Nice hotel, about 10-15 walk from old downtown. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice clean room, good breakfast included in price. The room did not have a thermostat for temperature control and it got a bit too warm during the night.

I stayed here for five nights in July, as well as five nights last August, both for a vacation. As the title says, it was just as good this time. I love the location, just outside of the main tourist areas, in a regular, quiet neighborhood across from the edge of Petrin HIll. There is a tram stop a block away that takes you everywhere you need to go […] if you do not want to walk. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Both times I was able to have my windows open all night and not be bothered by any noise (this time I was on the courtyard, last time the street). The room itself was clean and quiet as it faced a courtyard. A small issue was the bathroom floor which looked as if it had a little mold. The staff were pleasant and helpful except late one evening when guests were making alot of noise. A call to the reception desk should have put an end to it quickly but I ended up wearing ear plugs when the noise […] did not abate after 20 minutes or so. The buffet breakfast was very good. There was a nice variety. I also liked the location - 20 minute walk from Charles Bridge with mini markets along the way with affordable water and snacks. It is 2 short blocks to the tram which is very convenient. Another minor problem was the lack of internet sevice. It is very slow and the settings were messed up which rendered the PC not usable. It took a few days to get it resolved. On the whole, it is good value and the staff were helpful and friendly. I was allowed to check in early which I really appreciated. They even arranged taxi service for me upon my arrival and departure. This was my second stay here. I would stay here again. Read more

One reason we booked here was because they had air conditioning and it was hot. It didn't work. We asked the front desk to check it and went out. We came back 3 hours it was hotter. The guy at the desk said it was checked and it works fine they could do nothing more and seemed bothered by me. We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Kinsky Gardens. The rooms were nice sized, comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast buffet was good sized and had many choices. I would not stay at this hotel again because smoking is allowed in the lobby, television room, and computer area. Just asking the desk clerk a question or using the computer proved hazardous to our health. Even though we were on a non-smoking floor, we could still smell cigarette smoke on our sheets and towels and when using the computer or talking […] to the desk clerk, the cigarette smoke was overwhelming. If you don't mind the excessive cigarette smoke in the hotel's public areas, then you would enjoy this hotel. Great service. Desk clerks were extremely helpful. I requested a nonsmoking room, but did not get one. The smoke smell was a big issue, and I tried to keep the windows open. However, the noise from the road is not nice. I coughed throughout my stay in Prague. It disappeared when I left. Go figure. Unfortunately, the cleaning people closed the windows on me (I had them open but locked as they could […] be so people can't get in). This didn't help. I wanted the windows open to help freshen the air. There's a smoke smell in the lobby also, awaiting you as you step in from the street. I saw several nonsmokers leave throughout my stay (I stayed several nights), and had asked about a nonsmoking room the first night, but never received one. My room was not very clean besides the smoke smell. There was a hair on the toilet, and spots on the mirrors. The other problem was the breakfast. If you come towards the end, there may or may not be some of the (relatively) good food left. Otherwise, the location is fine, and it is what you would expect. If you can guarantee a nonsmoking room (or you don't care/want one), it's fine. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Unfortunately, the smoke issue might be a general problem with Prague. I've only been to Prague once. Read more

I stayed here for six nights. First, it is a great location. As mentioned already, it is extremely close to a tram line so if you want to do the public transportation thing, this is a perfect hotel. Second, it is away from the main tourist area, but not so far away. If you like to walk, you can get to the main tourist areas in 30 minutes. Third, […] the breakfast helps you start the day off -- obviously after six days (me) it can get a tad redundant (same food each day) but if you're there for less and/or plan to eat breakfast out on occasion it works fine. Fourth, there is one computer dedicated to free internet access. Awesome though obviously at times you had to wait your turn. Fifth, one complaint (which is probably related more to my specific room location) is that one early morning I was awaken at about 4 a.m. with the walls shaking. Some generator or something was going. It lasted for perhaps 30 minutes. The other nights I didn't notice it. Sixth, there is a lot of graffiti around, but when you see young Czech women walking alone at midnight it provides some comfort that the neighborhood is safe. Seventh, no American TV channel. There was supposed to be CNN, but not. So if you're a news junkie like me you're stuck with BBC. And if you want to watch NBC, CBS, ESPN -- forget it. Read more
