Everything was good except for the kids on the top floor that kept stomping around at all hours of the night. Room was comfortable and registration clerk was very courteous.

It was late when we checked in after a long drive, and the staff were bright and cheerful and we were even upgraded! Probably would not have picked this hotel if I had not read the consistently high reviews in Hotel.com's ratings. So, I gave it a try, and was pleasantly surprised that virtually all the reviewers were right--this Best Western was exceptionally clean; rooms were spacious and clean; amenities were fine; breakfast was very good (over at 9am, though); […] and it was very convenient to most parts of Houston. The parking lot was small, but gated. The neighborhood was not walkable and not attractive, but I felt safe, and there were a number of decent budget restaurants close enough and I thoroughly enjoyed the couple of Tex-Mex places where I ate. So, I give very high ratings for cleanliness, service, and budget comfort. Bottom line: Worth staying, and I would go back again anytime. Read more

The hotel was good but there were things that needs to be improved.The elevator was broken they were slow to repair it and no notice was given! The room service was poor they took their sweet time in cleaning the room. The free breakfest was to early and over to fast.They didn't keep enough food for the people that arrived towards the end.

I booked throughj a third party and got a little better price making it worth the money. Very grateful for the free breakfast -- however it was the same menu every day (3 days in a row). The only downfall is you can hear people walking in the room above.

I was in Houston on biz and stayed at the BW for 2 nights. As my ratings indicate, I was very pleased with the service and the accomodations. It was ideally located for where I was working. I'd certainly stay there again without hesitation.

Hotel was easy to find. However being familar with texas interstate roads helped alot. Someone who has never driven in texas may have some trouble. Room was very clean and much nicer then expected.only complaint was the bed pillows were very small.

When I booked the room, I didnt know anything about the part of town that this hotel is located in. Upon driving into the area, I quickly found out. For example, the gas station just down from the hotel has bars on its windows! Next thing that bothered me was that there is a pedestrian bridge literally in front of this hotel (conveniently not show in […] picture) which immediately made me think of vagrants and crime). Incidentally, the hotel has gated parking (I guess they know the crime rate). The hotel is stuffy and humid like the A/C was only working in the rooms and not in the rest of the hotel. It caused the hotel to have a smell like mildew. The bathroom door in our room had a crack at the bottom and the light fixture above the sink was not settled into place, but was popped up (which was simply plastic screening hung in a makeshift fixture to hide tube lights hung on the wall) - not attractive decor at all. Last, the pool was GREEN!! The only good thing I can say was that the beds were clean and we had ample pillows. Overall, due to location and surrounding neighborhood, we will not stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone. Read more

the fruit at the breakfast was OLD and not edible. not to mention the last morning we were there i saw little ant or nat like bugs in the bread and pastry container. there was also a few things that happened that i do not care to elabarate on. i do not recommend staying at this hotel in this location.

Everything was excellent. We drive in the night before our son has an appointment at the Medical Center. We get there within 30 minutes fron this hotel. I do not understand why guests cannot go into lobby after 11PM, though. It is literally locked. It might have something to do with the neighbor which appears a bit dodgy. The hotel was what we expected except the neighborhood did not offer any restaurants, and, while not in the worst part of town, it was definitely not the best part of town. We did, however, feel very safe. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, the rooms very roomy and the towels nice and fluffy. We were there for only one night on our way to an audition […] at Rice University. The hotel provided just the respite we needed for one night and between long flights. What was especially helpful was the staff. We had problems with a rental car at the airport as a result of the Super Bowl. We simply called the hotel, and although they did not have a shuttle, they gave us the name of a taxi driver who services the hotel. He came and got us and was at our personal service for the two days taking us to Rice University, coming back to pick us up and getting us to the airport, always with plenty of time to spare. The staff went out of its way to make the arrangements for us, so we didn't have to do anything but rest and prepare for the very stressful audition. It was a great experience to just be able to sit back and be taken care of. Hot breakfast was ready the next morning, and it was plentiful and very good. The entire two day trip was much more enjoyable because of this hotel. Thank you so much. Read more

We were allowed to check in early which was very helpful. The staff at the desk was very friendly and professional. The only issue we encountered was that the key cards were tempermental and didn't always open the doors.

Not the same standard as Best Western UK, this a low rate hotel, decor is very dated. Popular with blue collar workers from the Port & Truckers, but that is not a bad thing. They where not as noisy as UK workers and I've seen "professionals" less well behaved. Maybe this due to the hotel mot having a bar. I did see some families (no young children# […] when I was there who all seemed to enjoying themselves. As this is a "proper" Hotel, with rooms off internal corridors, not a Motel, it did feel secure and was very quiet during my 6 night stay, which included a weekend. #Only heard the TV in the next room through the connecting door once). Breakfast buffet hot food was very disappointing, but plenty cereal, toast and pastries. The Hotel is close to Port of Houston, not really convieient for most of the Tourist locations or downtown Houston, but good if you are working in the Port area like I was. I didn't rate the Seafood restaurant next door, and the immediate area did not feel secure to walk-in, about a mile further east is an excellent Slatbeef Steakhouse and a restraunt called Chilis, which is also good and a bit cheaper. There is also a cinema at this location. Overall the low rate reflects the quality of the place. It was OK, not the worst I've stayed in and will only be memorable because it was my first visit to the USA. Read more
