Very good hotel with friendly staff. Nice relaxing walk from hotel to town over Milennium Bridge. Didn't try food, but bar is nicely laid out and relaxing.

I was initially very impressed with the place. It's new looking, well located for the Universities of Northumbria and Newcastle, rooms are ok sized for Europe and are well set out. The problem is WIFI. The free WIFI on the third floor worked intermittenylt on the first day of my stay and not on the other two days. My (very new) PC picked it up beautifully on the 2nd floor (hall) and in the lobby. All they could do was "reset it", by which I suppose they meant cycle the power. It was a great inconvenience.

Nice hotel and surroundings however we were disappointed with our evening meal and the bathroom really needed some repair. The food its self was nice but the portions were tiny. The bathroom floor tiles were broken and had a general damp smell in the room. Service in the hotel was a little slow.

Nice hotel but when in a double room we hoped for a double bed not 2 twins - we both fell down the crack many times. Don't call 2 twins a double

I booked this accommodation as my wife and I required a comfortable and convenient hotel from which to explore Durham and its surroundings. The rate was discounted and the location ideal. Good points: Spacious room with comfortable areas around the hotel to relax in, location close to Durham/Beamish, good value at the discounted price. Not so good points; […] The service throughout the hotel was erratic, i.e. after an evening meal in the restaurant my wife and I were disappointed that no member of staff was able to make a liqueur coffee, even after a clear description was proffered, small portions at breakfast alongside having to make your own toast and an unnecessary wait (an adjacent diner waited 20 minutes for her porridge), the shower in our room was poor with very little water pressure. Overall the stay was acceptable due to the discounted rate. Read more

Fantastic Hotel and well run by staff. The Hotel is set in magnificent Country Park surroundings, has a choice of Restaurants for Evening meal and some very nice lounge areas. Great would definitely recommend.

In diesem Hotel kann man englisches Lebensgrfühl nachvollziehen. Es war unser zweiter Aufenthalt. Leider hatten wir jetzt den Eindruck, dass Sauberkeit und die Qualität des vorher ausgezeichneten Essens etwas nachgelassen haben.
