The suite I had was clean, comfortable and affordable. The front staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quiet enough to get much needed sleep after long trip. Several restaurants are nearby to allow for any type of dining.
"Clean and Comfortable With a Courteous Staff"

In McAllen on business for a two night stay here. Look, I have yet to have a bad experience at ANY Best Western and this one was no exception to that. The room was very clean and quite comfortable. The property was quiet and the staff was very accommodating. The location has a very convenient frontage road location. Will definitely stay here again if I return.
"Pros and cons .....you decide if it's right for you"

Pros...... Convenient location, room rates reasonable, has a pool if you need one, free breakfast, updated rooms, bed was clean and comfortable enough, all staff we encountered were professional and nice and allowed us to cancel reservations because this wasn't the hotel for us. Cons..... This is a motel, remodeled but still a motel (there's a reason why they don't build them like this anymore), two inch gap under the door allowing critters into the room (eek), free breakfast was better than nothing (I could only eat the yogurt and coffee), AC was old time unit which was very noisy on high, outside of motel was dated and needed a good power washing. You'll just have to see if this motel works for your taste, needs and budget. It wasn't right for us. We are grateful we were allowed to cancel our reservations for three rooms and we moved to the Embassy Suites. If you're used to Hampton/Hilton type properties you'll want to skip this one. If you need a quick stay and are ok with nothing fancy, you'll be fine. Might want to stuff a towel under the door or you might have some unwanted insect visitors. You decide!
"A peaceful stay"

I enjoyed this stay because the room was nice the beds were comfortable . The amenities are nice didn't use the pool but it was close to my room , liked that the ice machine was nearby as well. The grounds were clean and maintained . The breakfast was hot and delicious from the hot food which the staff made sure there was always something in the trays. The assortment of juice was a plus . The location is great near a shopping center but you can drive to all the nearby cities just by getting on the highway or following the frontage road.

Stayed two nights with my family at Best Western Rose Garden Inn. It was very good from check in to departure! All the staff were courteous and efficient. Motel has a very convenient location... Close to everything! This motel is very clean. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Good breakfast w/ real food is included in price too!

The last weekend, we travel to Mc Allen, and previously made a reservation by phone with 2 rooms, we got our reservation number and everything seemed fine. On arrival we went to the hotel and to our surprise they had recorded the number that passed us on the phone and no rooms, fortunately, we had recorded the call in the history of the telephone and the sequence number of the reservation was for the hotel so they accepted the mistake of the person who took our phone. No rooms were available only where we settled 7 people (no pillows or blankets for all), and amended his error without giving us the next night cost of a room. The next day, in the afternoon. With "trust" that inspired us to the hotel about 4:30 pm, we went to check in, to make sure that that day, if we sleep in bed, we got the key (room 228) and were quiet . Like almost everyone who traveled to Mc. Allen, the priority is shopping, we focus on that, we arrived late to the hotel, and go to the room, the key did not work, went to the front desk without asking anything, just asked me the room number, the reprogrammed. On returning to room 228, the key would not open and what was our surprise to be tried, it opens a person, the room for check in we had done WAS OCCUPIED. We returned back to the fornt desk and explain the situation to the employee, who reviewed a folder where you have the records and our check in was at that time (12:30 a .. m.) Night, picked up the phone and ask people who leave the room. Obviously the person who was the fourth employee refused and threatened to send him SECURITY FOR THEM OUT. Upon hearing this, we asked him if there was another room, so we gave it to us and said ahh ok, then give them to you and the other person told that a good night ..?. The next day, the first thing I did in the morning was to go to front desk and ask for the manager to give me an explanation or at least inform the matter. Employees told me I was not and that he would call the manager, they made me wait 30 minutes, then, as I had not signed the room, but my brother, I was asked what they would bring to that version. He repeated what happened and HIM ONLY YOU ASKED THE APOLOGY. I have no complaints with the hotel that are expected for the cost we paid, but I have several questions for hotel executives. 1. Anyone who asks rescheduling only key to the room number can do? ME LOOKING FOR A LACK OF SECURITY FOR YOUR GUESTS. . 2 - Can an employee at midnight TAKE OUT A PERSON AND HIS FAMILY, plus you threaten OF SECURITY SEND administrative because someone made a mistake? IF SO WHY anyone staying IN ITS FACILITIES TO BE AWAKENED, EVICTED STILL HAVING PAID. . 3 - Does your authorized to offer USED BY OTHER PEOPLE WITHOUT CLEANING room staff? BECAUSE WE ARE PAYING FOR A CLEAN AND TIDY ROOM and employee thoiught that lift people from 228 at midnight and we we entered to sleep on beds that had been others. At that time staff have nfor clean rooms And to top it off, as I did not signed up for the room, no apologies touched me!, Anyway, I will not back in this hotel in the future, but in the end it was the star employee errors, or think they should be more careful in choosing staff or train them properly. I had never spent this in years of traveling I have Mc.Allen, now I have to tell you BEWARE YOUR RESERVATION AND CHECK-IN AT BEST WESTERN ROSE GARDEN BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT RELIABLE. I do not put more things that came to my mind with what could have been by the lack of security and negligence of the hotel staff, I leave to your imagination.

Its a great hotel with easy access to the McAllen and surrounding areas centrally located, friendly staff mm.... the breakfast buffet needs some improvement but its ok.. free Wi-Fi and a business center makes it easy to print necessary documents like I constantly do.

Even is it nothing to fancy, it accomplishes its goals in being practical and useful. The staff there was certainly nice and attentive. The rooms have been redecored with more modern furniture, overall the room was very clean and comfortable.

The room had an odor when we arrived and I bought some air freshener to help the odor, but it never totally went away. It seems the room attendant was reluctant to give us extra towels. The breakfast was really good on the days that they served bacon, but the sausage was really tough.

My husband and I recently went to McAllen for a wedding, and stayed at the Rose Garden. The outside of the hotel looks dated, but the room was nice, clean, and much larger than we expected. It's located next to a shopping center (thankfully, because I forgot the dress for the wedding!) that has a Burlington Coat Factory, Michaels, and a few other stores. It's also next door to Rio Grande Regional hospital, so if you're visiting someone there, it is very convenient. Breakfast, which was included, was very good and well worth it. Enjoy!
