Room looked very old, no updates. The door chain was barely hanging on the frame. Looked like the door, when chained, had been forced open and no one had taken the time to repair to chain lock. Was a little uneasy sleeping with all of the traffic noise and knowing that the chain lock was not very safe. Lots of stains on the carpets and cigarette burns […] on the counter tops, night stands, etc. There was an item on the bathroom floor from a previous person, razor head off of a disposable razor. Just wasn't impressed and will not be staying there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice clean place to rest!"
It was nice for the price! Hotel staff were friendly and polite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Carpet was torn and dirty. Bedspreads were old and dirty. Building was not in good shape. The phones were filthy. All the rooms need painting and repair. And when we got home, a roach crawled out of our suitcase. Not a good experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A step up from the Days Inn accross the street"
I needed the cheapest rate, that's what I got. Quiet, and clean enough I guess. The Wi-Fi is sketchy, not good enough to work on. The shower head barely lets enough water through to get wet. The television is an old tube style with lines running through the picture. The hotel was still better than the Days Inn that I spent 4 Previous weeks in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The stay was good, but the room smelled musty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We won't be back..."
White bread for toast does not equal a DELUXE continental breakfast. The sheets did not look clean & the carpet was more than stained. We won’t be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room showed age but was clean."
Fine for a quick overnight place to sleep. The breakfast left a bit to be desired. Rates were well within reason for room.Genuine Expedia guest review
I booked one room and my fellow workers booked the second room. When they got out of the shower they realized there was blood on the wall and floor! When I checked out tge next morning the guy ahead of me complained about his room and the clerk informed him that that room should not have been rented. She refunded his whole amountGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a clean hotel"
Towels were old and not very clean. The coffeemaker was dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review
A lite mix up at front desk with reservation but other than that it was a relaxing stay. Comfortable beds, room for granddaughter to play and I love having a small refrig - was able to save ice cream (from DQ next door) overnight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for."
Average small town older hotel, room was adequate. At breakfast several items were empty and no one would refill, and this was early in the morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
The heater did not work very well. We were extremely hot or extremely cold. Could not maintain temperature. The bathtub did not turn off all the way. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. We generally stay in this hotel when we stay in Chillicothe cause the breakfast is very good. The rooms on the east side of hotel need work. West side is better […] . "Old and not too nice."
We were put into the older building as we booked through Hotels.com and the room was already paid for. It was very dated and old. Not impressed with the front desk personnel. Just OK not something I would book again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room had a musty smell, it was an older room. A washcloth was left from a previous customer in the bathroom, a shower cap was left on the floor in the bathroom, and a bottle of pop was left in the fridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great price, got 2 rooms."
We enjoyed our stay here. The price was great and so we got two rooms, one for us and one for the kids. Very clean and well taken care of, but the bed was hard. That is really the only complaint we had.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stop along the road"
This motel served its purpose very well as just a stop along the road. It's an older facility, but the staff does a great job of keeping it clean and tidy. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but it was just an overnight stop.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was dirty......long hair in the shower, tub area. The corners of bathroom were dirty. The whole room felt unclean. The microwave was in the closet.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Hotel Value in Chillicothe, MO"
The room we actually slept it in was clean and normal. However, many of the rooms have a small uncurtained frosted glass block window near the door that lets in just enough light to inhibit restful sleep without eye shades. We asked for a different room and they were able to accommodate us. We recommend this motel, but we also recommend that you either […] ask for a room without the weird frosted glass block window or bring eye shades. Our room was quiet, everything worked, and the price was very reasonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Strong smell and spotty service, but good location"
The bad smell (mildew?) at this hotel is overwhelming. I bought a super odor killer from the Walmart behind the hotel, but only balancing it on the AC vent would eliminate enough of the smell for me to sleep (although even then not completely). At the front desk, you have to ring for service, and it always seemed to take them awhile to respond if there […] was no one at the desk already. The staff weren't really friendly and for the most part did not seem to be trying very hard. The room was cleaned, but they missed some obvious stuff vacuuming. This is an older hotel, but very clean. I stopped because of the exterior appearance, well-maintained. Though old, the room was very clean and had obviously had some updates done. It was very quiet and I had a most comfortable evening. Staff was very pleasant as well.

We stayed in the motel while we were visiting family. We have a large family and reserved a suite that would accommodate all of us. The suite smelled of mold. It was stuffy and dark. It did appear to be relatively clean at first glance, so we decided to stay. The beds were uncomfortable, too. The breakfast was bare minimum at best. To top it all off, when our kids were going to get a cup (Styrofoam, unwrapped) off of the counter in our room to use for brushing their teeth, there was writing on the cup in a child's handwriting as if someone had already used the cup and wrote their name on it to tell it was theirs. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! After that, I was done. We absolutely will not stay there again. If you're in the area, look elsewhere. The one good thing about our stay was the lady at the front desk. She was extremely helpful and very friendly. However, they did NOTHING to make up for our horrible stay.

We stayed here on August 29,2013. The front desk staff was great. We were in room 106. The room was clean, but soon after we were in it, I was bit several times and we had gnats. I think these are what had bit me. The carpet didn't look very clean, but was hard to tell if it was just old and stained or just plain dirty. I saw something under the edge of the bed and managed to pull it out. It was a plastic piece from the corner of the mattress that obviously had been there for some time, as it was very dirty. Overall the room was clean. There were a lot of men hanging around outside, don't know if they were construction workers or guys that just lived there. We missed the cut off for breakfast, so can't tell you about that. Price was very good at around 65.00 for the night. I think the management needs to do a better job of checking the work the staff does after cleaning the rooms. Thank you to the front desk person for giving us a room on the first floor; one we didn't have to do the stairs and two from the other reviews it sounds like the first floor was the better place to be.
"worst experience EVER! WAY over priced for dirty poor quality!"

I live IN Chillicothe, but after travelling to south Texas for 8 days and my husband travelling to the Great Lakes on business, we decided to "get away" together. We paid for the room and was SHOCKED it was $111 for one night. I just spent 8 days on the road and have stayed in hotels all along and the Super 8 and Ramada we less than $60 a night and CLEAN! Chillicothe Econolodge was DISGUSTING! the Jacuzzi tub wasn't fully operational. The bed had DRIED OLD FOOD stuck in the comforter!! The bed was atrociously uncomfortable and the fitted sheet wouldnt' even stay on the mattress. Last but not least, the "continental breakfast" was a JOKE! Every CHEAP hotel I stayed at had fresh fruit, yogurt, waffle maker, oats, whole wheat bread, etc. Econolodge had NOTHING for me to eat! It was so disappointing I will NEVER allow any of my friends and family to stay there! EVER!!! Not even a sugar pack for coffee! Can not express enough how deplorable this hotel is!!
"I agree with all the bad reviews I just read!"
We arrived around 2:00 PM and had to wait for our room to be cleaned. Full payment was required at check-in. We stayed for 3 days and our "suite" was smelly, dirty, and had little nat like bugs that bit, flying everywhere.... We had to ask daily for clean towels and toilet paper. The towels were very thin and warn. Our room was not cleaned once in the 3 days we stayed. The carpet was filthy. "Breakfast " was a joke and the breakfast room had a very bad smell. We could hear kids (?) running around on the floor above us. We found out that the manager family lived in the apartment above us. We could see daylight through the door to the room. The dresser drawers were not closing well and we got to looking and there were 3 kids shirts stuffed behind the drawer, keeping it from closing. In the second bathroom, there was a washcloth thrown under the sink, the looked like someone had wiped their butt with and hidden there, which may have been the nasty odor..Walls and ceilings were repaired and patched over from what looked like water damage and repaired or tried to repair but was done very poorly. The whole experience was terrible. That was the "suite" but from the other reviews the rest of the rooms were not much better..... IF I have to say something nice, it was confidently located next to Walmart and across the street from McDonalds. The pool was ok, but not at all supervised with a 9:00 PM closing time.. We spent little time during the day at ECONO LODGE, and mostly were gone during the day... The price was ok for 6 of us, but we will NEVER stay there again..we did tell the manager that our room was not cleaned once during our stay and she gave us a weak apology, but offered us nothing for our trouble. This will be reported to the cooperate office!

Worst breakfast of any hotel that offered breakfast. So bad that some hungry teens walked in and out without anything to eat. Pool cold and nasty uninstalled handicap eq. Laying around, garbage in bushes. Broken umbrellas. Room a.c. Soaked carpet.

Keep on driving! Owners suck can't, hotel needs remodeled. Covers aren't changed unless there was a pet in the room. Just think about what the last people left on them! Front desk clerk has to clean rooms while we are waiting at the front for help.

We were headed to Chillicothe for a business meeting. I had booked Thursday night at the Comfort Inn but had decided to go up the night before so as not to have to drive 4 hours in the morning. The Comfort Inn was completely booked so I got online and booked with the Econo Lodge. The pictures looked nice and ok. I was with my family, when we arrived I went into the office to get the keys. We booked a King Suite and it had a Jacuzzi (looking at the pictures it looked fairly nice) We go and open the door to the room and immediately was not happy. There was a beer bottle and trash on the guest table, trash in the trash can, the bed wasn't made, bathroom amenities half used, and the room was older and was very worn. So we went to the front desk and let them know. They apologized and gave us another room (same kind) we were skeptical but went to the room.... Opened the door and almost fell over from the smell!!! I don't know what it was but it was bad. It seemed that the room had not been used in a while and it smelled. We took the keys back to the front desk and told them that we would NOT be staying there and wanted a refund. The woman behind the counter wanted me to tell her what the smell was like, I told her to go down and check for herself. The Staff and the woman behind the counter was very nice and they were trying to help and make it better (they did refund our money without any hassle.)
"Nasty and not well maintained. Stay Away!"
05/18/13 Levi G Saint Simons Island
Was here on business for a couple of days. The lobby smelled of soured milk, and because there was a makeshift breakfast bar in the lobby, I couldn't help but believe that the odor was coming from the overflowing garbage can by the cereal dispensers. Very odd thing is this place requires payment in FULL for your entire stay before they check you into a room. Most places charge you per day of stay. Anyways the room smelled of a natural gas leak, the bathroom sink was dirty and stopped up, the toilet had urine on the rim, and there were hairs in the beds. Clearly the beds had not been changed, but merely made up and let go. The entire stay was horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
"The nicest hotel in Chillicothe under $99"
05/07/13 Farmergidget Grant City
Very well kept on the outside...very attractive looking. Rooms were clean and comfortable with great parking. My only 2 gripes were 1. My phone in my room did not work thus no wake up call...manager wasn't concerned. 2. Television remote would not work even though I went to office to get new batteries or a solution. We lived :) and it is a safe, clean convient location. I almost forgot....the staff our from another country, and are extremely hard to understand.
