Nothing special. Went for an anniversary and liked it generally. Service was not great. Called them up and asked for utensils they only had spoons and knifes. Understandable, but the worst part was that they said she had to go down and get it ourselves and they wouldn't bring it up for us.

Room was ok, but easy walk to boardwalk. Nothing fancy, and breakfast was cereal and muffins. Pool is small. Rooms are old travel inn, but clean.

It was great the next door people where a bit loud but they where very soon kicked out and I went back to sleep but they did handle the situation very fast and I am pleased with that and we had a blast in Santa cruz

Room was fairly clean, walls in bathroom could use a scrubbing. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Room was big with table and chairs, fridge and a microwave. Walls were a little thin but we had our sound machine so it was okay. Will definately come back as it was close to the boardwalk and downtown.

Location was walking distance from beach, sights, and restaurants. Street was a little loud, walls were so thin you thought someone was opening your door every time they opened one next door. Spacious room, nice staff, great pool. No clocks in the room and the tub was almost to small to stand in. All made sense for the price.

Unable to get early check-in. Parking is very limited for the guests. Walls are as thin as paper can hear everything from the other rooms and outside. Went to have breakfast and the milk was out of date and lumpy. I would not stay here again for the price we paid.

For my first trip to santa cruz it was great. The hotel is located about a half mile or less from the santa cruz beach boardwalk. Me and my family had a blast very close to resturants. Infact the gloden palace is great resturant to eat at. Right around the corner. Great service. Great food. Comfy rooms. And beds. Location was good as it is just minutes away from the boardwalk. U can hear the opening and closing of doors from ur neighbors, and their bed sheets were itchy. Their service was poor, as they only have one person to check in guests one at a time, and their complimentary continental breakfast is a joke.

This motel is disgusting! There are only motels around the area but this was not clean. The towels had stains on them, the toilet was so old, and the bathroom area was dirty. Their service is horrible. Our fire alarm kept beeping for some reason and we told the front desk and he just gave us a battery for us to replace OURSELVES. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy... the hotel looks nice from the outside, but meh on the inside. The old electrical outlets in our room need to be replaced, no plug would stay in. We had to move the fridge to get it closer to a plug that worked a bit better. The light above the bathroom vanity did not work, the only option we were given (even though […] they said they would fix it) was to move rooms. We had already unpacked our cooler, clothes, etc and did not want to spend time doing such. Breakfast was a joke, cold items and convenience store options. The parking is tight and our area definitely smelled like urine. No Jacuzzi, which would have been really nice. If you want really cheap and don't mind conditions then go ahead. Read more

Very nice room and clean room. The front desk lady was very friendly. I did not wake up early enough for the continental breakfast but thats ok. The building out back is NOT the place to stay in this hotel. The transients in the alley drank and smoked marijuana late into the night. The Mexican bread delivery man came down the alley about every hour honking his horn until 10pm. I would stay in the main building, but not the rear building.

Rudest clerk on the planet! Tried to renege on the arrangements made by phone with Hotels.com re: a credit card issue and substituting a cash deposit. Clerk doubled the deposit and still refused to rent the room without a credit card and tried to turn my 18 yr old daughter away. The Room - The property is old, but the room was clean, had updated decor and our beds & pillows were awesome! More comfy than at home! The heater/air conditioner sounded like it was on its last leg, but it did the job. Room was a bit stuffy smelling at first, but was fine after we aired it out. Breakfast - I had very low expectations for the continental […] breakfast, but was very pleasantly surprised. They had coffee, hot chocolate, all varieties of tea, 2 different juices, milk, 3 hot or cold bread choices with all the fixings including Nutella & Skippy Super Chunky peanut butter, 3 fruit choices, 2 cold cereals, oatmeal and wrapped pastries. The breakfast was served in a separate room from the front desk and there were about 5 small round tables with chairs. Location - Was in a very busy/noisy area, but the beach/boardwalk/pier, downtown and old town were all accessible by foot. Shopping on Pacific Street was less than 10 mins on foot and the beach was about 5 mins away. Mission Street was a good hike, but still doable for walkers. Overall a great value for the price during off-season. I might change my opinion for peak season prices! Would recommend this property for easy going, non-picky travelers who are looking for good value and a clean place to shower and sleep. Read more

Quiet hotel about 4 blocks from the boardwalk. 4 of us in one room yet only given 3 towels. Had to wait for manager to wash towels before we got a fourth. Continental breakfast was supposed to open at 7am but was more like 7:30. And orange juice machine was broken. Other than that was decent room, pool and location. Couldn't beat the price.

I thought it was terrible! The management here is the worst. When we arrived, he suddenly demanded a deposit, even though we had paid with a credit card. It was too late to cancel our reservations, so we were trying to work something out, & he told us to leave! We were trying to call Hotels.com, and the manager called the police on us!!! We ended up […] being able to work it out, once the cops got there, probably because they were on our side completely. When the police left & we were finally checking in, he was trying to act like he had done us a favor by letting us stay... It was a terrible experience, one that I would not choose to repeat. Although it was a nice motel, as far as clean & nice looking, the management was SO terrible, I won't be staying here again. Needs work on the hotel from top to bottom.....breakfast area needs an attendant to clean up messes and try to fix the orange juice machine...it wasn't working correctly. Convenient location to the boardwalk and freeway access. Hotel probably were apartments converted and refurbished. There is a pool, no spa, free cereal type breakfast self service and an outdoor patio area that would be nice in summer. Price was right!

The room was clean, the bed it self was very comfortable. The only thing that was very disappointment, was that some of the other clients staying there, had kids and they kept playing with there skateboard in front of the rooms all day and until very late at night and this was very disturbing. Finally, he just changed the price online to meet what he told me.
