Best Western Plus Holiday Hotel - Coos Bay

Everything was fine about this hotel. My only warning is that if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the center of this hotel. The hotel sits between two major streets. Our room was just two off the street and the street traffic was loud...I believe the log trucks roll past at about 60mph at night. My GF and I flew down to Anaheim to pickup a Vette and were driving it back up Hwy101 to Seattle. This hotel was our third and final night of the drive. The hotel itself was very convenient off the Hwy and close to gas/convenience stores. On this day we had driven up from San Francisco and arrived later than expected so didn't get out to see Coos Bay. […] Neither of us complained about vehicle traffic or road noise, my complaint is about our room. It was REALLY cold when we got there. We turned the heater on but it's directly below the window and would blow the drapes out into the room like a parachute. We tried leaving the drapes open but then people walking past our room would look in at us so we ended up tucking the drapes into the sill. The breakfast in the morning was hot and as good as other reviews have posted....eggs, sausage, juice, potatoes, waffles, fruit, etc. It was the best breakfast of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip. We went to the coast for a family getaway over Thanksgiving weekend. The weather turned out terrible, so we were even more thankful for the clean room and awesome indoor pool/spa. The beds were comfortable, the TV was updated to a flat screen, and there was a free hot breakfast in the lobby every morning with lots of different options. Was just fine. Had the wrong date booked but they found us a room that happened to be handicapped equipped that no one was using. It suited us well. Ground level right across from the lobby. My wife and I stayed at this Best Western, September 23, 2012. Although the building itself is an older building, the owner must be given allot of credit for the pristine condition of this motel and its property. You can buy a whole range of beers, wines and food in reception and the breakfast we had was great - hot food and plenty of it. Loved the breakfast!!! Had potatoes, eggs with tortillas and salsa and sausage. In top two best motel breakfasts I've had. Also, beautifully painted pool room and could sit outside in patio area so didn't roast in heated pool room if not in the pool. Convenient parking outside your room. Very nice staff. Newspapers at front desk to read.

Our room was so dark I had no idea it was morning when it was time to get up, that was nice. The room was clean when we arrived, the pool was very warm, the views were cool. Only downside was the misunderstanding about my reservation. I was repeatedly questioned about who I was then told my booking reference number was 'awfully long....'
