This was the worst hotel experience for me & my family. I have travelled around most countries of the world over the last 30 yrs. We had 2 triple rms & 1 superior rm, & I will summarize the main issues: 1. The staff are unprofessional & exteremly rude, their last proirity are hotel guests; 2. Rm's bathroom had strong sewage smell without door lock; 3. […] Two of our rms had strong sewage smell, we had to spray perfumes frequently; 4. All the rms air-cond was horrible, we were sweating in the rms. I checked it myself when they did not respond to fix it, the airfilter was so dirty it is blocking the airflow & the air blower was weak; 5. I asked the reception for only 1 rm late checkout until 2p from the 3 rms & they accepted. But @ 1.30p the hotel housekeeping chief came to our room shouting that we delayed her & if we don't leave the rm immediately she will call the police to kick out of the hotel. 6. Horrible privacy and comfort: the sound travels as if there are no walls. I hear the phone ring when I call the other rm which three rms away from my rm. It is normal in this hotel to be waked up by the noises from the other rms or the street. 7. I had a 9 seat van which is 2m high. I asked the reception for guidance to a parking place close to the hotel. They said we don't know. Then, I called another hotel close by, and I found out that there is a garage called Plaza Parking 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel! All of the above overides the good location of the hotel. What an awesome location and staff. Walid at the front desk was the first person we met and he was extremely and exceptionally awesome throughout the visit as was all staff throughout our whole 10 day stay. Loved the location of the Hotel convenient to transportation and the beach. Near pedestrian friendly walks. Lovely patissiere accross the street for morning coffee and croissant. McD's nearby for free internet . The front desk staff was lovely. Room was not large but mini fridge and clean bath were great. I would definitely stay again.

This time however, the girl at the front desk was extremely rude and when we arrived with our daughter and her husband, we complained about the room and she said that was all they had. We found the hotel looking quite worn, especially the room we had. The carpet was stained and dirty and the room was very small and our kids had an even worse room. We were actaully embarrassed that we were staying there with them. We returned a few weeks later on our way back to the states with another daughter and we had a room for three, that did not have another bed in it and unfortunately the same rude girl was there and she said that she would be up with a roll away bed later....I think after staying there for five years....we will look for something different next year. They do have a good location and breakfast is not bad...just needs some updating, new bedding and people that understand the meaning of hospitality and service. This gal didn't have a clue. Hotel de Flore is nicely located one-half block from rue Massena, which is loaded w/ mostly "touristy" restaurants but also offers a couple of excellent choices; many other restaurants nearby on connecting streets. It's a slow, 10-minute stroll from the Mediterranean and "promenade des Anglais," and a 15-20 minute walk from Old Nice by way of Place […] Messena at the east end of rue Massena. Hotel is a 15-20 minute walk (seriously) from the Gare SNCF train station, and a 10-15 minute walk (really, 15 minutes max) from the main bus station (across from Old Nice). (Tip: don't use the toilets at the bus station.) You can take public buses up & down the Riviera for a nominal charge each way regardless of distance if you're not in a hurry (e.g., bus #100 to Monte Carlo takes about 45-minutes along the coast road, or bus #200 to Antibes, the opposite direction, takes 45-60 minutes. Trains are quicker, but cost more & you miss all the locals). Our room was clean, comfortable & adequate by European standards, but not plush, and suited our purposes very well for a 4-night stay to experience the city & surrounding area at a reasonable price. Breakfast, standard European fare w/ occasional extras such as hard-boiled eggs, is served in a pleasant breakfast room w/ access to outdoor tables if desired, and was a bit pricey but you can have a much coffee as you want! All in all, we enjoyed this hotel for its location & services, and staff were friendly & helpful. We recommend it. Read more

The hotel is perfectly situated - 2 mins walk from the seafront, 5 mins walk from the Old Town, airport bus stops at the end of the street. Sound-proofing in the hotel rooms could be better but wasn't a real problem as people seemed to be asleep by midnight.

Location is superb: a bit noisy, but expected. My disappointment started the 1st moment I set my foot in room: it stank of mould, the carpet looked really tired. I asked the lady at reception to change rooms, and although she was very kind, she said there's nothing she could do as hotel was full. We turned the air conditioning (AC) in the room on and […] went for a walk. Came back later and it felt like the AC was not on at all. I waited few hours more, tried to play with controls, but no success. The gentleman at reception very kindly offered to check and said: "i's ok, air coming out of vent is fresh". I tried to explain that the temperature was set for 10 degrees celsius (!!!) and it was still incredibly warm, to the point we couldn't sleep with any covers on, but he still didn't see my point. I think they struggle with the concept of air conditioning. Ventilation and AC are not the same thing. Guests should be able to control temperatures in their rooms. We barely slept because of the heat. To make things worse, I woke up at 7am with a non stop noise of rattling dishes. It turns out our room was literally 10 to 15 meters away from breakfast room. I have stayed in many hotels in different countries and never experienced a layout like this. That room should have never been utilised. They changed our room eventually, which was a bit quieter and with AC slightly better, but for a short weekend break, half of our time had already been wasted on an uncomfortable room. Read more

All in all a nice little hotel. 24 hr reception is nice, rooms are bigger than most standard European rooms, showers are good and the rooms are very clean. Breakfast is expensive (13 euro per person) so we skipped that, hit the Cours Saleya and picked up fresh fruit and croissants, etc, and then ate them on the Promenade des Anglais watching the Mediterranean--would […] suggest this to anybody to stays here as an alternative. Not on super touristy street so much quieter than a hotel in Place Massena for instance. Our room opened onto a courtyard so was very very quiet in fact. Is a 2 minute walk to the Promenade and maybe 10 minutes to the Cours Saleya. Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour stop is closeby on the Promenade. THE ONLY complaint I had was that the air conditioning was definitely not up to snuff--the room was pretty warm. Not bad for when we were there (early May) but could be a factor come summer. Room was not really a triple, the cot was uncomfortable. Our room was overlooking the street so we had to listen to the delivery guys bang around at 5 each morning. Also, traffic was quite loud. Breakfast was good. Location was fine. Would use this hotel again, but would require a non-street room.
