We were there for 3 days....there were 6 huge events going on. The hotel was always clean, staff was friendly. You would have never know the hotel was completely booked. The only downfall was there is no longer a free zone for the Max train.

Check-in was easy and all staff we pleasant and eager to help. However the rooms to need some attention. The rooms were generally clean but they were small and lacked the amenities one would expect of the Doubletree name. Two issues with the hotel. The food is overly salty. But the seasonal "influence" is actually pretty consistent for dinner. The buffet... well there's a food court at the mall across the street for non-dinner meals. Heat! Good grief. My hotel room was roasting. The hotel was overall very clean and comfy. We got our room on a special deal and for being a 4 star hotel we thought we would have all of the above. We did not have a fridge or microwave in our room and would have to pay for internet. Luckily we had a nice receptionist give us a passcode for internet so we didn't have to pay. Also you can ask for a […] microwave to be brought up to your room at no cost so that was good. Just for the price would have expected a little more. But overall beautiful hotel in a wonderful spot. We were at the Double Tree with our entire family (3 young children), we got a standard double queen bedroom and got and extra little bed, there is plenty of room and great view to the park. We were there for the week end NBA game (go Blazers!) and the location was just perfect, close the park, to the light train, to the mall and only few blocks from […] the Arena. The best thing about this hotel is the delicious cookies they offer when you check in! The location is ok, it's in a quieter neighborhood with a 15 min walk to Safeway, banks, and places to eat other than the mall across the street. Otherwise you have to take the Max line that's just outside the hotel, which can take you to the convention center (saves […] you from the 15 min walk) and downtown. I was a little put off by the stain I found on the sheets and was disappointed that there was not a vending machine on our floor. The walls are really thin and we were able to hear neighbors above us and people talking just outside our room. But the room service was good and the staff were very helpful and really kind. Loved staying here for our quick weekend trip to Portland to visit our daughter at school. Room was spacious and clean... lobby and other areas were very nice. Great front desk staff... very entertaining and they recommended a fantastic dessert place close by (Pix) that saved us from a long wait at the place we were planning to go. Great location... […] near shopping and close to downtown. We've paid MUCH more for hotels right downtown that were not as nice. Stayed for a business trip to the convention center - The upgrade of the bar/restaurant has made a HUGE difference. We had planned on going out to dinner one night, but enjoyed the place so much we stayed there. I have heard that same thing from a few other friends as well. The hotel is located very close to all local transit and seemed to be central to all the places we ended up going to. The farthest we had to travel was 30 min on the Max coming and going to the airport. The breakfast they offered was nice and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was finishing up a convention the day we arrived. Our convention began the next day. The staff was fantastic, always friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Everyone in our group commented on them. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good location for shopping at Lloyd Center with easy freeway access to get to other locations. Heater was not working in the room in the middle of winter with 37 degrees F outside at night and pouring rain. Then next day engineer came, said he fixed some valve in the ceiling. Then it was unbearably hot. Good thing we only stayed 3 nights and were gone most of the day. Otherwise the hotel was fine and the location perfect for us.

I made reservations at the DoubleTree for a weekend getaway with my wife, and it was definitely good enough for that. The hotel is pretty much what one would expect from a DT, and everything including the standard was to our expectations. Perhaps the room was a little small (those wanting to do e.g. pushups would not find enough space to do so), and […] the neighborhood wasn't all that much fun. My wife and I are fast and eager walkers, but most would find this hotel too far from downtown Portland. On the positive side, and to our surprise, the hotel offered a great breakfast buffet at a very affordable price. Too bad we didn't notice it before the last day... There was no information in the room re: the breakfast restaurant as well as prices and terms for their WiFi, etc. So information was scarce, and we found no way of contacting the front desk via phone (no directory and only direct buttons for room service, etc.). We also got no hot water the last day, which wasn't fixed until (I assume) after we checked out around noon; when notifying the front desk (by taking the elevators...) they seemed surprised about the fact, and offered (!) to talk to maintenance. But there was no offer of compensation or a solution to the no-shower-today problem. This was the only major problem we had during our stay. Parking was great and convenient (we had a rental) and the staff was courteous and helpful (but not more than the minimum required). Read more

This hotel is near the convention center and on the map seems far from all of Portland's coolness, but if you don't mind a short walk or train ride, you can be in the middle of coffee shop heaven soon enough. The downstairs bar is pretty packed at night (a good thing), and the train stops right across the street from the hotel, making for a very quick […] trip downtown. Or walk it in, about 25 minutes across the bridge. When you are forced to return home, take the train right back into the middle of the airport. Read more
