Great hotel right on the main drag in Madrid which puts you very close to many attractions and restaraunts. The local Metro / Train stations are very close to the hotel, which allowed us to basecamp from this hotel and visit many places in Spain during the trip. All was well accept that there is no fitness facility. The terrace views are spectacular and the rooms very spacious for being a major southern European city. You cannot beat the location for proximity to old town, the palace, and other sites.

It was most enjoyable. It is a relatively small hotel with 9 floors. The 9th floor has a rooftop view of the entire city, and there are three lovely "living rooms" and bar. Great location, close to two metro stops, pretty easy to get anywhere. 10 or 15 minute walk to Plaza Mayor or Puerta Del Sol, and that's if you take your time. Gran Via itself is forgettable, it's just a modern street with lots of shopping, but take pretty much any street off the Gran Via and you're in Old Madrid with all it's character and charm. We enjoyed the location and having an english speaking check in experience. Our room was large with a balcony. There are electric rolling metal shutters which cover the windows if you choose to darken and cut out much of the street noise.

We enjoyed the Hotel Atlantico; the location is perfect if you want to discover old Madrid. The roof garden and business center give it an edge over other hotels as does the outstanding service. Remember you are on one of the main busy streets, so expect city noise. It didn't alter our view at all.

We had already been in Spain for 8 days and our last 4 nights were spent at Hotel Atlantico. They have everything you could want, either inside the hotel, or right outside the door. We received excellent service by the staff. The rooftop terrace and lounge area is quite nice. They give you free nuts and olives to eat while you drink up there. The room […] we were originally given was a little small, and when we inquired, they upgraded us to a bigger room and even brought the new keys up to us so we didn't have to shlep back downstairs. Do you need an ATM? It's right next door. Do you need a Metro stop? It's right across the street. Do you need transportation to the airport? They offer a shuttle for 8 euros per person each way (taxi would cost 30 euro). Breakfast? They offer a pretty decent one for 10 euro or there are a ton of places nearby. Want to shop at El Corte Ingles? It's a 3 minute walk (by the way, check out the new Gourmet Experience on the 9th floor of El Corte Ingles). Want great restaurants? There are so many in the walk from Plaza Callao across the street to Plaza del Sol just minutes away. The room came with robes and slippers and so many nice toiletries. The wifi was free in the room, but unfortunately, the connection wasn't very good and kept kicking us out. We really were quite pleased with this hotel and would recommend it to others. Read more

Hotel Atlantico was a beautiful clean hotel within walking distance of the Prado, El Retiro, Plaza Mayor and many other must see attractions. We were close to 2 metro stops. In addition to its close proximity , when my friend and I arrived after a long transatlantic flight our room was ready and they had upgraded us to a better room. Grand Via corner Callao St. at Madrid center, no better location. We have been staying at this hotel for the last 5 years, every year is perfect. Staff fluent in English, Spanish, German, French and Portuguese. Rooms are perfect, breakfast is great, staff have the best recomendations for restaurants, shows, theater, tours, etc.

This hotel was great! The only negative is that the rooms were a bit small, but the hotel was beautiful and in an amazing location in close walking distance to many of the tourist sites in Madrid. Breakfast was quite good for only a few Euros, staff had good english skills, service was very good.
