"Decent for where it's at..."
Wasn't too impressed this time around, room was small, not even sure it was a king despite that being what I booked. No bath, just a shower stall. Room was clean and the bed was comfy albeit the wrong size. One huge plus was the free parking and the fact that I was allowed super early check-in as we arrived earlier than anticipated. I have stayed in […] the tower before which has nicer rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is great as far as location goes. It's close to the Max train line which makes commuting to downtown easy. The rooms are pretty tiny and mine was not the cleanest when I arrived (hairs in the shower and on bathroom floor). The staff is really friendly and helpful in giving directions to delicious local restaurants. I thought the hotel food […] was over priced for the quality. You're definitely better off eating somewhere in the city or across the street at Stanford's (next to Nordstrom's at Lloyd center). Overall I would stay here again because of the location but I did think the price of the room was too high for what was offered (paper thin walls made it easy to hear your neighbors conversations/TV). "Bathroom unclean and shower visibly broken"
After a long day and arriving at 9:00 p.m., I went in to take a shower and the shower head had been held up by a plastic clip that was broken. Whoever cleaned the room last just stuck it in a towel rack, so the entire time I showered I had to hold the shower head. There were black hairs all over the bathroom. I am blonde. The carpet felt damp and sticky […] and the room was just unsatisfactory. When I told the staff the next morning, they comped me $10 for my parking. I paid almost $200 for the room. If I had known how bad it was going to be, I would have paid an extra $20-$40 for a much better hotel room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved it !!! Loved the location ! Size if the room...Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel and good food if you eat there. The light rail stops right outside the door. If your coming in to PDX the red line stops there too. Didn't wander too much in the neighborhood. There is a mall and theater within walking. About a 10 min ride on light rail to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good experience all around!"
No complaints at all!! The rooms were comfortable, service was great. I would encourage anyone to stay here!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The double tree was a nice central location to a lot of attractions and activities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not Worth It - Misleading Advertising"
Pillows on the bed could have been out of a homeless shelter-bad. Mattress okay. The Tv was old and small and still receiving some channels in standard definition. They were scratchy, and the TV is so far from the bed it's really not worth turning on. The charge for parking in 24 hours was twenty dollars! No breakfast and the in room coffee was weak. "Best Option for Central City Portland"
The staff was excellent. We requested expedited check-in and were impressed with the speed and ease of service. Can't beat a free fresh-baked cookie.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Nice hotel it's a bit older but great service and close to get into downtown Portland and close to the airport. I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"accommodating staff, best air conditioning ever"
Due to weather, I missed my connecting flight home. Fortunately, we were scheduled to drive to Portland the following day for a Steve Winwood/Tom Petty concert at the Moda center. My newly acquired service dog in training and I got out of the Seattle Airport on the first flight after sleeping in the terminal. We got to the hotel by 8 am. There were […] no rooms ready at that time but I was assured as a Hilton Honors member they'd work to get me a room between 10-11. I was given a complementary breakfast to fill the time. The food was decent for hotel buffett. The staff helpful, working with me and the young service dog. Sure enough, before 11 I got my room early, no early check in fee assessed. The weather was muggy, I was grubby, tired and hot. In most hotels I've stayed in, the air conditioning is regulated outside of your in room thermostat and rarely can you get the room cold.I was actually able to get the room down to 69. The room itself was clean, two queen beds, view of downtown, right on the Trimax line, and with a very nice park right across the street. Though the room rate was in excess of 2 hundred, I will stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Large comfortable business hotel"
Good large room with balcony, close to transport and Lloyds Shopping Center, but otherwise remote from restaurants etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Nice Hotel"
Very Nice Hotel. Well located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were give a hotel right in front of the elevator so all you could here was the elevator going up and down. We also had the ice machine right in front of our room so we had to listen to that all night. At midnight one of the staff decided to vacuum in the hallway and woke us up.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by DoubleTree by Hilton Portland Thank you for your recent stay Diana. I am terribly sorry about the challenges you experienced with noise at the hotel. I will definitely be investigating the late night vacuuming, as that should not have happened. I do hope you will try us again and we would be happy to find you a room away from the elevator. My apologies again.
"just steps from light rail transportation -"
clean, comfortable, and just a few steps to the transit lines. So you can get anywhere easily. Lounge/Bar served great food. Friendly, and accomodating. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel in the heart of Portland."
Clean rooms and comfortable beds. We asked for a rollaway and it was brought up immediately. They validate your parking in a structure just across the street. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lightrail stops right outside"
I've probably stayed at this hotel a dozen times or more. Right on the light rail line, across the street from a Mall and a park. Construction going on in the neighborhood summer 2014, no breakfast, and they charge $10 a night to park, but all in all it's a nice hotel for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice, great value"
This was a very nice accommodation. The lobby was large, had a restaurant, bar and coffee bar. The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, a very nice stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, Comfortable, Conscientious"
Very EnjoyableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was good overall. The tile in the bathroom had very dirty/stained grout and there was some king of a stain on the ceiling that looked like water damage. Nothing that couldn't be solved by painting the ceiling with a water resistant/mold resistant paint/primer. The service was great however and other than that the room was very comfortable […] and priced well considering location Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very comfortable stay"
We were visiting family in the area and the hotel was only 10 minutes away. The room was very clean and comfortable. My son got a lot of use out of the pool!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was nice, clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. The view from the window was the air conditioning unit on the roof. Location to public transportation is excellent. But....We were promised a 4:00PM check-in, and the room wasn't ready until 4:40. No big deal unless you've been traveling and killing time since […] 4:00AM Eastern Standard Time and are beyond ready for a nap and a shower before a dinner meeting at 5:30. We were not happy. Doubletree did provide a free breakfast for the inconvenience, however, a complimentary bottle of wine thrown in as well might have improved our rating. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Quite What We Had Hoped for"
This hotel is overall an excellent value when considering the location (excellent) and other amenities. However, don't expect spacious rooms to be part of your experience. Our well appointed room was reminiscent of those we found in Europe or possibly even Japan, tiny. Also, the hotel says it offers both queen and king sized beds. We found the bed size […] to be closer to a standard double and were somewhat cramped. If you are looking for a convenient location with lots of shopping, this is it. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room we suggest shopping around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was great but the service was the worst I ever have. Maybe they have a new people so they couldn't answer my questions. The second floor had an awful smell like a Chinese food or garlic. And on top of that they charged me for the restaurant service that I never used.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by DoubleTree by Hilton Portland Thank you for your recent stay. I am terribly sorry our team was not able to answer your questions. We pride ourselves on being experts on the area and want every guest to feel our service is extraordinary. I again am so sorry it was not with you. I am hopeful we were able to get the extra charge removed from your bill. Thank you for your business and I sincerely hope we will have the chance to serve you again and demonstrate our desire to serve you and all our guests with excellence.
Thin walls, excessive noise from neighboring rooms such as snoring and drawers slamming shut. Expected a little more peace and quiet at a Hilton hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great place to stay, especially for events at convention center. Metro stop right at corner is quite convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by DoubleTree by Hilton Portland Thanks for your recent stay and great review! We appreciate your business and hope to have the luxury of serving you again soon.
Light rail red line from the airport to hotel. I went everywhere by public transportation. Close to a mall.Genuine Expedia guest review
The service, location, and cleanliness of the DoubleTree are great. Being next to the lightrail makes traveling in Portland easy and cheap. On that note, it'd be helpful to know ahead of time of the costs of using the adjoining parking garage. But otherwise, no problems.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We arrived late after flying cross country. We went to the Doubletree and checked in. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She gave us bottled water, wi-fi and breakfast vouchers all complimentary. We were so exhausted, since we both are in our sixties and both have ambulatory issues. She made our late arrival and our exhaustion a lot easier […] to bear. I highly recommend the Doubletree in Portland to anyone visiting the city. It is nicely located in the city, with the Max ( rail system) across the street. It is also within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Taxis are easily accessible by the desk calling for a cab and the cab showing up in 5 minutes or less. All in all the stay at this hotel was fantastic and I will always stay here when I am in Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny Room and Bathroom"
Several years ago, the hotel was in much better condition than it is now. Additionally, the rooms in the older section were larger and much superior to those currently offered. The basic room now offers only a queen bed...it is very minimal. Look elsewhere, a better deal can be found.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spacious comfort near the Moda Center"
Our room was a spacious room allowing plenty of space for the 3 of us. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and the convenience of being less than a mile from PSU graduation. The breakfast buffet was delicious and they were accommodating in preparing our eggs other than the scrambled offered on the buffet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed for a weekend. The room was great. The room overlooked construction across the street which wasn't the best but there wasn't really any construction noise. The location is pretty nice, its about a 5 to 10 minute drive to downtown Portland. Its close enough that we were able to come back and relax for an hour or so and then go back downtown without […] taking too much time out of the day. Really enjoyed getting a cookie during check in. I traveled to Portland with my husband and two young children. We stayed in a large King room and we're very comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating and allowed us an early check in (which was a big plus with two little ones in tow). "Hotel had everything I needed for the weekend!"
I never write reviews for hotels, but I thought the Doubletree staff were AMAZING...all of them! They were courteous, helpful, timely, and went above and beyond whatever was asked of them. I am on a special diet and requested a frig in my room, and it was there, I needed food heated up and the guy at the coffee place not only did it, but he was so friendly […] and made a mean cup of coffee too! The bellman was great! My flight was delayed until 10:30 at night, but they let me keep my things there, bother them time and again to get stuff out, helped me figure out public transportation, gave me a schedule, made everything easy. I felt so cared for traveling alone. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. And just for the record, I love to travel but normally prefer B&B's and VRBOs normally. And one last thing, I loved that they had a decent workout facility with great equipment! I own a health studio, and loved seeing such quality equipment in a hotel workout room. And there were people actually using it, which is a testament to you all leaving no stone unturned! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Only a couple of things kept me from giving Doubletree all 5's. First, I had not expected to pay for parking. Possibly my error but I had not noticed the charge in the hotel description and was unpleasantly surprised. Second, water pressure on the 10th floor was lackluster. The he terrific thing about this hotel is it's convenience to the city of Portland […] and to the Columbia River Gorge. The light rail stop into Portland is right across the street and the concierge couldn't have been nicer and more helpful in getting us started on the public transit system. The next day we were heading out to the gorge and got onto Rte. 84 within minutes. Staying at the Doubletree definitely made our vacation stress-free. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean hotel but not comfortable!"
Convenient location close to downtown. But the room was very small, beds and the pillows uncomfortable. We had backache after 2 nights of sleep there. They charge 20$ for parking and no free breakfast available which is not good value given they are not located in downtown exactly. Clean hotel but I wont recommend it as you still look for comfort in […] your stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good, but not great"
I stayed in Portland for a week-long conference. The hotel is close to the Convention Center, and there are nice places to go jogging close by. It's a short train ride downtown. However, we were a bit disappointed that the room wasn't always cleaned and re-stocked (e.g. dirty coffee cups), but not a big deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
