EDGEWATER RESORT AND WATERPARK - Duluth

We were very disappointed in our room. It was not up to quality standards such as the following:a. bed was very uncomfortable, did not get a good nights sleep. b. could not sleep through the noise level (one night someone knocked on our door but no one was there). We stayed 2 nights and the second morning there was no coffee in the room. There was only […] styrofoam cups, no glasses. It cost for a forgotten toothbrush. Many cheaper hotels give toothbrushes away without paying for it. One person we were with bought a pair of sunglasses in your hotel store and they immediately broke. She wasn't willing to make a fuss over it as she had just paid for a toothbrush (she forgot her's at home). Read more

It wasn't very good the room was supposed to have a pullout bed and it did not. Had to rent a roll away. The bathroom was freezing cold. The shower had no water pressure at all. I think that I had one of the worst stays at a hotel in my life. In my eyes I would never stay there again. Two thumbs down!!!!!!!

The water park was very nice it was kid friendly and also provided entertainment for the adults to. The hotel we stayed in was located seperate from the water park wich wasn't a huge deal. The room was alittle small and outdated for the price.

Food at the hotel was not so good but the hotel service was excellent. I called the front desk a few times for extra pillows, blanket and sheets for pull out sofa. I was pleasantly surprised when housekeeping came to the door within minutes. The hotel is in a good location. It is within walking distance of the lake walk along Lake Superior, a Perkins […] and a Dunns Brothers Coffee. It also offers a great view of Grandma's Marathon if you are spectating the event. Desk staff were courteous, accommodating, helpful and friendly. The hair dryer in our room didn't work. I called down to the desk and within 20 minutes a new one was delivered. The warm outdoor pool was beautiful, and the hot tub was hot! We look forward to our next visit to Duluth, and will stay at the Edge again.

We were in the older part of the Edgewater. The room was clean and alright, however there was only one chair by the table so no place to sit to watch TV, other than on the bed. .

We stayed at the Edgewater for one night to ski. It seemed like a great place to relax after a day on the hill. The room was fine, it is a place to sleep. The waterpark was fine as well. The irritating part was that the TV was broken and wouldn't turn on and if you have tired kids - a TV in a small room is a must. Also the bathroom door wouldn't stay […] shut. There was food on the floor and I am not sure what was on the ceiling. I think the hotel is fine for crazy kids who want to spend the day in the water park. I was very disapppointed with my entire weekend at the Edge. The hotel is very run down and needs lots of maintenence --its old... The hallways are dirty , the stairs were filthy the enitre weekend not cleaned once..I took notice of that especially. Our room smelled terrible.. and to top it all off no hot water...I called the front desk to complain […] and before I had a chance to finish the conversation the host hung up....I did call back to find out how long we would have to wait for hot water...she coyuldnt answer me....we showered in cold water on Sunday morning no apology what so ever. This hotel comes with breathtaking views and easy access to downtown and canal park and museum. It has enough indoor entertainment as well to keep you well pleased with the indoor water park. Just outside and up the road on the otherside of the hotel is shoreside driving and rock collector's havens. It is a must stay hotel.

With reading the reviews others had wrote on their stay, i was a bit concerned...but decided to go ahead and stay anyway. I am glad I did! My boys had an amazing time at the waterpark, and our room was upgraded upon arrival. We had no issues with the cleanliness of the room, very well cleaned! We picked a wknd that was very colorful so many people were out and about. We recieved very courteous and fast service upon entering the hotel. Our room smelled like a really bad nursing home for lack of better words. Also the ceiling was cover in spider webs with dead bugs stuck in them. There were several flys in our room as well. for what we paid the room was not worth it. We asked for two queen beds, we got one queen and a full sized hide-a-bed. Got stuck in our room because the door knob fell off. The room was so small we couldn't move around without tripping over each other.

Everything was good, there was a slide closed due to a malfunction, but at least they are checking on them right? There was a used wash cloth left in the bathroom, but it was hanging on the shower curtain rail behind the bunched up shower curtain so I can see how it was missed. THe rest of the room was spotless. The kids flipped for the pool, I have a 2 and a 4 year old, I would say this waterpark/pool is fun for kids up to 12 or 13, after that its probably not got enough stuff. This hotel is in need of major cleaning and spiffing up. The carpet in the breakfast area is filthy. Staff are pleasant and accommodating. The layout of the hotel is a challenge for persons with mobility problems. We spent 1 night here and wished we could have stayed a weekend. We came for the great waterpark, of course, but got the unexpected extras of big screen evening movie, bonfire complete with s'mores, mini golf, and beautiful lake views. The staff was uniformly terrific. Highly recommend for a great weekend with family.

A friend and I stayed for a night to attend a festival and this hotel was very good for that purpose. The front desk was extremely patient and very friendly. The staff is all very young that I could see, but competent and professional. The waterpark was fun and clean, but on one of the slides I hit my bottom on the the bottom of the pool and have a […] large scrape. It didnt stop me from enjoying it, but word of caution to others that it is very shallow at the end of the slides. The rooms were fine for our short stay, not overly luxurious, but comfortable. Only drawbacks were a broken hairdryer, and it seemed that the shower was missing the liner. If I had kids, this would be a perfect place for a family vacation! The "bar" itself, isnt one, so if you are looking for that, you have to go across the street. In all, we had a very fun stay and I would go again. Read more

The thermostat was broken and only blew hot air in the middle of June. Once that was replaced the temp never got cooler than 74 despite the thermostat being set at 60.
