After a week of traveling in different hotels through Italy and the UK this was the nicest hotel I stayed in. The room and grounds were oasis. I completely recommend this hotel. I wish I had time t o play golf.

Our stay was over shadowed by not enough staff serving at the bars or restaurant every evening we were there. The hotel was obviously very full and must have know that. The food was mediocre and the young staff had not been trained properly. On the Saturday evening we had a number of guests join us for dinner and on the table next to us was a hen party […] where the "bride" had blown up condoms on her head. Not exactly the impression that we wanted to convey. On both the Friday and Saturday nights the restaurant was extremely noisy there were very large party's of people drinking too much and just not knowing how to behave in restaurant. The bar was very busy during the early evening and with only two members of staff on it meant that we would wait at least 20 mins to be served. The restaurant and bar really let the hotel down. Not as good as other Q hotels i have stayed in, needs so refurb,room service and food was poor. Room had not been hovered and smelt musty, but bed and bath were clean. Food very poor and no sauces etc with roomservice.and not as detailed on menu, it was like service station food. Pool very cold. We disappointed, would not stay again

It's a bit isolated in that there is nowhere near to walk to for a meal or a drink, but is the best place to stay for some distance in this area. Good quality hotel, with good staff.

the disappointment was the bedding. I thought that duvets were standard in any hotel 2* and above. What we got was more like velour curtain fabric! The hotel was very busy so I thought that they may have run out of proper bedding. However when I mentioned it in the morning , I was informed that duvets were not standard in that class of room. We had what I think was an upgraded room - number 60 - and the coffee and biscuits were excellent. We have stayed in a normal double room before and the beds at this hotel are very comfortable. The Spa is good and we made use of the pool, jacuzzi, hot tub and steam room. All were fully working and a pleasure to use. If you only stay for a short period […] it is difficult to book a Spa treatment as they are usually fully booked. it would be good to be able to buy a foot massage (rather than a pedicure only - or a combination of the two). A nice hotel in the middle of nowhere! You really have to eat in the hotel as there isn't any decent places locally. If you want to play golf this is for you. We used this as a stop off point to see Lincoln which was good. For the price we paid I couldn't complain.

Lovely hotel, welcoming and friendly. Rooms and public rooms well maintained. Only grumble was the car park - not large enough with golfers and wedding parties, and several selfish drivers parking over two spots. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was well presented with plenty of staff on hand to clear crockery. Great place to stay.

On the whole very good. Compared to the gym/spa that I use locally the facilities at the Forest Pines were not particularly impressive. The food was very good.

Whilst the hotel was modern, clean, and staff friendly, there was something that seemed lacking with the minimalist styling of the bathroom. Personally, for the price, I have stayed in much much nicer and more comfortable hotels for much much less money.

Hoel and staff excellant but as usual with this type of hotel the bar prices are a bit on the high side. Golf courses excellant but they could do with more next tee directions between greens/tees especially as many of the golfers are hotel guests and first timers to the course.

We had a fantastic stay and loved every minute of it. Shame we couldn't stay longer! We were away for one night celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday and had the luxury of a free upgrade to a suite and being welcomed with a bottle of wine and birthday card in the room! Thank you! Forest Pines, former Briggate Lodge, is the best hotel for miles around. If you're staying in Scunthorpe...this is the nicest and nearest hotel, trust me. From the minute we arrived the staff were brilliant. There were a few minor hitches with our booking but the staff were helpful and informative. Food in the grill restaurant was very good, wide range of choices, salads, soups, cold foods/salads, hot food and plenty of desserts. Beds were comfortable too. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in this hotel for one night, the rooms was lovely, very comfortable, well decorated and clean. Our visit to the spa again was lovely. Its a bit pricy but worth it for a treat. The bar overlooks the golf course which was very relaxing - the only disappointing thing about the hotel was the unexpected poor service in the bar.
