Best Western Plus Westbank - Harvey

Was very impressed with the hotel. The bar on site should be open on the weekends. The breakfast in the morning was decent. Staff very friendly. Location was very good. Right next to a Copelands, which is an excellent place to eat. Overall I was very happy that we ended up booking here. If ever in the area again, we would book again.

Hotel is been remodeled and is lovely. If you are planning a trip to the French Quarter, take the ferry over and save the driving and parking hassle. It is very convenient. Ferry ends at midnight, and may not be convenient for late-nighters. Would definitely stay here again.

Driving past downtown into the neighborhood we were a little skeptical as it looked slighitly sketchy but it's actually a very nice hotel and connected to Copeland's famous restuarant in NOLA; the pillows were bite sized and not the greatest but the rest of the stay was perfect they have this open corridor type style that overlooks the pool/jacuzzi […] and "bar" so it can get loud if there's any partying etc but we were fine. Just make sure there aren't any large events/partys when you go there and eat at Copelands literally connected to the hotel outside amazing food! Read more

This hotel was located about 8 miles from all of New Orleans excitement! It was a short trip just 2 days but I had no complaints. Maid service was excellent she supplied everything we needed and then some. I only wish I would have gotten her name.

Best Western Plus (Harvey, LA) was a great. I have enjoyed the serve with the hotel. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. I dont recommend the room service from (Copeland resturant). It took 40+ minutes for the food and they it was cold. I would have sent it back, but it was late and did not want to wait on them. It took three different calls to […] the resturants to get someone who knew what to do (order...confirm order...where was the food). I dont know if the breakfast section of the hotel is connected with the resturant, but it was very nice (the resturant and the breakfast section were seperate, but in best western). This hotel is a motel with walls. Its not very pleasing and the lobby actually closes from 11pm to 5am. The parking is horrible and there is a club attached which brings people who don't look too friendly. Did not feel safe at all! I would NEVER stay here again and I would not recommend you do either.

Construction workers staying at hotel hanging outin the breeze way smoking, dirty boots in front of room in the hall way, amount of noise in court yard makes it very hard to sleep. This hotel is in good condition, conveniently located to local golf courses and restaurants. The rooms are all arranged around a central courtyard with a pool and jacuzzi, which is convenient when using them but can be a bit noisy until the pool closes at 10pm. We had a great stay here. The only problem was on our first attempt to check in. We arrived around 9:00 am and were told that check-in was at 2:00. That was fine because we have a appointment till then. The main reason for stopping early was to ensure we got the type of hotel room we requested. From the pictures listed on the web page, it showed room […] with a couch and some without. I call the number on my fivestar card and talked to a nice young man. I told him I would stay at that hotel if I could get a room with the couch. It put me on hold and called to see. After a minute he told me it wouldn’t be a problem sop we booked. When I got there the first time on the day of check-in I told the clerk just what I explained above. “That we wanted a room with the couch.” She told us that all they had to do was provide a non-smoking room with a king size bed. Period! UI tried to discuss the issue and she would have none of it. I asked if she would make a note of it in her computer but she never confirmed that. Later, at 2:00 we checked in. Went the new clerk gave us our room keys, I asked and found out we didn’t get that type of room. In the hotel defense the new clerk quickly fix the problem and gave us what we wanted. The other clerk didn’t make a note so the second clerk didn’t know. It was a good thing we were there at 2:00 or we may not have got what we asked for. Read more

We only had one problem. I’ll explain. Before booking I called fivestar to get some information. The issue was the pictures of the rooms. There were some rooms with couches and some without. We were looking for one with (it was what I called about.) The fivestar REP called ahead and talked with someone from the hotel and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. […] With that information we booked. Check-in was a 2:00 but we arrived early (we had a function that was going to take most the day), but I wanted to make sure we got want we asked for we arrived early so there would be no issues. The lady at the desk told us about the check in time (which was fine) and I explained why we were there. She went on to tell me that there was no guarantee we would get a room like I was requesting. I explain how hotel.com had called ahead but she didn’t care. She said all they had to provide was a non-smoking room with a king size bed. I asked her to enter the info into the computer so we could request it at check in and never got an answer back that she would. I wanted to talk about this issue more but she wouldn’t. We went to our appointment and got back at 2:05. There was someone else working desk and she checked us in. Before he headed to the room, I asked if the room had a couch and found that it didn’t. The first lady had not put in anything. The new clerk was kind enough to get us into the right room and we were very grateful. The rest of the stay was perfect. I found the first lady to be rude and didn’t seem to care if we got what we requested or not. The rest of the staff was great. Read more

My husband and I had not been back to the New Orleans area for about 8 years. We were back in town for a friend's wedding. This hotel was located just down the street from our old neighborhood which was very convenient. I was very impressed. The courtyard was pretty and it was nice how all the room doors faced inward towards the courtyard. The lobby […] and rooms looked nicely maintained and new. The cleaning service personnel was available when you needed them and did a nice job with the room. Another plus was that they had a hot breakfast every morning in the cafe. Hotel was fairly clean, but it was the check in process that initially floored me. Twenty minutes to check in is ridiculous. She couldn't even find our reservation to begin with. Finally got our keys, went to check into the room, and we are overpowered by the smell of smoke. Went back, had to wait another 15 minutes in line to tell her we had requested […] a non smoking room. An eye roll and ten minutes later we were put in a room just one room over. Having the pool in the atrium was nice, until about 11pm. It was impossible to get the baby to sleep and the partied carried on despite a few calls to the front desk to see if they could do something. They had lovely tables set out by the pool, but when people are sitting out there at the bar at a table literally right in front of your door blowing smoke in your room, it gets frustrating. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. I initially booked 1 night at this hotel through your site, after realizing I needed extra nights I called the hotel directly a month in advance to inquire about extending my stay. I was assured it would not be a problem. I reminded the employee that my stay was during Mardi Gras […] weekend and I did not want any problems. She echoed the fact that there would be no issue because I would already be in the room. After driving 6 hours to the hotel I check in at night. The staff was very sharp and not courteous at all. I was informed a month earlier I would either need to inform the staff at check in or the next morning that I would be extending my stay. After calling the next morning to extend my stay I was informed that I would have to check out because the hotel was completely booked. I informed the staff that I was assured this would not happen. She called the manager and the manager did come from home and pretended to resolve the issue. Needless to say the manager told me to check out and she would call me after 3:00 to assist me. She called me back only to tell me she apologized and could not help me. Due to other obligations on that Sunday I had to remain in the city. I managed to find a room checking in on Sunday but had to spend the night along with my guests in my car because there was no available hotel on Sat. anywhere in the area, not to mention my room Sunday cost me 3 times the amount of this stay.. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had traveling...and I would recommend never taking the word of a hotel without written or printed confirmation. Read more
