"Great place to stay for business travel"
It was very nice and most important the bed was comfortable. As a business professional who travels a great deal I found this hotel really nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"just one night stay"
we only stayed one night. pool was under construction, and workout room advertised looked like it was being used for storage. breakfast was good. room was comfy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I were just traveling through the area and wanted to check out Lake Lopez and Arroyo Grande. This hotel was nicely located, reasonable and clean. It was just what we needed. Thank you.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pleasant stay. Cost was super. Clean and great location. easy freeway access.Genuine Expedia guest review
Not as good overall as most other Best Westerns. They have no swimming pool or hot tub available to guests. It is locked, the deck is ripped up and they aren't even moving forward fixing it. They have no fitness center. On Casa Grande's website they lie about both of these things. To be fair, they let you use the gym next door but it is a 300 yard […] walk to a low quality experience (small, sweaty with poor facilities and rude members). The breakfast is the second poorest I've seen in recent years and they close it kind of early (9:30am). Hard boiled egg is the sole protein (they looked good though: pre-peeled and not overcooked). Cellophane packaged mini muffins. Choice of 3 cold cereals: raisin bran, fruit loops and corn flakes. Waffles looked good but I'm not into simple carbs. Coffee OK. Only 1 kind of tea (black). Room was pretty good. Quiet, with double lavatory vanity, large walkin shower (no tub!), microwave, refrigerator and good TV. Somewhat dated looking furniture and carpet (OK condition though). There is a closed restaurant facility on site. They are looking for someone to lease it but in the meantime, it is useless. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We rented online but when we got there they were bookedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel has specious rooms we ever saw, great free breakfast, very helpful stuff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Location is just minuets away from Pismo Beach and Avila Beach. Our room was a great value for the price, nothing fancy. And the free continental breakfast is second to none. Make your own waffles, toast, bagels, and many other choices to choose from, was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NIce motel; overpriced"
NIce, well kept motel. Staff appropriate. Rooms clean and nicely furnished. Continental breakfast modest. Pool not available/out of service. Nice property, but over-priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good place to crash only, that's it. The pool and the laundry was non operational which upsets me since I've been on the road for days already.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel facility is a little dated but it is kept clean, well located for Pismo and Santa Maria visits, and kept clean. Staff was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
Casa Grande had a 4 star rating, yet was reasonably priced, and was close to our destination of Avila Beach. What a gem we found! Such a beautiful western-themed inn, with original art decorating the grand lobby. We were delighted that our complimentary breakfast was served upstairs in this main building. Breakfast was quite generous, with waffle machines […] and many choices in fare. A real added bonus was when the room we were given was still booked, Mohan the desk clerk upgraded us to a lovely poolside suite! He gave us coupons for nearby eateries, and we ate at the one within a very short walking distance, The Quarterdeck, which had delicious food at already reasonable prices. All the staff at the inn were friendly and courteous. We will stay here again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
OK for one night, but I'd prefer something more up-to-date for a longer stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price"
We booked this hotel on the fly as we were traveling across california and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was super nice and helpful. The lobby has a beautiful spanish decor and the buildings resemble a california mission. There is plenty of parking, the room was clean and stocked full of towels and really really big. Plenty of space and a kitchen […] area all for the price of a regular room. A lovely little garden with grass and roses and a bridge and fountain as well. Would stay here again! Located right off the highway and across the street from a terrific steak house. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Outlets/shopping. Not close to beach"
I like this hotel. Clean, friendly, responsibly priced (especially in the off-season). Peak season is pretty costly, but every hotel in the area is. Reasonably compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was good, offers waffles, bagels, cereal, etc. Room is clean. Unfortunately, the pool and jacuzzi was down. But didn't affect us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel, worst service ever experienced."
The shower area features a dangerously high metal railing (4"+) that keeps the water inside, a design flaw from the old days - totally forgivable. What's not forgivable is the the attitude displayed by the staff upon finding out my father stubbed his toe from it and was bleeding. At a time when all I wanted was "We are sorry our old hotel caused an […] inconvenience" and some bandages, I got the response that perhaps my father (Who runs and lift weights every other day) was just not careful enough. To add insult to injury (literally), the staff also refuse to acknowledge that this is even an issue for their hotel (as if out of some misguided fear of being fired for letting the hotel admit fault in a mythical lawsuit) and had the audacity to threaten us with an ambulance call for a stubbed toe. This, ladies and gentlemen, is not how you handle a situation that can be defused with a single sentence apology. In the end, all we got was some bandages (Can't even keep over-night because they fear someone else might get injured, the irony was appalling), disinfectant, and a bottle of expired hydrogen peroxide. The next morning, even a fake gesture in the form of a discount was out of the question when the staff said it's not possible because we booked though Hotels.com (Which I found out later can be easily done). To end, if any other hotel abuses the Best Western brand like this one then I'm afraid my opinion of the chain has nowhere to go but down. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Nice Hotel"
The room was clean. The staff was helpful and breakfast was wonderful. The pool was being remodeled. The hotel was easy to find and Pismo Beach was just a couple miles away. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great get away."
It was a great stay. Staff was hospitable. Only bad thing was pool area was being retiled and so our son couldn't use it. Otherwise, we will consider it on another trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pool and Laundry Down"
All in all a good stay. Clean room, although the carpets are a bit stained. Toilet was loose, but the staff was informed about it - things happen. The staff was friendly and helpful - and good with kids. The big thing was after I had prepaid a reservation, I was informed when I called the hotel to do a pre-check that not only the pool was down, but […] the laundry facilities as well. Not cool. I booked through a third party, so I take my chances like that I guess, but there should be a way for the hotel to notify the 3rd party booking agents when a major issue arrises before a booking occurs. Yes, I would stay there again, but I would check in with the hotel directly before I booked it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Prob one of the best motels I have ever had."

We will stay here again, no questions asked. The rooms are clean, large, and the beds are comfortable. Central location to whatever you want to do, and really easy to get on and off the 101.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was average and we might have liked it more if their pool renovation was done like they said it would be. Our kids were looking forward to the pool and they said their renovation would be done by the time we came but it wasn't.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place for one night stay"
Check in was very easy and the manager was great at explaining where the room was and the breakfast. Remote did not work for changing channels but that wasn't too bad a problem. Room was clean and neat and quiet so no complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is a really nice hotel and I have a lot of fun here. By the way it is a really nice small town.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location / Guest Room Tired"
Over the years we have stayed at this property many times, but it has been 5 years since our last stay. They are remodeling the pool area and the grounds are in good shape. This was the first time we did not book our room directly from the hotel. I included a request for one of the rooms overlooking the pool in my reservation. Upon our arrival, I was […] told we booked our rooms through a third-party site, got a very good rate and the room we requested was more expensive. No offer to upgrade. However, as I was walking away, I was told the room type we requested was $60/night more. We received a ground-floor room with the front door facing the center parking area. This room was smaller than other rooms we had stayed in. Each night the parking area was noisy with late arrivals and conversations - really, it sounded like they were in our room. The room overall was clean - some spots on the carpet and it could benefit from a good cleaning. The bedside furniture was old and scratched. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Left my home comforts and missed them"
Well, I wish I could give it a better rating. First the pool was non-op and this was disappointing. The buildings are in good shape and not run down looking, but as we entered the non-smoking room it smelled heavy of cigarette smoke. I would suggest to owner to pull the old carpets out before calling it a non-smoking room. I believe they are in the […] process of remodeling the BW, if not I will not be going back. Great potential upon the finishing of ALL remodeling. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice weekend stay"
My family and I had a nice weekend stay. From the moment we checked in, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. "Nice Outside, Tired Inside"
Not as nice as most of the Best Westerns we have stayed at in California. The exterior and lobby looked great. The room was in need of updating. Mold in the shower, paint chipped on door jams/doors/etc., light burnt out, dead bugs on shower floor, so lots of little things, no big things. Bed was okay, parking lot cramped. I would not stay here again, […] too many other good choices. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good experience & good value for the moneyI may suggest to add one extra conforter in the room, for the person sensitive to cold.Genuine Expedia guest review
i should have gone right back to the front desk and ask for another room but I didn't. It was very musty and I thought putting the AC on would solve the problem. It did not. I don't know if they just cleaned the carpet or what but very musty odor. Room was spacious. Shower pressure was poor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"best hotel in a long time"
It was great overall. Very large and extremely clean room, good mattresses, absolutely lovely interior and stunning pool area. It was very quiet and we slept so well, great breakfast in the morning with inside and outside seating. Would have stayed longer and will definitely be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel needs to be renovated and cleaned"
The location was convenient to Pismo/SLO, however the hotel was really run down. At first glance, the lobby was really nice, and the pool was decent. Unfortunately I didn't notice that the pool was closed for renovation during our stay. That said, I didn't see any renovations happening in the pool, except for a bit of torn up concrete in what looked […] to be a decorative fountain area at the corner of the pool. Our room was huge, and the bedding was nice and clean. Unfortunately, one of the sinks in the double sink bathroom was completely clogged, the shower doors were rickety, and the most disturbing was that after letting my 13 month old son crawl around on the carpet to play for just a few minutes his knees and feet turned black with dirt. I showed a photo of this to the manager upon check out, and all I was told was "they would let their housekeeper know". Hm, not satisfactory. We won't stay here again. My only complaint is that this place uses a very strong-smelling disinfectant in their rooms. It was only on the night after I left, when I could still smell the scent on my pajamas, that I realized that it was the same horrid odor I used to smell when I visited a nursing home! On the positive side, they upgraded me (at no charge) one level because […] they had run out of the normal rooms with the king bed I'd requested. But that smell.... "No Sleep For The Weary"
This hotel has superior room layout, a quiet environment, and an adequate breakfast offering. The staff is courteous and efficient, and the room is clean and well appointed. So why are we so disappointed with The Casa Grande? Simple: If the bed mattress is so bad that you can't sleep, that you wake up in pain, then all other site features are unimportant. Hotel was very clean. Service was great. Would have been excellent but pool was out of service due to remodeling.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Casa Grande Inn is in the midst of remodeling the pool spa and gym, so they weren't available at this time but we enjoyed the beautiful well manicured grounds and large room with fresh duvet covers, no dirty comforters here. The rooms had a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Breakfast was included and quite a variety of fruits cereal […] muffins, toast and even a waffle maker! Nice clean room, good location, friendly people serving us. Close to beach, golf and old town for shopping and eating. Also close to Pismo beach. Was a nice 2 days on our way home from napa.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good service but pool was out of order"
Friendly and helpful staff. Was updated to a two room suite which was appreciated. Rooms were clean but out of date. Hotel could use a refurbish.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall this hotel is decent but it could have been better. I am not talking about the stray hair on the bathroom floor or the slow draining tub. What i mean is this, in the world of hotels where there are so many to choose from there has to be something that sets them apart other than price, cleanliness, service or location. This hotel could have done […] something to set it apart from all the other midpriced, average hotels. Not talking about anything crazy here that would increase rates but just something different. Since the decor is Mexican how about a Margarita Happy Hour in the lobby or complimentary chips and salsa in the rooms or a Mexican continental breakfast instead of the usual fare...just askin for somthing a little different.
