We were very pleased with our stay here. We only had a couple of nights in Salzburg, and it was unseasonably cold over Easter, yet we found the Hotel Elefant to be a great choice for our visit. Though our stay was short, there were hugs before we left with both Stefani and Ikram at the front desk. They were very friendly and helpful during our visit. […] It's a boutique hotel that is centrally located steps from everything including shopping, dining, sightseeing, etc. we literally walked everywhere, except to/from the train station. We took a bus from the train station which was a very easy ride, but due to a leg injury took a taxi back. Even though the hotel is In the pedestrian zone, the taxi was able to pull in and pick us up at the front door. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, and we found our room to be a comfortable size and clean/modern. The free wi-fi was an added plus. Read more

In a great location right in the old city, convenient to all the sights and right near lots of shopping. Everyone at reception was super helpful and friendly. When we first checked in, we were given a cramped double room with only a shower, when our reservation specified "bathtub." Although we did have to take that room for our first night, the desk manager moved us to a much more spacious and attractive room with a full bath, the next day. This was an inconvenience, and cost us some precious time, but the […] second room was truly delightful and a generous upgrade. The best thing about this hotel is the location...you can walk just about anywhere in the old town area, as well as across the bridges to a more modern part of Salzburg. We ate in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel on two nights, and the food was excellent. It is not actually owned by the hotel, but has the same elephant theme, and can be accessed from within the hotel. Word of caution...because of the central location on the busy shopping district of old Salzburg, the noise can be a problem if your room faces the street and you need to open the windows. But, if you plan to experience old Salzburg to the fullest, and especially if you love to shop, this hotel has the perfect location and is very clean and comfortable. This hotel is located in the heart of the pedestrian zone, but yet taxis can easily come right to the hotel. The best of Salzburg is just outside the door. The hotel room was very comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the included breakfast was delicious!

I chose the standard room. It was a spacious room with a functional small bath room. The mattress was good, the pillow was great. (other hotels in Austria had a very thin pillow) They supplied slippers and extra pillows which I didn't expect. The location was wonderful. Great value for money.

Very easy to get get around Salzburg from this hotel. Only trouble was figuring out how to get to it, call them when you get into town and don't be afraid to drive where you might think you are not suppose to. You do have to park a ways away after you drop your bags, but you really do not need your car. Was very nice

The location can't be beat. Our room faced the fortress and was very quiet. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the feather comforter because I am allergic to feathers. Take a cab from the train station, but you can walk everywhere from the hotel. The city is small and everything you want to see is within easy walking distance. Free WiFi too. Breakfast is lovely and complete with anything you can want. The restaurant is respectable as well--with nice tables outside as well. I would stay here again.

Parking isn't so convenient, but you can get a code from reception to allow you to pull up right in front of the hotel for loading/unloading, but you have to move it when you are done. You could not ask for a beter location in Slazburg. Walk to all of the local attractions. The hote was very nice and the staff very accomodating. Even had wash cloths in the bathroom, a rarity in Austria or Germany.

Iris on the front desk was so friendly and accommodating and spoke perfect english. The other fellows were also very nice. This place is a half block off the main pedestrian street but is very quiet. We booked a king room to ensure we had lots of room and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was great and had everything you could want (eggs, bacon, […] yoghurt, juice, croissants, breads, jams, cereal selections, and others), was a lovely large room with very friendly staff. We were there for 4 days and found all the places to see very walkable. A very nice compact little city with lots of little things going on which can be experienced simply by walking around. Don't forget to see some of the city area accross the bridge on your way to the Mozart-Wohnhaus and Mirabell Gardens. Just walking around investigating and finding places was a pleasure including along the river bank. Some good places we ate or snacked at were: Konditorie Furst for coffe & pastry (also home of first Mozart Ball), Stern Biergarten, Cafe Getreidegasse, Nordsee which had surprisingly good seafood for a type of self-serve place. The hotel restaurant itself was also quite good. We really liked the beers in Austria which says a lot when my wife also enjoyed them. Read more
