Best Western Desert Villa Inn - Barstow 34.88773, -116.99423

In a world where customer service seems to have all but disappeared it was a real treat to find this hotel in the desert. The clerk that checked us in was fantastic. He was not only courteous but he was very helpful in finding us a good meal late at night. The overall hotel was clean and reasonably maintained. Our room was way above average. The beds were comfortable, especially for a hotel in this price range. We had a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. The air unit did not make too much noise and kept the temperature well within range. The hot tub is small, but it was really hot. That was nice, considering it was probably 45 degrees outside. The bathroom was well maintained and very clean. I have a trip through California again in a couple months and will definetely stay at this place again.

Had the best sleep ever. The beds were so comfortable and was even impressed with the cleaning of the room afterwards

It was a great room with a fridge and microwave to have handy if staying for a length of time. The only downfall was the fact that the coffee maker was so small. No bigger but could be larger. The beds were fantastic to where we didn't want to get up. The shower was also very satisfying with the type shower head.

Clean room but a bit older. Right off the freeway with a basic breakfast. An average motel.

OK for one night stay

The rooms are very spacious, have a kitchenette, fridge microwave, and everything else you need. The rooms are clean. More then I expected if i look at the price

The service was great, the hotel room was cozy, and the location was convenient. They paid attention to detail and provided great amenities including a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker with coffee and tea, and TV. Also, the internet access was great which is important for people who need to go online for business and/or personal. I was here for a short overnight stay and thought it was a nice and comfortable place to stay.

The only complaint I have is the air conditioning is under the front curtains and they blow into them. :)

The hotel was very clean and quiet, in spite of having heavy occupancy on the night we stayed. I usually stay in high-end hotels, so I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was. The Continental Breakfast was decently stocked. Only two things could have used improvement: the TV reception (snowy cable connection)and the bathroom fan/light was very noisy.

The room was great. Nothing to complain about. Freeeeeeee Wifi was speedy and very easy to connect to and use. Unfortunately, the weekend we were there the pool was closed for maintenance (our luck.) But otherwise, a great stay.

Barstow, being a most unique and somewhat run-down City doesn't offer much in the realm of upscale lodging. Having said that, I would say among the limited choices that Barstow has to offer, this Best Western definitely gives the most bang for the buck. I've stayed here twice in the past several months, both times my room was immaculate. The housekeeping service is really on top of things. Decor is newly refurnished, the comforters and sheets are soft, they give you a multitude of pillows. Each room has a mini-fridge and microwave, very handy! The breakfast is complimentary, you can make a fresh waffle, there is a decent selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, and the normal cereals, milk, juices, and coffee. Would stay here again, I've stayed at other hotels in Barstow (Ramada and Quality Inn, both substandard) Biggest drawback to Best Western is: No elevator to second floor. Make sure you call and request first floor if you have difficulty with stairs.

Good breakfast. Typical motel, good for stoping over. Get in late. Leave after breakfast.

Clean, comfortable, good price. Seems harder to find while traveling in CA. I found that here. Very easy to find as well.

The room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly. To our surprise, the room was even equiped with microwave and refrigerator. They also provided deluxe continental breakfast. It is exceeded our expectation, really worth the money.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel for the price & in an out of the way place...The AC was quiet. The decor was warm and cozy down to the towel animals on the bed & in the bathroom...a very welcome surprise after a long trip to the hotel. The one small draw back was the hotel's closeness to the highway & a railroad...luckily tho you could hear it it was possible to ignore it..we had a room very close to the road so if you requested one further down in the complex it would be fine...the breakfast was more than your standard cold cereal and bagels...they had waffle mix already to pour in the waffle maker and fresh hardboiled eggs...we wish we had more time to spend at this hidden gem in the desert.

Clean, breakfast, close to I-40

OK Hotel, only negative "a little diffivult to gain acces to the pool due to too many people"

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet despite proximity to tracks and highways. Good air conditioning unit with quiet fan. Breakfast service is adequate, though fresh fruit (apples) only available at the front desk, not at the breakfast bar for some reason.

This was a very clean and well-run place. We were very happy to stay for the one night, however, the neighborhood was a little sketchy and not very centrally-located. But then again it's Barstow and maybe you don't exactly want to be where the action is!

Only thing Bad about our stay was that all of the carts for dirty bedding and towels etc. where sitting out under the stairs for everyone to see. Otherwise good stay

The room was clean and the hotel was quiet-the one complaint was a lack of light-all the lights appeared to be low wattage and not sufficient.

Shower was running really low so it wasn't very pleasant...everything else was great...

This hotel was a great find for our money. The rooms were nice and the continental breakfast was great. It was a little cold out so we did not go in the pool. The pool area looked nice and well kept. The staff was nice when we checked in and also at breakfast. It was at the front of a mobile home park that we were not sure about when we first booked it. When we arrived we found that it did not make the hotel area any busier or noiser.

Clean; efficient, courteous staff; No flat screen tv, but good internet; outstanding swimming indoor and outdoor open all year long. Lots of families with young children... crowded the pool for lap swimmers, so go early morning for a workout. Hallway noise from active children but whataya going to do bout that? Short walk to red rocks and various eateries.

Very mediocre hotel but very convenient location if you are passing through on your way elsewhere. There was no hot water in the evening but by morning it was OK. The room did not smell very good either but it was clean.

The doors do not shut and lock right. You have to shut the door a few times before it locks. Therefore, everyone is constantly slamming doors.

Hotel located just off the freeway & the freeway for home was right around the corner.... Location was perfect!!! I selected a room w/2 queen size beds to accomodate my spouse, myself & 3yr old daughter so was very surprised that the room was spacious. Another plus for the hotel was the bunny rabbit (made out of two hand towels) neatly placed on the bed which impressed the granddaughter. As for the continental breakfast...it was very continental, unlike other hotels we've stayed at...but it provided the nurishment we all needed for the road. I would definitely stay at this Best Western again...
