It's a place to stay in a town that has no options. Picked this over the other due to reviews of bed bugs at the other inn. Place was so plain and ordinary there aren't words. Didn't feel comfy, mattress was easily older than I am. Slept on top of the cover in my own blanket, just in case. Nice view. Eerie quiet. super thick pancakes at "restaurant" […] next door. "Capitol Reef gem"
Enjoyed our one night stay in early June. Room was very quiet, clean and comfortable beds. The pool area was great in the evening, with magnificent views of the red cliffs of Capitol Reef. Location, Location!! The attached diner was very good and reasonably priced for breakfast--buffet or off menu offered. Service at diner exceptional-friendly and efficient. "Rooms were fine"
Visiting Capital reef for a couple of days, hotel close to park. After a long day of hiking it was nice to come back to a comfortable bed and room. Had laundry facilities which we needed.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were thrilled about the location and the view as we pulled up to the reception. We were greeted by a friendly staff and quickly received our keys. Rooms were clean, spacious and well-equipped. During our stay, three family members got sick...the housekeeping staff was unbelievably supportive, friendly and quick to react. "Nice hotel to Stay"
very near to national park. acceptable price. no much more food nearby hotel, have to go to downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice view - average room"
We had a reasonable room with a nice patio view of the red rocks. Close to Capitol Reef National Park. Refrigerator in room. No elevator. No complementary breakfast, but restaurant onsite. Plenty of food options in Torrey. Would recommend as a basic hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Capitol Reef, but still close to town."
Overall, a very good stay. The room was spacious/clean and the grounds were well kept. The restaurant was the basic foods type of restaurant, uncrowded at this time of the year. Rim Rock Restaurants (2) were across the street. Great views surrounding the area. All the features a traveler could want (refrigerator, ice, laundry, internet, food) were available. […] The town of Torrey was a short drive away for more meal selections as well as groceries. This was a popular place to stay, as the parking lot filled up at night. The room itself was fairly standard, however, if you get a room facing the back of the hotel you will be thrilled. I initially was worried as we parked and had to walk down a flight of stairs to get to our room, but the minute I stepped out onto the balcony I understood the reason! You get a view of the whole Capitol Reef from your room and they put […] chairs outside so you can sit and enjoy the sunrise on the rocks with your morning coffee! Fantastic! The park entrance is only a 5 minute drive down the road. Great option if you don't want to camp. Would definitely stay here again. Be careful if you need handicap access, since those stairs could be a problem. Make sure you ask when you make reservation for a room on the upper level (they also have views). "Close to Capitol Reef NP"
Close to Capitol Reef National Park, our destination. Comfortable, great view out the back of the hotel into the red rocks. The restaurant attached wasn't bad, had both dinner and breakfast there. The pool and hot tub do close down at 9 though, wished it was later.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was a note saying the on site restaurant was not affiliated with the hotel but the food was really poor. However, there are other restaurants close by. Hotel was about average, but I would not stay there again....its a bit tired looking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean but walls are THIN"
Had a good stay. It was very clean and would stay there again.....during OFF season. The only drawback was the noise from adjoining rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Somewhere else, this would be average"
This is an older motel, laid out in the standard 1960s-1970s open style. The views from the north side of the hotel are spectacular. Room was clean and well-maintained, as was the entire facility. Not being a frequent guest at Best Western establishments, I can't say for sure, but I got the impression this is not up to their common standard. Room price […] as probably a little high. The best feature was the large hot tub beside the pool. Grand views from there. The restaurant attached is mediocre and the manager downright unfriendly. There are other hostelries in Torrey, 3 miles away. Some newer, some older. Overall, this hotel seemed a good choice for the area. Also, it is closest to Capitol Reef National Park if you are going to go there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved our recent stay and the suite upgrade. Room was very comfortable and the views are breathtaking.Genuine Expedia guest review
We have stayed at quite a few Quality Inns on this trip and this one definitely did not live up to the standards that we thought QI has. The bathroom fixtures were noisy. The breakfast was a real disappointment with ham and hardboiled eggs as the "hot food"along with waffles. We had come to expect at least biscuits and gravy and possibly scrambled eggs. The […] gentleman who greeted us on our arrival was very personable and seemed very happy with his job. The young lady who took over for him that evening and was there again the next morning could have cared less. Her phone was more important that we were and her answers seemed curt. "Road biking through Capital Reef"
After riding 4 hours in and out of Capital Reef National Park, we were thankful not to ride up any further into Torrey, Ut. We walked to a great meal across the highway and all slept well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A plus hotel in the most gorgeous landscape"
The room with a view of the grand red cliffs, suite, sitting on the chairs of the terrace in front of the room was magical. The fountain played water-music beneath soft pink blossoms of a fruit tree, but beyond the carmine cliffs jutted into the blue sky, dotted with white clouds to set free ones dreams. My husband walked for hours in this wonderland […] while I sat and wrote and had breakfast in the comfortable dining room, and later dinner together with the best dish being Philippine. We enjoyed our shorter walks together and the area around Torrey, with a choice of good places to eat. Torrey and Capitol Reef is a fantastic area. We will be back. "Lovely View, Nice Room, Nice Staff"
We were excited on arrival to see that some rooms had lovely views of the surrounding cliffs, and when we asked for a view room we were lucky enough that they had one and were able to give it to us without an additional charge. The room was clean, big, and comfortable, and the motel's big hot tub was a great benefit after a day of hiking. "Very nice hotel surrounded by spectacular scenery"
The hotel is not much to look at, but is surrounded by spectacular scenery. It may sound funny, but we also stayed at very nice hotels in Las Vegas on this trip, but the simple and sensibly designed tub enclosure here was much safer and easier to use than any other we encountered. "Close to the Park"
This hotel's location was great for getting in and out of the park. We had a nice view of the rocks from the room. WiFi was not consistent and the room was cold. The surrounding community was fine. Our hotel gave us easy access to the magnificent beauty of the park as well as the mountains within a 15 miles radius. "Great Hotel in Great Location"
Very near to Capitol Reef. Except for the terrible restaurant they have there, it is nothing to complain about. The great thing is there is a great restaurant opposite Rim Rock and you would have a great meal of your life time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Capitol Reef Resort We are glad you enjoyed our property sorry about the Chimney Rock Restaurant I will make sure they read this. Thank You for your review and your comments on the other eating places.
The restaurant was awful not even edible and was about $20 a person will not eat there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very good experience"
The motel was very clean, which is very important to us. We travel often and appreciate things like a no pet policy. We don't travel with pets, (just wanted to do lots of hiking in Capitol Reef) and we know that motels that don't allow pets are much cleaner and fresher than those that do. The staff was friendly and helpful. A light bulb burned out in […] our room and someone came immediately with a new bulb after we called the front desk. The walls of the room are a bit thin, so it can be a little noisy, but fortunately the other occupants were polite and considerate. We got a good night's sleep. "Clean and Convenient -- what more do you need?"
The Best Western Capitol Reef Resort is a great place to stay in Torrey, UT, just outside of Capitol Reef National Park. The location is convenient for this park and also for those driving Utah's Scenic Highway 12 from or to Bryce Canyon National Park. All kinds of outdoor activities available: hiking, biking, do the Burr Trail loop, Hole in the Rock, […] Boulder Mountain (you can see forever!). Good food at the restaurant and they will pack a lunch for you if you ask. We have stayed there multiple times and keep going back because of the quality of beds, internet, food, service and, electrical outlets! I know, weird, but we need to hook up and they have enough and accessible outlets! Laugh if you want, I understand, but everyone has something, right? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
