It was just an average hotel. After reading several reviews about bed bugs for this location, we took a chance anyway. The hotel is old, but CLEAN. We inspected the entire room, lifting mattresses and more, for signs of bugs. There were none, and the room didn't have any weird odors of bugs spray either. I would come back.

Not happy at all with this hotel, by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. First thing was when we got to our room it was 50 degrees in there, they didn't have the heat on. The first thing I noticed about the room was that the toilet was not clean. It looked like it had just been used and there was urine on the rim. the phone did not work. The only good thing I can say is the pool and hot tub were clean.

The room was ok, it had a smell to it so I had to light a candle. The location was great. The breakfast was great, but I noticed someone taking sausage from the container with their fingers and not the tongues. When we checked out it was the manager. Not a good way to run your hotel.

The main issue we had with our room was the dreadful smell. It was very mildewy smelling, and we thought that running the heater and venting the room would help, but it did not. This was reserved as a smoking room but I got a non-smoking room. There were dirty wash rags hanging from the shower curtain. The TV remote didn't even turn on the TV. It was suppose to have wireless internet but the signal was so weak I was unable to get on internet. The vending machines didn't even work. If I would have checked in earlier than 11:00pm […] I would have complained to front desk but I just wanted to get some sleep so I could get back on the road in the morning. I have no idea how this had a rating of 3.8, I will never stay there again and recommend against staying there. Read more

My hotel room was disgusting. It smelled like cigarette smoke, and there was a number of black hairs in the sheets. When I called to the front desk for a clean set, he brought me worn sheets with cigarette burns in them. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

Prior reviews about this hotel are right on regarding the need for maintenance in this hotel. Our sink was falling off the wall although the desk did seem suprised and assured us they would fix it. The linens and draperies seemed newer and updated but otherwise it needs a serious renovation. The reports of smoke smell in the hallway are accurate as […] well but there is no smell in the rooms which was a relief. The hotel is in a nice area with a cracker barrel next door - a pleasant surprise. It wasn't awful but was not on the standard of a 2.5 star but really what I would expect for 1 star. My wife is in a wheelchair and we were looking for a room that could meet her needs. Our "accessible" room, we were told would do that. We have stayed in hotels where she could wheel into the bathroom "transfer" to a fold down seat and with a handheld shower head, bath. Hand rails near the commode were all that our bathroom provided. There was a conventional […] bathtub that was completely inaccessible to her. So no bath that night. A king size bed is normally a plus but in this case crowded the room to the extent it was difficult to move around the room even without the wheelchair. "Old" analog TV was also a negative. The room I stayed in smelled funny, like a fumigation had happened in there or something. The bathroom never got cleaned, especially the toilet. There was a long black hair on the outside of the toilet bowl and there was a sticky dusty mess on the seat. I refused to sit on the toilet the entire time I was there if I even bothered to use the bathroom […] in my own room. It smelled better by the second day but the toilet yet again wasn't cleaned. As for the continental breakfast I was very dissatisfied. I've been to several different hotels with continental breakfasts, and never have they been this terrible EVER! They ran out of almost everything by 9 am and the person working refused to fill anything after even when there were still people filing in. They ran out of hot water for oatmeal or hot chocolate and they refused to fill the batter for the waffles. That left squished bread for toast, one apple, some cereal, a few bagels, and water or orange juice. I woke up early on the second day just so I could have breakfast. Shouldn't have to do that in my opinion. Overall I will never being staying at this hotel again and I would not recommend it unless you just need a place to sleep for a night then rush out the next day. Read more

We tried three different rooms to find one that didn't have gross body hair all over the shower and facial hair all over the sink. The toilets would glog up and run out on the floor, one even leaked from around the base of the toilet. the beds were not very comfortable, one had stains on the sheets. we found gum sticking to the floor in the pool room. […] House keeping needs to be evaluated. Saw 1 ant, probably got in through window; those little ants that are common to NW Ohio that get into the cleanest homes. Stayed 3 nights, kept food in room, never saw another- no signs of bed bugs. Room looked recently updated; wall paper/trim looked newer. Hallways smell musty, but claiming pool smell in room is crazy- pool is completely closed off […] from rest of hotel! Room did not smell like hallways (my nose is very sensitive, I can smell other people's sent when close to them and it's not always pleasant, so believe me when I say the rooms smell fine). Had office chair and desk. WIFI: strong signal because access points in different parts of hotel. Flat screen TV w/cable w/premium channels. Only real complaint is only 2 outlets, bring a power strip. Requested a refrigerator, and got one. Shower stayed hot, and pressure was really good. Pool water was cold/not being heated, but hot tub was perfect! Private area for sun bathing was great. Breakfast buffet good; plenty to eat for someone like me who is gluten intolerant. Bed was comfortable, blankets not thick but adequate, the number of pillows was good. Heater/AC looks dated, but it worked fine. You get enough towels for 2, but you can ask for more. Stores nearby, restaurants and gas station within walking distance. Not perfect for the uppity snobs of society, but it comes close to perfection for the price. Glad I chose this hotel. Read more

This hotel in need of renovation. There are very few hotels that do not have at least Flat screen TV's, carpet in need of cleaning or better being replaced, same thing goes for the drapes and curtains. Hallsways extremely hot, the only thing ok about this hotel was the breakfast.

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel definitely needed some work and updating. Needed to ask for extra towels even though we had reserved the room for 4 people and the pool room had not no towels even though the sign said not to use room towels (towels were supposed to be provided in the pool area). Front desk personnel were very friendly, but the rest of the hotel was tired and in need of renovation. Rooms were Motel 6 quality - glad I didn't pay more than I did for it.
