BW ALPEN RESORT HOTEL - Zermatt

The positives: location is central, right near ski bus; the included breakfast is great before a day on the slopes; the room was spacious. The negatives: the beds are HARD; the room we had (room 106) with a "Matterhorn view" only had a view when walking out onto the patio when you were then staring into the breakfast area (could not see Matterhorn from room!); the front desk service was hit or miss - very rude when we arrived but great when we left.

The rooms are quite small but very clean and comfortable. Not used to having insufficent storage to empty our 2 suitcases but the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The hotel was remodelled in 2010 so it is in excellent condition. The ski room was great and had nice ski boot warmers. Next time will book all the evening meals in advance as there is a heft premium to book on a day to day basis - which we did anyway because the food was quite good. All in all a very pleasant stay with convenient ski bus stops.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The level of service from all staff members was excellent. The ski locker rm and assistant was also very convenient. Easy access to all the aspects of Zermatt

This was great hotel and ideally located.

Just a nice place to stay. Very nice people rooms are fun and very clean. Maybe the fact that you cannot control the heat in the room was a drag. As long as you keep the balcony door open to cool down the room you will be ok. Great spa and outside jacuzzi. Good ski room with boot heater in each closet nice touch in the morning before you go to ski. Just don't go ski in the Italienne side. We got stock there 1 night in a unconfortable hotel. They close the gondola for no reason ( nothing to do with the hotel) and if you dont have 700 euros to go back via taxi to zermatt you are done!!!! great hotel. We will be back.
