BW HOTEL MELBA - Bastogne

We stayed one night at the Hotel Melba after a suggestion from our tour guide, Henri Mignon. They are doing construction but that didn't bother us, except that the entrance is a little bit difficult to use. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and the breakfast was amazing! We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting the WW2 battlefield sites and they were very helpful in providing us with information as to where to visit. The hotel is right across the street from the 101st Airborne Museum so that was within walking distance and it was also within walking distance to the town square where all the shops and restaurants […] are located. They spoke English and the rooms were clean. The front entrance of the hotel is undergoing renovations so its a bit messy when you first walk in but its to be expected when anyone is undergoing a makeover. Hotel is close to center of town and convenient. Parking on site a plus if you are driving.

This hotel was very convenient not only for walking about the town of Bastogne, but also for making day trips throughout the Ardennes and Luxembourg. The breakfast each morning was well laid out and the food on offer was delicious. Very good service as this is a family run hotel and it shows. There is a pathway behind the hotel called the Ravel that […] runs along the old railway tracks and can take you on several nice walks, but the one I walked took me directly to the Mardasson War Memorial which in itself was a memorable experience. Very good location, clean and comfortable, everything you need really. Its a bit noisy from other rooms in the morning when using using the showers otherwise a nice stay.

Efter en lang kø tur gennem Tyskland, vil enhver seng være et kærkommen syn. På Melba hotel var det nøjagtig det vi forventede til prisen, en seng i et værelse stor nok til en familie på fem. Opdelt i 2 rum, så både mor og far, samt børn kunne få lidt privat liv og et tv at falde i søvn til, hvilket er nemt når alle kanaller er på Belgisk/Fransk. Standarden […] på værelserne var lidt over middel, jeg ærgede mig dog over at den sovesofa min yngste søn skulle sove på, bar tydeligt præg af manglende rengøring. Personalet var venlige og hjælpsomme. Byen spændende og bar tydeligt præg af, at turister kommer og går og blot vil have en kullinaisk oplevelse og en overnatning. Jeg vil ikke afvise, at benytte byen og hotellet ved en anden anledning, men vælger nok at prøve noget andet. Der er bestemt plads til at gøre det bedre, hvis man vil have en større oplevelse ud af det, end blot mad og en seng. Egen P-plads lige ved døren, et stort plus. Read more
