We stayed over night on 3/29/2013 as a half way stop to Colorado. The rooms were ok. but not anything to rave about. Signage on the walls to where the rooms were at was a little confusing. No breakfast served, but there is a full service restaurant attached to the hotel that you can buy from.

Our room wasn't cleaned very well. There was a half empty Gatorade bottle on the nightstand and a used cup at the sink. There was only one bar of unopened soap at the tub. The bar of soap at the sink had been used. The ice container and wrapped cups were under the nightstand. Paying attention to details (or not) in cleaning makes a difference.

Staff was very rude to us during our stay, guaranteed we would have things and then didnt follow through with them and when we asked about it the manager told us that she really didnt care because her hotel was sold out every night!! We will never be staying there again to say the least

They did not clean the room on Monday, when I went to the front desk to ask about room servicing, I was told they had left for the day, but that someone would come take care of the room after 4PM. When we returned to the room later in the evening all that had been done was pick up the wet towels and to leave some clean ones, no bed was made or sinks […] or tub cleaned bed remained unmade. The hot tub was cleaned late in the day so hot tub was cold and not useable..will not be staying there again..this is our second stay there with disasterous results. Read more

I got what I paid for in this market. I was traveling for a non-profit and was looking for dollar value and expediancy, and that what I found. I have years of travel experiance in the energy sector, and years ago this place was a 4 and is showing it's age and apparent lack of investment. First upgrade I would strongly suggest is flooring, both in rooms […] and public areas. Smoking bar is definiately a turn off for me personally. Stayed while visiting my daughter, had a bridal shower at the hotel as well. The staff in the bar area were terrific, accomodating our needs very well. Hotel rooms were very outdated, beds not the greatest. Very noisy.

The pool was tucked away, but big enough. Looked like a lot of contract workers stayed there based on the many large trucks and laundry room filled to capacity. We were just using it as a stay over between Yellowstone and the Black Hills. Good enough for one night.

Our reservation was for a non-smoking room. We made the reservation 6 weeks in advance and arrived mid-afternoon the day of our reservation. We were told we couldn't reserve a non-smoking room, just request one, and there were no more available. Hard to believe, as this is a large hotel and it was mid-afternoon, not midnight. They agreed to move us […] to a neighboring hotel, but just made the reservation for one night, instead of four nights, so it was a hassle when we came back the second night and were locked out. The hotel is definitely showing it's signs of age. The towels didn't even match in color. I stayed in a pet room and the blanket under the sheet smelled horrible! Fortunately I brought my own blanket! The hotel is pet friendly but no place to take your pet for a walk except a lot for an oil field company with trash and discarded items to fall over if […] you're not careful. There's not even a free breakfast which has become such a standard for so many other hotels. I'm very disappointed and will not be staying there when I return. Read more

Front desk clerk was rude upon check-in. Was given a room with two queen sized beds when I reserved a king sized. Wife, whom is handicapped, (uses a cane and has trouble with stairs) requested a ground floor room instead given a 2nd floor room. NO elevators! The key for the room did not work about half the time, and I had to get maintenance to let me in several times. I was told that their key pads just do not work well. But otherwise the room was fine, although there were several smoking halls nearby that I found bothersome to have to walk through due to allergies. Requested a non-smoking King - got a non-smoking, two old saggy mattress "queens" (more likely regular full-size - we have a queen at home and this was small). Stairwell had a foul smell - like a dirty moldy old mop... the other stairwell had same, but was a little milder. Still nauseating. Carpet needed vacuuming - obvious string and white debris between […] bathroom and nearest bed. Wimpy towels. Check-out time of 11:00 am is a bit early. The wing of the motel where we stayed is adjacent to basically a "junk-yard" - We weren't there for the view, just a place to sleep - but still. The free WiFi was about the best thing this place has going for it. Did not even try the indoor pool or any other amenities or services. Ended up leaving before our last night to catch an early flight and take advantage of an afternoon shower, rather than driving around aimlessly or sitting in the airport for 5 hours due to the early check-out time. Will probably / hopefully never go to Gillette again, but if we did we would choose a different place. Read more
