"Romantic enviroment in a Baroque Hotel"
08/29/14 Απόστολος Κ Thessaloniki, Greece
We stayed there during our wedding voyage. This hotel is located at the very center of Vienna, in a street right out of the 19th century, quiet and beautiful. You can visit every important landmark and museum on foot or via the subway, which is really close. The rooms are decorated in the Baroque style, comfortable and with an air of luury. The breakfast is awesome (lots of different cheeses, meats, breads and jams). The staff are etremely helpfull. All in all, this hotel made our honeymoon a little more unique.
"Charming little hotel in a great location!"

We stayed here during our visit to Vienna and found it charming. The location was extremely convenient-just a couple of blocks from the Opera and pedestrian walking shopping street. The front desk staff was excellent and helped us with a variety of requests cheerfully and efficiently. Che breakfast was also good--nicely presented, and for our taste, generous in its offerings. The room was small but nice and the bed was comfortable. We would stay here again.
"Very nice hotel well situated in the old city of Vienna"

This hotel, the historic building dating from the 1600's is quite lovely and is located in very conveniently to the restaurants, cafes and museums in Vienna. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts and hospitable staff. There were several restaurants near the hotel, both on Annagasse and on the street behind the hotel, just go though the back door, turn right and you will find a reasonably priced good Italian hotel, less expensive than the Italian restaurant on Annagasse. We also enjoyed the fact that there was air conditioning as it was very hot when we stayed in August.
"A great treat in the center of Vienna"

We spent four nights in this most pleasant hotel with a perfect location, warm and friendly staff and charming decor. Another reviewer has detailed their stay so will not repeat. However, the manager went above and beyond prior to our visit by reserving for us our departure train tickets to Budapest. Centrally located, we walked to all the major points of interest and to dinner each night. Several blocks from the metro, the staff directed us how to use the u-bahn and we traveled easily to Schonbrunn and to the bus to Klosterneuberg. Located on a side street, but just by the major shopping pedestrian boulevards, this hotel could not be better quietly situated. Highly recommend.
"A suitable & convenient as it gets for its price range in Vienna"

This was our 3rd visit to Vienna in the past ten years. This time it was for one night on our way to south of France. Vienna is always pleasant for long strolls during the day or the evening. Last time we were here a few years ago we stayed at the nearby upscale Sacher hotel. This time it was for a single night and we opted to try the Roemishcher Kaiser as we were seeking a very conveniently located hotel, a more reasonable price range and a room that could accommodate a third bed. The selection was based on the reviews we read here. Interestingly the hotel had the same owners (family) since 1904 ... they introduced air condition in the late 1980s ... which is important in Vienna summers. For those who like "oldies are goldies" it is an added plus. As stated in previous reviews it is a nice historic building in a quite street (or rather an alley), very clean and safe that leads you in just a few minutes walk to the main pedestrian center of Vienna. Breakfast is nice and the free wifi worked perfectly well. I have no reservations about the place or returning back in a future visit, as long as I have no high expectations other than a good location, comfortable & clean room and bed to return to at night.
"Great hotel in a great location"

We recently stayed here 3 nights while visiting Vienna. The hotel is on a nice quiet street within walking distance to all the sights. They serve a very nice breakfast that you have the choice of eating in your room. Ate at an Italian restaurant a couple of doors down which was very good. Wish we had stayed a 4th night. The hotel is also within walking distance to the subway.
"Stunning Viennese style hotel in a fantastic location"

This is a small boutique hotel with around twenty rooms. We had Room 38 The Maria Theresia Suite on the fourth floor. It was a stunning room in cream and pink with beautiful paintings, a large chandelier (watch your head) and quality period furnishings. These are quite chunky but thankfully it is a large room. Large and very comfortable twin bed. The bathroom is very impressive with Versace tiles, a good size bath with a fixed shower over and monogrammed scented towels. Amenities are good including free wifi with a strong signal and a nespresso machine. They perform a turndown service which also replenishes the coffee supply and provides an evening chocolate. Why it was a Cadbury favourite instead of an Austrian chocolate we don't know. The hotel can also arrange airport transfers which are performed by a private transport company. This can be useful as the airport express train stops a fair way from the centre of Vienna. The service is priced only slightly more than the estimated taxi fare. The room had virtually no view as it was facing the internal courtyard but the advantage of this was that it was at the back of the hotel and therefore there was no noise. Location could not be beat. It would be hard to find a hotel that had a better central location. The Karlsplatz metro, the Hofburg, Stephansplatz and Stadt Park are all within a five to ten minute walk from the hotel as are numerous excellent restaurants. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before instead of a buffet making it difficult to pre-empt what you will feel like. Each menu selection comes on a tiered tray and includes eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, buns and condiments. Everything including the coffee is excellent. They make their own juice. We had pineapple, pear and ginger which had a lot more zing than we are used to at breakfast and we did crave some orange juice. Muesli, dried fruits and extra buns are also available. Staff are excellent and very helpful and courteous and speak very good English. In particular Manuela and the lady who heads up the kitchen. Two negatives that detracted from our stay and stopped us from considering five stars for this hotel. One was the air conditioning. Once they got it working it produced a thin whisper of air at top setting that could hardly be felt. We were there in early May and although the weather was not hot it did little to cool the room down. The second and bigger problem was the smoking. Our room was the only non smoking room on this floor. What was worse was that staff smoked in the reception area which is directly across from the open planned breakfast room. Coming from a non smoking background this was something we did not appreciate. Apart from this it was a wonderful stay.

This is the second time my wife and I stayed at this hotel. The location is great, only a 3 min walk to underground, trams and St Stephens. Staff is helpful, Breakfast is good, WIFI is ok. min walk to the Opera.
"Not quite 5 stars"

We stayed here 11 years ago and were happy to do so again. Its main advantage is its location, on a quiet pedestrianised street just off the main shopping area and close to both the underground and tram, although most of the main attractions are within easy walking distance. The staff, with one exception, were extremely helpful, and also efficient - eg, a loose electric socket, when reported, was mended immediately. Both our room and the bathroom were a good size and well-appointed. The breakfasts with plenty of variety were well presented on individual tiered stands, but we would really have preferred to make our own choices of cheeses and meats etc and also not to have to pre-order the previous evening. The male evening receptionist appeared disinterested in the guests, even when I cut and bruised a finger on the entrance door. A minor quibble was the placing of the room safe over the minibar fridge which meant that anything in the safe became really hot. More seriously, we had booked online a room with a shower cubicle, as opposed to a shower over a bath, as, with knee problems, it is for one of us difficult and dangerous to climb into a bath. However our room had only the bath with shower over and when we asked at reception to change rooms, the same disinterested receptionist told us that the hotel had no bathrooms with shower cubicles, not even for the disabled. Had we known this we would probably have booked elsewhere and, at the very least, Best Western and / or the hotel should have informed us when we made the booking, as we had made plain the reason for our request.
"A hidden gem near the Opera"

We have stayed at this hotel every January for the last six years and it's never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and know us by name. The breakfast is outstanding, the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. And just when you think it couldn't get any better, it did. They changed the format this year and you pre-order your choice the night before. You can customize it as you like and they will bring it to your room or you can have it in the dining room. We recommend the suite as the standard rooms, like in many European hotels are on the small side. From the Versace tiles in the bathroom to the chandeliers in the guest rooms, you are made to feel a part of the hotel's royal heritage without the stuffiness. The hotel is located near the Opera and off the Karntnerstrasse - a great central location.
