"Great bargain in a good location!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
The Lodge is low priced, so keep that in mind when you stay there. With that in mind, we stayed for two nights initially, went to Wellington and then came back and stayed another two nights. We were very satisfied with the location, but we also had a rental car so we could drive the short distance into town. If you don't have a car, this might not be the best place for you. We had heard complaints about the traffic (lodge is right next to a BP gas station) but its no more than anywhere else. The internet was free and really fast, we were able to easily upload our daily pictures. Finally, the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. We would stay there again and again.

"Rotorus Rydges - a good choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 23, 2012
We booked this hotel for two nights while sightseeing in and around Rotorua. The front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful, the room was very spacious and comfortable, and the location was right within the city so getting around was easy. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet that we had added as part of our room booking! Overall, we were well-pleased with our stay here.
"Arista in Rotorua - John & Tim"Reviewed by John S of "Saint Louis, MO" on Mar 6, 2012
This hotel room was a great loft apartment with full kitchen (if you choose to cook on vacation). The hotel has been update by new owners. I love these privately owned hotels in New Zealand. They are personally involved in the managing hotel and keeping guest satisfied. I would choose this hotel again if we make it back to Rotorua, NZ.

"Best Western Braeside Resort, Rotorua, NZ"
Our family of 5 stayed here 2 nights in June 2010 in a 2 bedroom unit with kitchenette. We found it fairly comfortable, similar to a level of a Comfort Inn in the US. The shower was a little surprise as it was just a curtained off area in the corner of the bathroom and not a separate tub or enclosure, but it was ok. The proprieters are a very nice couple, […] helpful and responsive. They also have a laundry room which is very convenient if you have items that require washing / drying prior to packing. Read more
"Best place to stay"
Staff were brilliant in giving advice and guidance and with bookings. Restaurant service and quality was excellent, we were the only couple eating and the chef stayed open to accommodate us. We extended our stay by an extra night which was charged at same on line price and allowed us to stay in the same unit. Easy parking outside the unit. Area is free […] of sulphur fumes. Maori village and animal park is just across the road. You can see Kiwis there. Read more
"Best Western Braeside Rotorua"
Very happy with our stay at this resort motel. Having a restaurant on site was a bonus and the motel was set in attractive grounds, which included a trout stream. Very pleasant staff. The motel's location was within easy driving distance of Rotorua's attractions.
"Old and tired"
It's a tacky motel in a tourist town like lots of similar motels. The staff were friendly and helpful but the buildings need a refurb but demolishing and starting from scratch would be preferable.

"My two kids loved it."
We stayed at a room with private spa and kitchen, hotel also has laundry facility, overall very convenient. Close to Agrodome, a little far from Polynisian Spa, but with driving it's not a problem at all.
