I would not stay here again based on what my wife & I went through. The first two rooms we had, the TV's were not working, and the final room we had the cleanliness of the room & sheets were less than desirable. The worst part of our stay was being awaken in the middle of the night by a family who had the key to our room trying to get in. It turns out, someone at the front desk was not notified that we had switched rooms, and gave another customer access to our room. After calling the front desk the manager kept saying, it was not him but the previous shift. Inexcusable!! Bottom line, I will pay more, or less to stay elsewhere.

I liked this hotel except for one thing. I had a room with a balcony which was really nice to have, but the balcony was directly connected to your next guest rooms. I mean there was no divider or anything to protect your privacy. My wife and I were kind of nervous leaving the balcony door open. But we left the door open anyway as there was no window otherwise. The room was a good sized and clean. I requested a room on a top floor facing the courtyard way in advance via email, however the hotel did not reply. We did not get a room facing the courtyard, but it didn't matter. All in all we liked this hotel and likely to go back when we are in the area.

Actually stayed in two different rooms during my stay (a long story; not due to anything about the hotel). Both were clean and comfortable; neither faced the inner courtyard/pool. Saw much larger suites, but my rooms were standard size. Hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful. Although not remarkable, I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone wanting to visit the Santa Barbara area.

Close to freeway. Lots of noise. Price if good. Can ride bikes to beach for not convenient to walk to beach. Beds not too comfortable. Choose top floor if possible. Can hear everything is on a lower floor. A little cheaper than other local hotels, but would pay more for the convenience.

Nice enough hotel for the price, and the area is nice enough as well, but it's a bit far from the town or beach if you're looking to walk or enjoy a night out. Friendly staff and decent in-house restaurant, but an unusually small pool and jacuzzi.

For the rate we paid, I expected more. The hotel was nice enough, but definitely a 2.5 - 3 at best - star hotel. Cute exterior but rooms needed updating. I guess you could say that it being right next to the freeway is convenient, but it didn't make us want to leave the doors on the balcony open. Freeway noise isn't exactly peaceful. All in all, I'd say it's a decent hotel for passers-through for a night or two. But not a destination for a vacation weekend or anything.

The room was very comfortable, the staff very professional and helpful. The room service was also prompt and friendly. What I was expecting was a Continental breakfast, which they don't have. I expected it for the price we paid for the room. Then again, it's CA, and we live in AZ, which is a lot more affordable. With two small children, and being in Ca, it seemed ideal and reasonable for what we paid. I still wanted the Continental breakfast.

We had to stay in Carpinteria because that was as close as we could get to Santa Barbara for 2008 graduation weekend. The staff was considerate even though the place was packed and sold out. The rooms are small as is the pool area, but you're usually not in Carpinteria to stay in the hotel room right? The enclosed general patio area was very nice and having a restaurant and bar on the premises is very convenient. Easy access to the freeway North & South bound but getting TO the facility when heading northbound on 101 is not intuitive. Check Mapquest/Google before you go.

The hotel was actually very clean and attractive. However our room was right next to the ice machine and our window was facing the freeway. The window was not treated to reduce the sound. Consequently we listened to freeway traffic most of the night. The pillows and bed was like sleeping on a rock. Also we had a maid come in without knocking around 6:00 in the evening. We ate at the restaurant and the food was just a step above Denny's. Would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel has a location that faces the interstate and will not allow you to not have a room that does not face the interstate if you use a discount service such as hotels.com or expedia etc. even when not all of the rooms are booked. I was not informed I would have to be in an insanely loud room all night and feel this should be a disclosure. I do not know that hotels.com is aware of this Best Western practice, but should be, as it was awful. Everything else was fine.
