"Pay a little extra and stay in Sedona"
Wifi did not work. Bathtub faucet was broken. Towels and bed linen were old and worn. The "shortcut" to Sedona mentioned was actually a dirt road only accessible to 4 wheel drives. So all in all a disappointment. The staff was nice though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap but no frills"
Even though it says wifi on the listing, wifi is only available in the lobby which is open during regular business hours. There is a fireplace in the room, but it is changed up. Didn't even have a wine bottle opener we could borrow. Clean place and the staff was nice, but nothing extra.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We won't stay there again. The room wasn't clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad for the money"
Room wasn't bad at all. No makor amenities to speak of, but we werent looking for anything fancy. Everything was clean, although the bathroom door was broken. Would have been nice to know that they don't have the fireplaces ready to go until nov 1 before booking. The guy who checked us in was really nice. Other than that, didn't interact with the staff […] at all. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Only as a LAST resort"
We only stayed here because we were passing through, it was late and we wanted to access the internet in between destinations. Of course after we checked in they informed us there wasn't actually any internet because "raccoons chewed through the lines". The rooms were disgusting and we ended up sleeping on top of the covers. The area is terrible and […] there was nothing to do or eat, and the location as a whole seems shady... Nothing in the room seemed to work. I'm not sure how they stay in business Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The bed was very uncomfortable."
There was a horrible smell in the room & the bathroom floor & baseboards were very dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value, friendly staff."
Convenient location, friendly, personable staff & Acceptable cleanliness of the rooms. A good value for what I paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an older motel/facility. Does need upgrading, but a very comfy place. Wish I would have had time to actually stay in and use the fireplace. I'm thinking of renting again for the winter and enjoy the beautiful area with the snow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable, But Far"
Hotel staff was polite and helpful; bed was very comfortable and amenities were just fine for the price. However, the distances to nearby attractions on the website are "as the crow flies" and the actual driving distance is much more, as the highways do not directly connect (this was in the fine print on the website, but I didn't see it until trying […] to puzzle out the discrepancies with actual miles). This created some issues with our trip plans to the Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel in the Pines"
We wanted to stay somewhere a little quieter than Flagstaff and cheaper; Motel in the Pines was the perfect place for this. Not expecting much made our stay enjoyable. The Manager was very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was that I thought there was free wi-fi in the room, but there wasn't.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very quiet place to be"
It was definitely a motel in the Pines. I would stay there again. It wasn't a HOTEL.., We all remember what a motel is. You just take a few things to make yourself More comfortable. I thank the Staff. And nice picnic area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent, inexpensive place to stay"
We drove up from Mesa to stay overnight before going to Slide Rock Park. It was perfect for that. It is an older motel with older decor. The front desk was very friendly and the room was clean, just old. It was quiet and although very, very secluded...we felt pretty safe. fyi, the local area closes down very early. Not a lot to access after 10pm. (i.e. […] stores, gas, food) Would stay again next summer Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This was a clean place with a clean bed to sleep. We enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Desperately needs a deep cleaning"
Okay, where do I begin? It looked like my grandmothers house that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in two years. The shower, toilet, sinks, sheets, etc were clean, but there were stains all over the chairs, and everything else had a layer of crud on it like it had never been touched. They need to hire a cleaning staff because whatever family member is […] taking care of the cleaning is incompetent. Time to bust out the bleach and clean, people! The cabin-like, pine forest atmosphere of the property is so nice, it's a shame that it was spoiled by a filthy room! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I was told this room would have a fridge and it would be a smoking room. It was neither, although it sure smelt like a smoking room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for the price"
Just a last minute getaway. We didn't spend much time in our room. Bathroom was a little dingy and there was ONE hair in the shower, which always freaks me out! Cleanliness should ALWAYS be #1 priority for any hotel! The hotel staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This place is horrible"
The hotel looks like it came straight out of the past--possibly the 60s. Also, the best were like rocks and the air conditioner didn't work so we were miserable throughout the night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location, nice layout, poor upkeep."
Very nice setting but poorly maintained. Staff's explanation was that the motel was old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Within walking distance of a nice little restauran"
Good value for the money. Relatively quiet being so close to the freeway. Bathroom door needs to be replaced and maybe some dusting around the floorboards. The blankets were stained - needed washing perhaps; otherwise it was quite comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
toooooooo bad :((Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were there to golf and from the other reviews, didn't expect much. Motel was as we expected. Bathroom needs updating as the fixtures were old, grimmy. Hotel staff were very nice though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for the price"
With the cheapest hotel in the area being $80+ this was a great deal at $45...It was clean enough...Just an older hotel where the basic cleaning is done..Don't look in the corners though. If you are used to high end hotels stay away but for a good cheap clean place to lay your head, you cant beat it..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok hotel but had lot of negative points"
Wifi didn't work properly, bathroom door did not shut, door was broken, mattress was burnt. Not cheap enough to be this quality.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It's the only motel in Mund's Park so the location is the only plus. Doors are falling off bathrooms, dust piles up in the rooms. Linens are clean, that's another plus I guess. Could be a really nice place with better management. Only stay there if you have the stomach for poor accommodations. Also the online reservations do not always equate with availability […] of rooms - I would call. We did not get the rooms we reserved. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Motel needs some updating and some repairs"
We chose this motel because it was close to an attraction we were visiting the next day and it was reasonably priced. It is a very old motel. The air conditioner is a wall unit in towards the back of the room, so it doesn't cool the room very well. Also, our air conditioner did not work, and we didn't know this until we went to bed. It would not start […] up on its own. You had to turn it off and then turn it back on for it to blow cold air. Then, in the middle of the night, turning it off and on wouldn't even work. We left the window open, but the room was VERY WARM all night. The beds were somewhat hard and not very comfortable. It was clean and the staff was extremely friendly, but the motel needs some modernizing, especially the air conditioners. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The perfect place to stay if you're going to be in Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon area. While the drive is about 30mins it's definitely worth it. The owner/manager was really welcoming and friendly and the hotel was in very good condition. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which was all we really needed after long days at slide rock and hiking. The […] cable in the room was fully functional, contrary to other reviews I read, but we didn't find a way to connect to wifi (though we didn't try very hard, because what do you need with wifi when you're on vacation?). The motel is right across the street from a little diner and a gas station which was really convenient for grabbing things before we headed out and when we got back. Overall I would recommend The Hotel in the Pines! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a very pleasant staff, however, the overall hotel left an awful lot to be desired. The bed was okay with good mattress, however, the bathroom sink was questionable with an unusual faucet, but closure for a shower was too tight to get in and out. No mats on the floor in the bathroom. Off the small patio was discarded carpet. Just not a good location […] for a leisurely stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Simplicity in the pines!"
If you are looking for simplicity in the woods, then this is your place. Quiet and comfortable and out of the way. No hubbub of the city but conveniently located, nestled in the pines. The staff, consisting of a husband and wife, were attentive to needs and were personable and knowledgeable of the area. If you are looking for convenience without resort/spa […] luxuries... you know, a motel in the pines... (after all, you didn't go to Arizona to sit inside)... then take a look here. Response by Motel In The Pines We enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your comments. We look forward to your next visit.
"Clean - yet near highway"
The hotel was very near the highway - but I could not hear it while the door was closed. The room was clean. The room was not cleaned while there for 3 nights, but I did not put out the sign either. Sometimes I prefer it that way, so that was fine with me. The owner was very nice and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"nothing for romantic trips or family vacation"
the bed was good but I found old hair pins on the carpet, the bathroom was not very comfortable-rusty, kitchenette was a little oldGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Motel In The Pines We enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to your next.
Great place to sleep at night. Hotel does not have all the modern updates, no Wi-Fi , cable channels are limited. towels and linens are not exchanged everyday unless you request it. Air conditioner is in strange place and in summer will not cool whole room adequately. My 2 boys enjoyed it, ages 7 and 10.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad but misrepresented"
The motel is easy to find but a bit run down. Room was relatively clean. Towels looked like they had been in the room awhile and to lotion left at sink was clearly used already. Saturday morning before checkout work began on the room next door and workers were welding on the balcony so we chose to have out coffee inside. Was relatively inexpensive but […] doubt I will stay again. Disappointing :( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel located next to the freeway"
Had a fireplace that I was unable to use. The television did not work and the office was close making it impossible to obtain towels.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Close to Flagstaff"
On graduation weekend we couldn't get anything under 120.00 a night. This motel work just fine for a place to sleep after a long day. Nice rooms and the staff were helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable motel near the road"
Comfortable, standard motel near the road. The friendly hostess. Clean air, a wonderful pine forest. Good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good cheap place to stay the night"
Not as close to slide rock as we expected or Sedona. But adequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Motel In The Pines It is a short drive on Schnebly Hill Rd. which is a forestry road. The 89A is a very scenic route and goes right to slide rock park and Oak creek Canyon then into Sedona. We hope to see you again.
Older decor - (70's? 80's?), rooms are small, and I had trouble finding mine. (Numbering system and hotel layout was confusing). There was only 1 working outlet in the room that was not completely occupied by other devices. (It was in the bathroom) so work/laptop plug in was about out. This is a vacation hotel, not a business stop over. Staff were extremely […] friendly. I was disappointed that there was no Iron, no Coffee maker in the room. Satellite TV worked 'OK' but kept going in and out. WiFi was available, and I wasn't able to access it. The beds were comfortable though and the room served my primary purpose - sleep. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for the money"
This was perfect of what we did. Grand Canyon one day with a stop at Beaver Street Brew Pub for dinner and the next day took 89A down to Sedona. Great price for just needing a place to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for a tired traveller"
This is a very cute Motel that is situated just off Rte 17 in Munds Park. The room was clean - and the staff were exceedingly pleasant. This is a great stop over for a long drive but there are no close attractions - so not really a destination site. The only issue I had was the Internet. Although I could connect to the wireless - I was never able […] to browse the net and this may be important if you are traveling for business like I am - also, there are no close Internet cafes or wifi hot spots nearby to compensate. Overall a little dated - but for the price - a fantastic bargain. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good for the price"
This is a nice place to stay. Would not pay more than the 50.00 per night. Beds are comfy and room was fairly clean. Some maintenance work is needed on the place (example: shower faucet was off) but over all it was a pleasant experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great and inexpensive"
This really inexpensive hotel was great. I got in quite late, but the owner came out and was super helpful, making sure I got in my room okay. This hotel is not fancy, but basic is always good. It was right off the highway and the owner was again really nice and helpful in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"comfortable bed but not well maintained"
Door was stuck closed, we had to struggle to get in. Bathroom ceiling was leaking from the upstairs room. The old tube tv had horrible faded coloring and the kitchen was mangy. Overall it's not expensive but it needs maintenance. ..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will not be returning"
When we arrived, it took 15 minutes of ringing the front desk bell and knocking on the trailer door next to the hotel before anyone would come check us in. The room itself was not bad, but the handle on the shower was detached and just laying on the side of the tub. The advertisement promised wifi - nonexistent. I lost two days' work because I couldn't […] connect to anything at all. The beds were not made the next day, and the coffee wasn't restocked. Lovely area - deeply disappointing stay.
