We were traveling on a motorcycle so needed a room with parking right in front of the room, this hotel filled that need. We stayed there both on our way to Arizona and again on the return trip home. When we first arrived the gentlemen at the front desk was wonderful and friendly, the room was clean and a restaurant was within walking distance. The pool […] and spa were also well maintained. On our return trip the dark haired, heavy set girl at the front desk was very rude to the customer before us and just as nasty to us. She was also snapping with the other girl helping behind the counter with her. If she had been the one helping us on our first stay we would never have returned. I was not expecting much, only stayed here because all hotels in Barstow were booked. But what a great surprise! Older design, outside doors, but well done and really clean and nice. Friendly family-run motel. Even has a nice pool and hot tub! And not too mluch $$$. Definitely would stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times, and have usually been satisfied. Unfortunately my last two stays were not as pleasant. Although the staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was not attractive. The door did not close properly, there was soap in the shampoo dispenser, and the carpet was dingy and worn. I will not be staying there again.

It certainly didn't look impressive from the outside, but everything was clean, relatively updated and just what I needed. Although the lobby smelled slightly stale or of cigarettes (I immediately feared the worst), my room was just fine and was free of any smells. The room was comfortable for a one night stay. Hotel is old but kept clean. The staff was not very helpful. The internet did not work and the staff had no clue as to the problem. An FYI if in Needles, drive the 7 miles over the state line to Arizona, gas is over $1 a gallon cheaper.

We found this motel to be among our top rated motels in our 20 years of traveling. Barb in the office was friendly and helpful. Also she called us to tell us we had left a pair of woman's shoes in the room we occupied, and she would hold them until our relative, in town, could pick them up. talk about bang for you buck. I recently stood at the Howard Johnsons 2 months ago for about twice the rate. Honestly, there is no difference!!! The RDS Inn is incredible. VERY Clean rooms!!! This hotel was exactly as I had hoped for - clean with large rooms and nice touches. I think the only area for improvement is the pillows (they felt like chunks of foam - very lumpy). They looked brand new, so more an issue of type and quality of pillow.
