Best Western Plus Hotel Das Tigra

Stayed for 4 nights and with the hotel's location everything was within walking distance. My only warning is that on the Saturday night the noise from the disco / bar opposite woke us up at 4 am. All other nights were peaceful.

Hotel was well located-just 15 mins walk from town centre,with main touristic attractions. Room was v clean. Breakfast v generous.Good value for money. The only issue was the parking- either 25 eur/day in a garrage or 2 eur/h in a short parking area. One has to come back every 2 h to change ticket.... Free parking at the weekend n after 10 pm

This hotel is very central to all of the main tourist attractions which can be accessed either on foot or very conveniently by the underground tube system. The hotel is particularly good for those wanting to shop, see the christmas markets and be close to the museums and galleries. Make sure you go to the Central Cafe. There is also a small and authentic […] Viennese coffee house, near Stephensplatz - approximately 3 streets before the church on the right hand side approaching the cathedral. Be prepared to be harranged by Mozart lookalikes, selling tickets for the opera. The hotel itself is very clean and the beds comfortable - the room is typically small, which is not unusual in Europe. The bathroom is a little undersized given that it is for two people. The hotel is a 4 star but you have to ask for tea and coffee facilities, which the management is happy to supply you with. The things that kept this from being great were: - the airconditioning system had a mind of its own - no matter what we set it on it re-set itself to 24 degrees which made the room too hot and stuffy for sleeping - the pillows looked good but went completely flat when laid on and wouldn't hold any shape. In comparison with other 4* hotels this hotel did not deserve its rating. The bathroom was not cleaned, the bins not emptied, the towels were thin and grey rather than white. The bed linen was not changed. I asked for a face towel and was given a thin grey, badly marked piece of cloth. There were not enough towels for the room. On the last day, for […] the first time ever, I complained to the hotel as I felt it was unfair to other far superior 3* hotels. I was told the laundry had spoilt their towels and they were having to employ temporary cleaning staff. This is a gorgeous hotel, spotlessly clean, and in a nice area in a central location in Vienna. The decor is lovely, and there are comfy chairs in the room. There were some comments about noise from a nearby bar, but we took a room on the sixth floor, and heard no noise whatsoever. What can i say it was simply the best at this Best Western, on arraival the staff were extremely helpful and our cases were taken away by the porter as we had arrived early. On coming back the cases were brought back to us, the rooms were exceptional clean and you couldnt fault them. when we asked for tea making facilites they were brought up within […] 30 mins. also more pillows the same. We were B&B and the breakfast was extremley good plenty of fresh bread etc and laods of scrambled egg bacon and sausages. i would definately recommnd this hotel, we love Vienna and will always come back to this hotel. it was centrally located some 8 mins walk from St Stephens catherdal. Arrived at the hotel on where we had a quick check in and told that our luggage would be taken to our room by a man. Even that I told him that I will take my case alone he took it from my hand. As he arrived at my room I wanted to take my case but he pushed himself in with my case. I told him 'Thanks but he just was not moving asking me in German if […] I am OK I told him that I am but he held his palm open to me to me to ask me for money. As I did not have coins I opened the door to him and he left cursing me in a foreign language The room number 336 on the third floor smelt very hard of mould so we opened both windows for the rest of the day. The bath tube was dirty looking as someone had just taking a bath. The next day the breakfast was very poor. The boiled eggs were already peeled and cut in half and put in a bowl so you can not take a whole one. The salami was full of fat coming out of it .The coffee cups were not cleaned We left after the breakfast and left our case at the hotel. We returned and the same porter brought the case just cursing me as soon as he saw me. I asked the receptionist where the bathroom is and the porter run after me on my way to the bathroom making me feel uncomfortableAfter about 5 minutes he came into the bathroom which is for one person only and pushed the door in order to come over me. Luckily I had bolted the door. As I retuned to the reception the porter came and shouted to me in German that I made the bathroom floor wet and that is not good. Read more

Assuming that you are going to Vienna to see this amazing city - vs. coming back and bragging about the hotel you stayed in - this was a wonderful hotel to crash in. Location is superb as it was minutes away -- on foot --from many amazing sights that the city center has to offer.
