"Typical aging, low-budget property"
There are hundreds of properties like this across the country. They were built cheaply many years ago and maybe have been refurbished once or twice. Upkeep struggles and the overall condition of the physical plant slowly goes backward, year-by-year. If you're on a budget, this Econo Lodge is acceptable. My room was comfortable and relatively clean. […] The HVAC and plumbing all worked well. The breakfast was fine though pretty limited. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Low price, but dingy and smelly"
We were not expecting too much since the price was quite low, but we were still fairly disappointed. We paid for a no-smoking room but the room reeked of cigarette smoke. The chair was old and dirty, the ceiling had a big, un-finished repair job, and the sheets on the bed were worn so thin you could see through them in places.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was okay. I didn't like that they were trying to change my room for my second night stay,I couldn't see the channel numbers on the television, and that there was a couple of stains on the carpet. But overall it was average stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Property looked tired"
On the positive side the staff was nice and the location was good. I was very disappointed in the condition of the property. It looked old & tired. This appeared to be an older property with less than average upkeep. I actually went in the room and then went downstairs to leave but due to the ice storm found out all other rooms in town full so had to […] stay. In any normal trip after seeing room/hotel I would not have stayed there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Bad Experience"
Horrible place with horrible people. I booked room to stay during ice storm with infants, got there and hotel had no power. Tried to cancel and hotel argued me down laughed at me and even said i was talking stupid. Hotels.com decided to give me my money back. Very thankful to the site. But hotel management is definitely very poor. BAD BUSINESS!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price, nice room with good sized common areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Could have been worse"
Room could have been cleaner, but only stayed for a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They would not let me cancel my reservations even though I called twice and e-mailed them. I stayed somewhere else and still had to pay for a very overpriced room that was for smokers and had a double bed for my wife and I.Anybody who reads this run as fast as you can away from this place and for Gods sake don't give them a credit card number.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"near Augusta for the Masters"
It was barely acceptable but served our purpose to see the Masters. therate was way too high for this type of motel and I'm sure was raised way up because of the Masters.which is wrong,.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great price for the Masters week!"
WE would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I took my 30 year old son down to Augusta Ga. to go to "The Masters" golf. We understood the outrageous prices for the room per night, but the floor lamp didn't have a switch on it so we couldn't use it. One of the chairs in the room was broken and could not be used. The wall in the bathroom next to the tile floor was pushed in exposing the inner wall. […] And lastly, but could have been easily fixed was, the exit door was very dirty from previous hand prints etc. that had not been cleaned off for some time! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Room was very much overpriced as related to comfort and cleanliness. Bed pillows were half sized - not at all comfortable. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was chosen based upon the Hotels.com information that they had an indoor pool for our grandchildren who were making the trip with us. Their indoor pool was covered over in concrete....big disappointment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Non-smoking room had overwelming smell of stale smoke. Hair dryer shut off after 5 minutes and would not reset.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"CLEANEST PET FRIENDLY"
i ALWAYS DO THE SMELL TEST. THIS HOTEL DID NOT SMELL OF MILDEW, PETS OR SMOKE. IT WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE FOR A TWO STAR AND PET FRIENDLY MOTEL THE LOCATION HAS DRIVE-ABLE RESTAURANTS. THE DOWNTOWN, ABOUT A MILE AWAY, IS OLD HISTORIC AND QUAINT. RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS ARE A DESTINATION. THE MOTEL CHECK-IN STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND ACCOMODATING. THE BREAKFAST […] BUFFET WAS LIGHT. This hotel is horrible, room's are dirty, bathroom door did not close, room's stink, staff can not speak english and are not friendly, guest services is bad no towels in the room had to keep going to front desk for towel's, lounge has a staff that does not know how to mix a drink I had to mix my own. I do not recommend this hotel to a dog...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, Rude staff"
The location of this hotel is very family friendly. There are restaurants within walking distrance as well as stores such as Walgreens and Walmart. Our room has a pull out couch which was super convenient for a family of 5. The hotel is a bit tired, but mostly clean. The breakfast was very small and had no attendent to keep the food stocked. Once […] it was gone, it was gone. The staff was really rude. We definitely did not see southern hospitality and graceful manners here. This was a surprise and disappointment. We felt like we were bothering the staff if we asked for a pool towel. Bottom line, convenient, clean enough, good price, but don't expect anything from the staff. "Close to Augusta..& other golf courses"
We were there for the opening practice of Augusta. Hotel was VERY close & very convenient to the course. Employees very helpful on info and very well prepared for the "sold out" night. Will definite go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel close to several food and shopping choices. Cheapest hotel around. Room was maintained by someone every day of my 3 night stay. My only drawback was that they did not have many channels (14) available for television viewing. Not important if you do not spend much time watching television.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"It is what it is ..."
We came down for the Masters, and were shocked by prices in Augusta so we chose the Econo Lodge - and it is what it is. It is a roadside inn, However it was comfortable - little dated on the Rooms, not all doom and gloom that you read on here - it's about 20 mins to the Masters, and the surrounding location has a Pharmacy, Walmart and all the stores […] you need. We paid a high premium to stay because it was the week of the Masters...that is understandable....however the amenities could have been substantially improved at a minimal cost to the franchisee/operator...we arrived late and stayed for two nights and was not the least bit regretful to check out asap...we will not recommend this location to others and […] do not intend to revisit if and when we return to the area !!! "Typical Low-budget Property"
04/13/14 Al D Frisco, Texas
This property is at least "average" if only older, low-budget motels are considered. There are hundreds of these inexpensively-built and now aging properties around the country. This one has been refurbished in the last few years, and though maintenance is struggling to keep up with its deteriorating physical plant, it provides an average experience for its class. My bed was comfortable and the plumbing and HVAC worked well. Though "worn around the edges," the room was fine. The breakfast was pretty basic, but adequate. The rate I paid was exhorbitant, but it was for the Masters Tournament weekend. And it was considerably less than I would have paid for a similar room a half-hour away in Augusta.
"Better than expected"

Stayed here during ice storm. Was skeptical, because Econo Lodge doesn't have a good reputation, but they have come a long way. Very nice lady at check-in and checkout. I do think the price was raised at this time, but I am not for sure. We just needed a place to stay for warmth. We were pleasantly surprised! Rooms clean, sheets and cover clean, and overall nice room. Could not tell you about the rest because the lights eventually went out and we were back at square one! So we decided to freeze at home. I wish we were given a discount or something because of the outage. We stayed for 5 hours before the lights and heat went out, which I know it couldn't be helped, but it would have been nice to maybe even been offered a free night or discount on our next stay. Overall, I would stay again. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants. And service was good!

This place is in a bad neighborhood scary place! We landed there at 2 am after staying at the hospital with a terminal I'll friend. Check guy took forever to check us in. I paid cash so I wouldn't have to give him my credit card. The first room he gave us had recently been occupied. The bed was slept in the room was a mess. The 2nd room around back had a dark parking lot with a bunch of men drinking beer. We parked around front. The room was so gross. I was afraid to touch the shower curtain or any thing else! Very 2nd section of town too. Ended up at the Hampton inn for the 2 nd night!
"TERRIBLE.....new owners don't care"
10/23/13 v t Linden, Virginia
I have stayed here 3 times, the first 2 were fine but my last stay after new owners have taken over was a freaking nightmare !! There is no pool no lobby or tropical bar!! After unpacking and getting ready to leave to visit my daughter at school we found out that our door didn't lock so we had to move rooms , then the next morning while I was warming up my shower the shower head came off twice and flooded the bathroom, there is also no cover on the rusted light fixture in the bathroom and all the towel racks are totally rusted. Then after a day of shopping and sight seeing we went back to our room only to find that our key card didn't work almost making us late to see my daughters game. The owners offered no compensation or even so much as an apology. I have pictures of the disgusting bathroom and from now on we will be staying at the Quality Inn a block away !!

I had the pleasure of being checked in by the owner and his wife. They were both friendly and the check in was speedy. The room was nice and spacious. We loved the decor. As someone who works in the hotel business good service and a clean room went a long way in my boo.

we got bit, I had at least 8 red bites on me. I knew it was too good to be true, my luck ran out on the 'sweet deal and great hotel'. We went back down the road to the Quality Inn, the only thing there that bites is the mean girl that works the lounge at night.

"It is what It is"

LOBBY well lit, clean FRONT DESK HELP: nice, cordial, fast booking, he didnt know if our room had a pull out couch or not, but did offer to bring us a roll out if we needed it, they beat the price of the Quality Inn we used last week. CHECK-IN: the young lady was very nice and very helpful. turns out our 2 rooms didnt have "A" couch, she brought us a roll out.......but they only had one. It was late so we got some extra cushions and blankets and drew staws to sleep on the floor. To their defence they did offered us another room. ROOM: it smelled like a fashion show, 'Jordan Sparks' perfume as a matter of fact. (I saw it when we were picking up the roll-a-way bed) Now if they were hidding some other smell it worked, and it wasnt real strong, nobody complained. the front door took a bit to shut, showers are strong, beds are hardish, TV's are old but good picture, walls were dirty in spots, room had fresh paint, it looked good. The furniture is clean and looks like a hodge podge from other hotels. We were in rooms 104-103 which are on the bottom front of the hotel, it seems these are the best spots to be. FYI, there is a Hospital just around the corner and down the road, I'm a bit of a light sleeper so I was woke up 3 times during the night with ambulance sirens. PARKING/SITE: it looks well lit, a burger king on one side and a jiffy lube on the other, I recommend staying on the front side bottom. I drove around back and it seemed dark and there were cars parked there that seemed to have been there a while. INDOOR POOL: It was closed, too bad, I had my trunks with me this time LOUNGE AREA; .50 to play pool, 2 dart boards (darts were on their last leg), juke box (lots of country music and old rock n roll), beer was cold, bartender was great. While at the lounge the man that booked our rooms walked in and remember our names BREAKFAST: Go to burger King or 1/2 a block up is a Dunkin Donuts, not worth the time. AROUND TOWN: Walmart plaza just accross the street and a BP with the cheapest gas around $2.95
"It's one of those "hourly" places"
09/23/11 couplefrommd856 Baltimore, Maryland
This hotel could be decent, but it is very run down and the staff is apathetic. We've stayed 3 times in order to visit our college student down the road and every room has issues, such as plumbing (running, ill flushing toilets) and walls badly in need of painting, garbage cans never being emptied and trash not picked up around the hotel. The bathroom areas are pretty gross-the tiles are cracked and grout is disgusting and the door had dirty areas. Last time there was some sort of foreign goo on the shower wall. I doubt the maid does much cleaning in there. The neighbors were extremely loud at 2 am last visit. Talking and banging doors and coming and going. That seems to be the case every visit we've had there-all kinds of shouting, banging doors and people yacking at all hours of the night. One trip, an older guy asked me if I had a "switch blade" because he was trying to open up a pay as you go cell phone. Seriously? I told him I usually only carry my .45 while traveling. He lingered too long by my door. There are a lot of sketchy people who rent there, let me tell ya. We had NO MAID SERVICE during our last visit. They just never came. Not that it mattered-the maids don't do a good job cleaning. The first time I stayed, there was construction dust all over the room and the carpet had construction debris as well. The food at the Continental breakfast is scary. I would not advise anyone to eat it. The sausage gravy sits all morning and then they just refrigerate it and pull it out the next day. I saw them do it. The crock pot never gets cleaned and the old gravy just congeals at the bottom/they add new stuff to it. The danishes and bagels are stale as can be. Think "hockey puck" and the coffee is terrible. The staff just doesn't seem to care and they get annoyed if you ask for anything. Someone ought to buy this property, tear the hotel down and start over. The University needs a good hotel close by and there are none.
