Almost impossible to find our way in...no markers...no light..we made 3 attempts and once ended back on highway. In the morning we were so glad we didn't make a costly right turn...into the lake!!! It was a very old room...hairs in the bed and a nightmarish heater ... sooo loud and it blew the drapes straight up in the air exposing the room to passers […] by. This was the closest we could get to Ann Arbor on Parents Weekend. This is an older hotel. The room had been upgraded very nicely. Big vanity top, which I love. The room had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. I don't know how they can get rid of that. While updating of the rooms and furnishings were adequate, the bathrooms are in need of updating and did not have any handicap amenities like hand railings. Also no source of heat for the bathrooms as well. Was much more convenient to U of Michigan than we anticipated since we were visiting the school on parents weekend. Carpets and lounge chair were stained! The sheer curtain was pulled down on the end, so we had to keep main curtain closed all the time! Large cob webs in corners of window! As a young person, I have cleaned rooms! I do not try to find fault,but evident dirt does need to be taken care of! Biggest complaint...I have a bad injury to one foot and emailed […] and called several times to get a room that we could park right in front of and they promised it to me! The air conditioning was leaking and the carpet was all wet. I called the front desk when we walked into the wet carpet and all they said is they will tell the manager. The carpet was soaking wet the entire stay! The breakfast was understaffed and there was nothing ready. No coffe at 8am really?

This hotel was a great experience. They are redoing all the rooms and my room was great. The sauna wasnt so good and the pool was a little cold but that was my only complaint.

I picked this hotel because I was going to a funeral with a group of family members that needed a meeting place to gather. The Best Western of Whitmore Lake fails this description on almost every level. Good points: Clean rooms. The shower worked. An okay breakfast was served in the morning. Free wi-fi. Bad points: […] Older concrete block motel is just off the freeway. The thin walls allow one to hear your neighbors every noise. Numerous people hanging out at the hotel. One reading lamp between the two beds. Our first night's sleep was disturbed by our very noisy neighbors. The second night we drove up and found a number of loud individuals hanging out both in front and inside the hotel. We decided to find another place to stay. We were able to use the hotel's excellent wi-fi connection to book a clean, comfortable, quiet room down the freeway at another hotel in Ann Arbor. Best Western needs to review this hotel as a chain member. Read more

I found the hotel as it was described by the majority of the previous comments when I booked it. It is not the classiest hotel I've been in, but it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was not unreasonable.
