This is an older hotel with entry to the room on the exterior of the building. The bed was roomy and comfortable. The bathroom and the air conditioner/heating fans were somewhat noisy.

Considering that at the moment, E Main St in St Charles IL is undergoing major construction, I found it was not too difficult to get to this hotel. It was well lit, and the late night employees were cordial. The room was clean and comfortable for a cold winter's night. Don't go looking for cable, they don't subscribe. Not a big problem if you're there […] early in the morning/late at night. The one and only problem is that this hotel, being older, does not have a lot of handicap accesibility, IE no elevator to the 2nd floor. But, the staircases were well lit and clean, with railings on each side to hold on to if you needed it. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, and personal coffee pot. The continental breakfast offered make your own waffle, fruit, cereal, muffins, pastries, juice, and coffee. The day time staff was helpful and able to give good directions to a person needing to know which way to turn to get to a venue. Read more

We stayed in the newer annex of the hotel and found it to be extremely quiet even though it faced Hwy 64. Nice workroom is also located in the annex. The continental breakfast was a good match for our taste.

The place is very clean. Only one thing bothered me. I absolutely needed a wake up call after having forgotten my alarm clock at home. So, I spoke with the lady at the desk and even commented that during a previous motel stay, the automated wake up call was 20 minutes late. Two complaints: First, the shower drain was very slow, leading to standing water in the tub during shower. Second, the breakfast area was not well maintained by the staff. Items ran short or out, but the staff person had supplies in back which she brought out when asked. She should not have needed to be asked.

With the construction and the motor court style, we were a bit concerned at first sight, having stayed at a higher-end accommodation across the street last year. However, we were very pleased to find an attractive and clean room with fridge, microwave, clean bathroom, etc. The only down side was lack of towel racks (the only ones were in the shower) […] and that the sink is inside of the bathroom with very little counter space. I prefer to find the sink and vanity outside of the bathroom itself, especially with 3 women sharing a room. We were in town to run the FV races, and the hotel really catered to racers with an English chef who made a pasta supper available for $6 the night before and a cooked breakfast for $4 on Sunday morning. However, the free breakfast provided by the hotel itself was quite ample including our favorite waffle-maker. The manager also provided a shuttle to the race start in the morning, and was very accommodating in allowing late check-out to enable us to finish the races, hang around, and still have time to come back for a shower before check-out. The room was posted as non-smoking, but had a musty, smoky smell. I would have left if I were planning to be there more than one night. The management needs to spend some money replacing carpets, wallpaper, etc. left over from when the motel allowed smoking.

The part of the hotel we stayed in was older, with the room door opening directly outside. There is a newer addition to the hotel. The stairway to the 2nd floor, which is also outside, was quite narrow for carrying suitcase up, so we had to make a few of trips from the car. But all in all the hotel was fine and I would stay there again.

The locations was good,but the hotel was old and not updated. For the money I would have thought it would have been much nicer. The breakfast room was very small. Part of the breakfast was complimentary, but some things you had to pay for. Very weird.

We tried a new card that didn't work either and the clerk said the batteries were bad and the owner would be there to replace them. Never saw him. Got a free business upgrade prior to checking in which was a great surprise. Didnt use the room a whole lot as the event we were in town for consumed the majority of Fri. evening, and a good 14 hours of Sat. The room was plenty big , the fridge, and microwave were clean, and worked fine. The bathroom was clean, and adequate. It was okay. Nothing special. I stayed for 7 days and did not think I needed to have them come in and clean since it was only me. They informed me that they needed to come in and clean. We reserved a non smoking room, the room reaked from smoke. The odor burned my nose all through the night. When I talked to the clerk in the morning she insisted they gave us a non smoking room and offered to tell the manager. The eating area was so small it appeared to only hold 10 people, they were sitting in the lobby area. We didn't eat there.

I was told the the hotel in St Charles had a shuttle to and from the airport when I booked with you. When i got to Ohare, I called the hotel for the pick up. I was told that there was no shuttle from the airport and that I was basically stranded. i would have to find my way to the hotel on my own. The only thing I didn't like in this room was the lounge chair. It wasn't the most comfortable. My stay was only for one night but the hotel was clean and close to everything. I would stay there again. The young man at the front desk wasn't very attentative, he seemed preoccupied each time I had to deal with him. Thus, the reason why this hotel did not get all 5's.
