. No refunds!

Rooms are smaller than expected but workable. Has all the necessary things you'd want in a room. As long as you don't plan to stay in your room all day it should bed fine. Nice amenity is the coffee in breakfast room that is available all day.
