Dirty, noisy, water to room cut off without notice. Manager was unhelpful and unsympathetic but his assistant was pleasant and gave us a refund.

We stayed there as a family of four for one night. The hotel did not provide adequate value for the money since the rooms were outdated and were not kept in good shape, e.g. the wallpaper in the room was partly torn off and the bathroom tub appeared dirty. The air in the hallways and the rooms did not appear fresh either. The free-of-charge WiFi access […] was unavailable. The breakfast and dining room was freshly painted. Breakfast was okay and at the lower level of what you could expect. Sadly, Ullapool does not provide too many alternative places to stay on short notice during the summer season. Read more

I saw many negative comments about this hotel before booking. As we needed 2 double bedrooms, I did not have other choices. Thus I had to book this hotel. This hotel looks nice from outside. When we were going towards the room, I could see the dirty wall and carpet. We entered the room and found 2 dirty mugs on the table. There was no hand wash in the […] bathroom. Anyway, they supplied one tiny soap and we used it as the alternate of hand wash. There were 2 cheap plastic glasses to drink water. We have a very little kind, and we did not get extra bed or cot. The breakfast was horrible and it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. They did not have many options in the breakfast. I never expected this types of poor facilities at the high price. Had two elderly passengers with me,when we arrived carpark at front of hotel was full so had to let passengers out and find parking quite a bit up the street not realising until we said about the parking at the reception was told about the parking round the back of hotel. Also thier was no lift for our elderly parents,they had to struggle up the stairs […] and we had to struggle with the suitcases. Over all the rooms were nice and comfortable,although dust present. Grim place to stay. Has not been decorated since the 70's (probably), bar is dingy and dirty and the food, which you have to queue for, smelled terrible. Hotel appears to be frequented by coach loads of "senior citizens" who appear to not want to be there either. Bed was comfortable and clean, however. Travelled the world and this as got two be the worst hotel ever.Room and Bathroom awfull....springs gone in mattress and wood placed on floor round toilet to cover god knows what.Arrived at breakfast 20 mins after it opened,no seats,no food and no staff.Can't understand why on earth coach firms come here.....avoid at all costs

The Caledonian Hotel ist in einem zentralen Gebäude in Ullapool am Hafen untergebracht. Parkplätze sind hinter dem Haus vorhanden. Im Lobbybereich befindet sich eine Art Pub, der jugendliche Trinker und Hafenarbeiter anzieht. Zahlreiche leere Flaschen vor dem Hoteleingang – in Sichtweite der Rezeptionistin, trinkende und laute Gäste haben uns einen […] schlechten ersten Eindruck vermittelt. Unser Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber. Das Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig (Farbe fällt von der Wand etc). Das Frühstück bestand aus einem warmen Buffet. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis des Hotels ist im Vergleich zu einem B&B derselben Preiskategorie sehr enttäuschend. Auch für Reisende, die eine Fähre nehmen wollen, kann ich dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen. Jedes B&B in der Umgebung wird besseres Frühstück und ruhigere Zimmer haben als dieses Hotel. Read more

Bij aankomst troffen we een bijzonder smerig toilet aan, iemand was aan de dunne geweest en dat was niet schoongemaakt. Zeer ouderwets hotel. Stonden geboekt voor een continentaal ontbijt, dit bestond alleen uit wat geroosterd brood, Raad dit hotel niemand aan. Prijs kwaliteitsverhouding ver te zoeken.
