did not provide the baby crib which they promise for that room. we could not stay that room without the baby crib.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not as advertised"
There was no ice machines in each of the buildings. the parking areas were not very safe because if your car rolled back there was nothing to stop it from rolling into the road. only had maid service one day. Also there was no bath mat in the tub to keep someone from slipping. When we checked in there was no one in the office so we had to wait for someone […] to show up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wouldn't waste my money, stay in Flagstaff!"
The staff was nice, bed was uncomfortable, I heard every single step the people above us would take the floors sounded like they were gonna fall through. The sheets on both beds had stains, the shower curtain had small hairs like the people before use shaved and left it on the shower curtain. Also I found 2 spiders in the bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy access to I-17"
This place needs some serious updating. Room very visually unappealing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was better than expected for the price. New sheets and comforters. TV, microwave and fridge worked. Nice private view from balcony. Convenient location between Sedona and Flagstaff.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Overall worth it"
I had mixed feelings after reading the reviews we got there and it was actually pretty cozy. Has a cabin feel to it. FYI if your expecting a 4 star resort in munds park at a motel your mental. The bedding was clean and beds appeared to be almost new. Room itself was a bit tattered but like I said it has a cabin feel but you have things like a tv AC […] heater etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet and rustic"
It was a quiet getaway. The room was somewhat dirty. The toilet had a loose handle that you had to jiggle. The wife did not work at all. Not much in that small town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hard to turn into."
The front desk couldn't find my reservation. Very messy desk. Lady complained about not being able to do computer things. Room had a bathroom window that was stuck open. Almost broke it closing it! Shower was too dirty to use. Almost left.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A cute rustic quiet place"
Service was wonderful from the owners. The rooms are old and shabby but it was clean, and we didn't care that it wasn't the ritz. We wanted to stay somewhere close enough to bell rock but not in the center of it all. Quiet and cozy. Room had all we needed. The kids loved it. We all enjoyed it. Anyone who leaves a bad review isn't thinking with the big […] picture. Its a cheap stay on a good side of town with great service from the sweet family. You can't go wrong with this place unless you're a snob and want to be in a box of pretensions. I will definitely come again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Motel in the Pines"
requested 3 kitchenettes and 2 cribs, good thing I called because they had no cribs and when we got there, one kitchenette was not working. We were "upgraded" to a balcony, don't understand where the upgrade came in. Spider webs in all 3 room at windows, faucets leak all the time, carpet was dirty with a layer of dust, shower rod in my room fell off […] the wall, 1 burner in our kitchen didn't work at all, (try cooking bacon & eggs for 7 on 1 burner, not easy), and I swear there was a herd of elephants in the room above mine. On the + side, the motel is in the Pines. Oh, if you stay anyway, watch for the correct driveway entrance, because everyone that went with us went up the 1st driveway that was closest to the motel sign and as soon as we made the turn on to it, there is a sign posted saying not for the motel. You can't see this sign from the street. When we go to Oak Creek Canyon or Sedona or Flagstaff again, we won't be staying at this motel. As a matter of fact, I will probably give in and camp in my husbands stinky canvas tent and be happier. But the price was nice so now it is up to you to make a choice. We only stayed one night. We were made at home by the friendly staff. Would recommend people to stay here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If you need to get away..."
This place was not close (walking distance) to much more than one diner and gas station. If you want to actually see sights and have a variety of eateries this isn't the place. The walls are paper thin and anything going on in the next room is heard. The one thing we did enjoy was the fireplace and firewood available just outside on the balcony.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet Hotel in the pines"
Room was nice a little old and dated but clean and comfortable. The hotel's location was just off the freeway and it was very quiet and country feeling. Owners were very accommodating and helpful they were ready for us when we arrived. It's not a five-star hotel but it is a very good place to spend the night on the road.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A good place to avoid sedona"
As a Tucson native - I've been to Sedona too many times, and hey - now days it's a bit too touristy for my tastes. However - the whole area around there is some fantastic wilderness. This Motel is a great base of operations for adventure in the area. It's not the Ritz! It nicer then many places in Bisbee I've stayed though. I was in the new wing and […] it was fine, no bugs, clean sheets, new beds. It's also surprisingly quiet for being so close to the highway, munds park this time of year is totally dead and all the campsites in the area don't open for a month or so. I plan on coming back. Where else can you camp out for a while then find a hotel that will ease you back into society instead of pushing it in your face. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Door for bathroom was split in half, shower rails fell off shower. No advertised amenities like coffee. No soda machine or snack machines. No working wi fi. Very loud guest and when called desk about it was told they were paying guest also and even though it was 1am they could be as loud as they wanted.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good last mintue getaway"
This was a good choice for a last minute trip. Because of the spring break time frame other places in the area were way over priced. Close enough to Flagstaff to enjoy the amenities but in a quiet place to have a romantic weekend. Enjoyed the fireplace and balcony of the King bed suite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Owners were very polite and accomodating. Made our stay there even more pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"not a 5 star hotel but I will return again"
Friend and I stayed here as a "get away." Price can't be beat. Location right off the freeway was great for running to Flagstaff (20 mins) but not being right in the middle of a city (we wanted to relax and hide). If you had school age kids this would be great for letting them run around outside, if you are (like me) not overly protective and like the […] idea of them just tromping around in trees and dirt (they have a few things for their daughter that kids can play on too). Will definitely return. Our room could have used a bit of work in the bathroom, and the guy who cleans should pay a little more attention to corners etc but the room was for the most part clean, neat, and tidy. There's a restaurant across the street with awesome breakfast, don't know about the rest of their food but it is fantastically clean too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute Motel in the Pines"
This is a super cute motel in the pines. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. While this motel is very affordable, the room and beds felt very comfortable and pleasing. I have paid more and gotten lower quality at other motels. For the price, I highly recommend this motel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for the price"
Hotel is outdated but service was great and it's located in a beautiful setting with immediate access from I-17. I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We got there late (around 1am) but we didn't think it was a problem as the listing said it had a 24hr front desk. Needless to say it wasn't. You had to use a phone located on the side of the building to call the owner to check-in. When he got to the front desk he made a smart comment "don't you know most people are sleeping at this time at night". When […] we went inside to actually check-in he hadn't read all the paper work and had only reserved 1 room. So we had problems there. The room itself wasn't bad but there was literally no walking room. The 1st bed is almost to the front wall with the other a foot away next to the back wall. We had problems fitting our suitcases from the front door to the shower area it was that cramped. The view was nice but that was about it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You Get What You Pay For"
We were looking for an affordable place to stay, close to Flagstaff on a holiday weekend & we found it. The Manager was very helpful, the motel was easy to find and the room was a basic room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend in the Pines"
Overall not a bad room for the price, just spider webs in window seals. The room was good size, and beds were not bad. If it had internet service it would of be GREAT, but remember to bring your own....:) Fridge and two burner stove was a nice thing. Looked like a mini apartment:)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Rustic and simple"
Older place. Few amenities but great for a quiet getaway! Beautiful view from the patio, having coffee in the morning. I really enjoyed the pillows, and the quick 15 minutes into Flagstaff made dinner easy. I slept like a log, and also enjoyed the simple nature of the experience. Very basic, but I would go back very soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A few scares, but a caring staff"
There were a few disappointing things about our stay-- first, we paid for a king room with a fireplace, but one was already rented out and the other had a fireplace malfunction so it wasn't available. The owner was very kind and said she would call expedia the next day for a refund, though I haven't heard anything back yet. Secondly, the back door was […] unlocked when we came in, and the window to the bathroom didn't have a lock on it at all-- the scare factor was amplified by a man who approached my partner and I in the parking lot after 10 PM. He could have genuinely needed help, but we were pretty spooked. On the bright side though, the owner came out and escorted us inside, apologized for the man, and then watched us safely to our rooms. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned in a while as I counted 13 hairs stuck to the side of the shower. The toilet had a sanitation seal on it, but there was urine and hair on the seat. Really, this room was what we expected for the price. Can't complain much when you pay so little. KUDOS to the owners though for the customer service. I can overlook the details if I feel good about the people running things. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Motel In The Pines Experience -- One Night Stay"
Excellent lighting (lamps). Very decent but a bit older furniture, television, décor & amenities. The showerhead/tub mechanism that converts the flow from the tub faucet to the tub was totally broken. The amenities were very basic but my husband weren't bothered by it. We were simply grateful there was the basics provided & it's a warm, cozy motel room! […] The heater was awesome & powerful. I would definitely rent again. GREAT PRICE! And convenient location. "Not the Burg el Arab"
but what would one expect for $27? We were greeted graciously on a snowy night and our room was exactly as expected. The bed was very comfortable, the heater took a moment to find as it was tucked under the table and there was no regulator, so it was full on or full off. The TV worked. We slept, we woke up to 3 inches of snow and we drove to our destination, […] exactly as planned. "Lovely rustic wood fireplace the best!"
Quaint quiet motel off hwy 17 proved to be a nice quiet get-away from the busyness of Flagstaff. Don't expect the luxuries of a Fairmont or Hilton! A modest room, but this was all we needed for quiet times. The unique rustic wood fireplace was our highlight of staying here and they supply the wood too! Definitely needs some renovating but the new owners […] are trying hard to make customers happy. Reasonable rate because of the distance from town. Gas station and store nearby. If We were not so tired from our trip we would have opted for another motel but it was so late. I would ask Expedia not to include this motel for your future guests. So dirty, appliances not working, light switches broken and light bulbs not working. We can go on and on and complaints couldn't make us feel any better. It was not a very healthy place […] to stay. The operator don't have any help at all so how can they answer the phone, clean the rooms, attend to people's complaint, I don't know what more to say. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wish I could have loved it"
Unfortunately, the best thing I can say about this place is concerning the manager/owner - he was a very sweet guy. The guy has the heart of an angel, but he doesn't know how to clean. There were cobwebs and 3 spiders on our ceiling when we checked in. The bathroom was atrocious - mildew on the shower curtain. Dried up food was on the floor behind the […] beds. I can't in good conscience recommend this motel, even though the manager was very nice and gracious. They desperately need a professional cleaning service! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Warning - Don't Stay at this Place"
I got invited up for the weekend to attend some meetings and I thought I would give it a try and spend the night at the closest motel to my meetings. So I booked the room a week in advance on Expedia and the price was reasonable. I checked into the room (104) after the Saturday meetings and the first thing I noticed was the gap in the door frame, I […] could see right through to the outside. It was about three quarters of the way up the door, and the overnight temp was expected to be below 20 deg. There was also a smaller gap at the bottom of the door. So I used one of the chairs in the room to hold the door shut and put a towel at the bottom to try to keep the cold out. See photo. I know Motel in the Pines has been in Munds Park for a long time, but I was surprised to see that my room still had the original heater from when the place was first built ('70s). I had problems getting the temp control to work, so I had to wake up during the night to turn the unit off/on. The upper subfloor creaked so badly, I was afraid at the next step someone would come crashing down into my room. Very annoying even with the TV volume way up. Some local people I talked to said the owner was taking the very low budget approach to maintaining the quality of the facility. It was disappointing. I'm a landlord myself, and I would never do this to my tenants. This is what gives the rest of us landlords a bad name. I would choose to stay somewhere else next time. "What You Would Expect"
My wife and I drove 4+ hours just to stay in this hotel. We love the scenery, the wood burning fireplace, and the environment. The bathroom door was falling off the track, the heater in the bathroom didn't work, the layout of the room isn't ideal - but for a quiet getaway, no city noise, beautiful snow fall, a huge comfortable bed, and a cheap rate, […] it is a nice runaway from Las Vegas. "Just a place to crash"
The motel is OLD. It looks old, it smells old, it feels old. You can see that it is maintained, but my guess is that the owners do the work themselves. That's only a guess though. The mattresses and pillows were too firm for my liking and the walls were too thin to keep from hearing the kids next door or the stomping coming from above. Its located in […] the middle of nowhere and a bit further from Flagstaff than I realized. BUT, the folks who run it are very nice and frankly none of the other stuff I mentioned really bothered me. I wanted a cheap place to crash between trips to Flagstaff and the surrounding area and that is what I got. The sheets were clean and the parking wasn't hard to come by. Overall, do NOT stay here if you are looking for a great motel with brand new amenities. But, if you are like me and want a cheap room to store your stuff while you go out and enjoy your vacation, this is a GREAT place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
